I also loved Firebrand and RR first and foremost. Right now I'm playing with him in a
FB/Iron Fist/Nova team
&
x23 / Deadpool / FB team
I'm also finding strider / Hawkeye / Vergil to be the cheapest of the new. Especially together.
Firebrand is looking nice. Firebrand, Akuma, spencer... We in there!!! Oh and by the way fingercramp that word you were looking for was "Effective" :)
It does not matter that firebrand has short range normals they beat pretty much anything. The best comparision of this character to other is that he is a mix of jill and zero with a little bit of wolverine. He has also every move that jill does in a slightly different air based form but executing combos is like zero. I think he is more worth learning than jill though.
Jago's an idiot... He feels that he has to explain to us "lesser beings" that when a move is made faster, it has less frames of animation -_-...
Also, I'm pretty sure that when you start a sentence with "I'm not gonna state the obvious", you're not supposed to then state the obvious...

His meter building. luminous body and lv3 if he comes out later make it so easy to open the opponent up and so hard for the opposition, that needing 1 more combo than other characters may not even matter.
It's not a bad approach for a character.
He definitely needs work though.
Compared to Chun Li who also had bad damage in Vanilla, he has much better mobility and mix-ups, so he is worth the effort.
@6 So your sodium levels are sky high right now? You also cant assume that everyone that watches these videos knows what some of the terminology means. He was simply trying to educate.

I have nothing to be salty about... I just think the guy's a twat who thinks a little too highly of himself.
While it's true that not everyone who watches these vids will know what frame data is; Jago didn't even have to use that terminology. All the information he gave was that the moves got faster. He didn't need to mention frame data at all because he didn't give specifics.
Do you think he could do crossups when they're both up in the air to flying and then attacking on the other side?
He has decent damage, you can get 5.5k easy with using meter at the end. You could potentially get more once the game develops. His luminous body and "little hommie" hypers also don't block meter building. So he can build meter, do decent damage, and has unlimited mix up potential.
I want to play Firebrand, I really do. As a matter of fact he was my most anticipated character until Rocket Raccoon. But he just seems like you really have to play the S*** out of him to kill someone, his BnBs do UNDER 500k thats either 3 mixups or 2 mixups and a high damage DHC, that 3 bars of meter and a lot of work. While it seems like to BE killed it doesn't take much effort on the enemy's part.
I dunno about him... I just don't know.
