Infiltration, one of Korea's best Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition players, and a damn terrific Akuma user, has posted tier rankings for the game up on his blog. You can compare these rankings with the ones Arcadia Magazine posted back in late October, and the lists Daigo, Mago and Tokido did clear back at the start of the year.
With SSF4 AE v2012 hitting on December 13, 2011, things are sure to be changing again here in less than a month.
There are other things to check out on Infiltration's blog besides these rankings, as he has a healthy serving of matches and other gameplay stuff as well. So, if you're a fan of his, check out more stuff on his blog.

I like how everyone just puts Yang after Yun even though there are hardly any Yang players. I'd still say Fei Long is more dominant than Yang at least.

#13: Kinda similar to why Daigo and Mago put Seth low tier before, when they weren't aware of how great Seth can be (this being before they ever fought Poongko). Maybe Infiltration thought there could be a huge potential with Gouken.

How is cammy A+ and I just dont see anyone playing her anywhere in tournaments? I'm not even talking about good results, but I hardly see one, if you compare to all the S and A+ tier, all the other have those good players with them showing what they're capable of, even some of those on the A tier like Gief, Ken, Rog, Rufus are used way more often and gets better results than her.
Can someone explain to me why everyone praises Sakura as some high mid tier character and yet every single Sakura player not named Uryo always gets bodied? The "Cammy is still high tier" crap is even more ridiculous.
momochi wins a tourney with cody, now he's jumped from C to A. this is why tiers are garbage they always seem to be based on characters that get used the most. im not hating on cody hes my main just pointing out some fraudulence in making tier lists.
Cammy was a always a good character. Taking the TKCS away from her really wasn't a big deal, because she is still very capable of rushing down characters pretty well. She already has a decent walk speed and a decent FA and on top of that, they even gave her new links. Guess people decided to give up on her just because they took away the TKCS. Honestly, I don't think they should have done it, because it's not like it was an easy thing to do, but the idea is to try to balance the characters to what they believe is fair. The TKCS was really a big deal when I fought against so many Cammy players with Abel. Her mix-ups were more than enough problems to deal with. TKCS, to me, was just an added bonus to her.
Cammy is A+ tier for the following reasons:
- They say she's pretty good vs the twins
- DP is still very good.
- Good dash and walk speed (which can compensate for her small throw range)
- High damage combos, especially from frame traps.
People don't use her because there are better rushdown characters with divekicks (mainly twins but Seth and Akuma are also good). They're better because they have more offensive options than she does.
TKCS was broken because the guessing game when under pressure goes from string/trap/throw to string/trap/throw/divekick, and if she lands the divekick you can Sako/(Stein?) combo easily.
tkcs was her only safe move..
how the hell is she A tier when all her moves are punishable? she sucks. she can't chip, she has to use ex to have a safe dive kick, her normal dive kick sucks..
@ #16 totally agree I've been with gouken since vanilla in which he actually was hard to win with now he's much better and does tons of damage he just isn't for beginners and I think most don't use him because they can't MASH stuff out like they can with other characters and that's exactly why I like him his move set forces u to be creative and think a few moves ahead
I dont think Cammy should have her tkcs back, it was kinda dumb, but to say it was broken is so stupid that its hard to see how someone thinks that way, even in super the only player that won something to take notice was Sako, if her tkcs was broken but even Daigo and Nemo who tried to pick her up couldnt win consistently then I dont know what to say about Yun and Fei in AE, half assed players with those 2 looks good now, its borderline ridculous.
Even Kindevu gets his ass handled trying to play "A+ tier Cammy" in AE.
People talk about her TKKCS but forget how the real nerf was on her normal CS. only on the jump towards and only on the apex of her jump? wth capcom, they removed all the options she had.
Look up for these cammy players on youtube, Alioune sensei, Lynetto, Osugi bent, Nike5123 and youll see how they spend 90% of their EX bar on EX CS. She is dependant of this one move EX CS because she has no other options to get in at all. Quick spinning knuckle ironicaly is the slowest armor break in game and one of the slowest moves ever. They should at least make it faster (7-8 frames faster) or allow her CS on her neutral jump as well.
Cammy good against the twins? look at kazunozos match up list and youll see the 3-7 against yun.And you cant base a tier rank on 2 or 3 matchups.
On AE:2012 the twins are getting nerfed and all the turtles she has a bad matchup against are getting more bubffs than her. so if you think about the future (less than one month now) she will be even more screwed.
hmmm...Gouken...my main...A tier...I really dont know how I feel about this lol. I should be happy but I still think he has a disadvantage to Boxer, Rose, Dictator, Ibuki. I personally feel that those are bad matchups for him so for Infiltraion to consider him higher tier...He definitely knows something I dont know. And I been playin this guy since Super(Didnt have a main in vanilla). Well...time to speak to those in the srk gouken forums about this XD
i think the most outrageous thing is having ryu ahead of ken in the tier list..and i would put him in the B-B+ range
@jjjjjoyboy How is that outrageous. Ryu has always somewhat been a bit better in SF games. He has a better fireball, does more damage, although his combos are short, and he's just a good all around character. Unfortunately, half of the people you see using him online are scrubs and have no idea how much potential Ryu has when you truly master his basics.

how well ryu was compared to ken in past SF games has nothing to do with AE. Ken is much better in AE than ryu is imo. ryu suffers from a huge cr.mk nerf among other things, while ken has excellent mid range footsies and the ability to combo into hard knockdown to setup ambiguous crossups off of most of his combos.
and actually, we all have a VERY good idea of ryu's potential since we've seen daigo play him a million times.
@44: They haven't said anything about the hit/hurtboxes, just the the active frames for the move.
