I don't get it, if the costumes are already on the disc, why do they space out the releases like this? Why not release it all in one go, so everyone can get what they want right away.
they look good, but once again they will sell the entire pack the last to drain more money, also back in sf4 you had 5 alts by package here only 4 (except on 1 pack) more money for capcom again, and there is no color swap for them,

Oh dear, CAPCOM decided to reuse Dante's 'Sparda' devil trigger model for Corrupt Vergil instead of making a Nelo Angelo model..
I guess it has it's pros, at least no one will be able to tell the difference between the two if both are in DT and hiding offscreen as partners 1 + 2.

Wait, how the hell are you going to tell Dante and Vergil apart if they both use their alt's and both DT? It's really lazy on Capcom's part to give both Dante and Vergil the Sparda model especially when they already set the precedent in DMC3 Special Edition that Corrupted Vergil (Bad(ass) Vergil) becomes Nelo Angelo when he DT's.

Wow, those are pretty bad bundles. Not only it’s only four costumes per pack instead of five like it was in SSFIV, but they also managed to somehow arrange them so that I want at the most two of a pack. So I guess except for the Hawkeye/Trish pack, I won’t buy any of those, even if I’d loved to get She-Hulk, Viper and Storm.

I've looked inside the game disc and extracted all the models. All these extra costumes are already there. I don't understand why they're releasing these so late or why they're charging so much.
Capcom is spreading out the releases to give the game a longer life. They think that putting out the packs months from now will make people go, "Hey, new dlc pack. I haven't played MvC in a while. Why don't I pop it in and play a few rounds?"
But they don't realize that a casual fan's interest on a fighting game is about 1 month total. And if they try to pick it up down the road, they are going to get pissed off because everyone online is much better than they are.
So rather than trying to extend the life of the game to casual players who don't really care anyway, they should put out the packs now so people who will actually be playing the game 4 months from now can customize they're characters the way they want.
Oh, and no color swaps for these? I can only imagine that has something to do with a license issue with Marvel. Cause that kind of laziness is extreme even for Capcom. Seriously, color swaps take about a days worth of work for the whole cast.
Shame there is no color swaps for Alternates but I'm loving the Brawler pack

I hoped and prayed Vergil would get his corrupt Vergil alt. He did. I was even more hype knowing that when he devil triggered he would turn into nelo angelo. He doesn't. The laziness on capcom's part just ruined my week. As cool as sparda transform looks, HE'S NOT SPARDA. This is bull.

@16 Yes, as everyone has mentioned, these are on the disk, and you are basically buying the unlock key, if you wait til march then it will just give you the other unlock keys.
As much as i understand how the game industry works, this is pretty much a rip being honest, 4 (one 5) chars per pack, no colour swaps, very tactically packed packs etc.
Might pick up the full pack in march, but i will be likely be more concerned with uni-work and SFxT

HYPER COMBOS: I LOST MY GUN! Lvl 1: Meekin's throws his gun at the opponent. If it connects, it goes into animation, dealing 200,000 points of UNSCALED damage.
I AM THE BLUE BADGER!: LVL. 1: A horde of children come along and swamp Meekins. Mashing this hyper results in increased damage, defense, and speed of Meekins until he is KO'd. Cannot be hit, can only be done once, makes I LOST MY GUN not usable. (A Kid took it.)
Power of the Police!: Lvl 3.: Detective Gumshoe, Badd, and Kay Faraday come out and grab the opponent. If it connects, Meekins will wail on the opponent with them, doing 450,000 points of unscaled damage. Full Screen, 5 Frame OTG, makes Meekins able to use I LOST MY GUN! once more.
Lost My Badge!: LVL. 3 Meekins gets fired, and as a result, he loses all 3 of his hypers. However, Meekins does 4x the amount of damage, has double health, and improved normals. Cannot use SIR, YES SIR! after this hyper has started.

once again capcom strikes back with DLC. it's funny really because if you wait until march to get the full pack you will be paying 20$ which adds up to 60$ for the whole game. they space the Dlc to get more money inbetween the waiting period. they trully dont care for the fans.i hope somebody figures out a glitch to open up the DlC. well i'm a pretty good hacker, wish me luck.
The article neglects to mention that Nova is part of the Viewtiful Strange pack. Also, the "Unnamed" pack is actually called the "Weapon Expert" pack.
@80 You seem somewhat surprised, when the DLC was first leaked, I knew it was going to be a slow trickle.
On another note, when I got the pre-order DLC, there was a decent amount of download data, so you'll end up finding only placeholders for those mysterious on-disk DLC.

no bro those are on disc dlc its already been hacked and proven, and i also got the pre-order DLC and it was only 100km download code and nothing more, unlike MK dlc.
I have come to terms with companies like capcom getting into the dlc era,trying to make an extra profit.But what truly grinds my gears is when they string their customer along for months on end for a 10 second download code.
I laughed when I saw people selling their preorder costumes on ebay for $texas.

Krisan Thyme and Global-Trancethere, the guys who hacked into the original Marvel vs Capcom 3 to reveal that Jill and Shuma were partially completed and playable on the disc and if you can remember they had actual video. discovered that all of the DLC costumes are already on the disc just waiting to be unlocked.
so if you want to know how to hack them ur going to have to ask them,however since the capcop already know who they are,i'll doubt they will be able to give you anything
so without a doubt marvel alts>sf4(sfxtekken) alts.

I would have prefered a Mia alt for Maya given the time period he wears that in... but I guess the sister of his girlfriend is fine... or something...
But otherwise these are looking really nice. I'm willing to throw 4 bucks at Capcom every couple weeks to get these... wish they would have been 6 characters each like the pack I got for MvC3, though.

The fact that all of these costumes are ON THE DISC AND COMPLETED just proves that Capcom is utter crap nowadays when it comes to marketing and profit strategy.
This is like if you bought a new Derp brand car for $25,000. You're told that Derp Motors is offering you an optional twin turbo upgrade for $5,000. Then you find out on the internet that the car you bought is fully capable of twin turbo performance; if you had opted for the twin turbo upgrade, Derp motors only would've had to make a small physical adjustment in the engine and remotely make one change in the car's microchip. The thing is, is that Derp motors is only capable of making those two small adjustments and you can't unlock it yourself or with any outside mechanic.

My biggest problem with this is options. Capcom is forcing you to buy in packs. So im a Taskmaste user, I could care less about Zero, Hawkeye, and Trish but I HAVE to buy that pack just to get Taskmasters alt. I should'nt have to do that.
Also these costumes are considered colors so there is no color alternative when they pick the same alt. So If they pick it before me im stuck with the other colors.
It's not the cost that bothers me it's how they are selling them.
Costumes do not add anythng to gameplay experience and it's funny how somthing like Heroes and Heralds is free yet these costumes cost money. I'd gladly pay for Heroes and Heralds and just give me all free costumes.

IT seems like since SFIV this has been their marketing stratagy that revolved around selling these packs over the course of not one but two weeks at a time. Then tag on a discount pack for all of them after like 4 to 6 months pass by. It's as if they know people are gonna be too impatient to wait that long to get such a discount, either way they make a ton of money this way.
But the fact that they are already on disc makes me seeth. Again I love the costumes but damn Capcom don't be so f*ckin greedy. Jeeez.
It's a shame video games appeal to mostly kids, anyone who is 18 + needs to get togeather and fin a way t change the law so they can't do this. If the content is already on disc it should not be charged.
Please dont give scrubs anymore reason to play Jean. Seriously they know that costume is sentimental to a lot of our childhoods.

Greedcom went from rewarding players for their skill and effort, to holding existing content for ransom for a price.
