Don't address the haters. You said one thing that was the same as Max. Some people get butthurt over nothing (PETA is an example), just keep doing things the way you like doing them.

He actually brings up a really good point about the meter.
- You're gaining WAY less meter (As shown by wesker combo).
- Resets do have good use. You gain meter faster by doing resets than by big combos.
@4 Agree'd 100%. Gonna be enjoying that Casual Friday Costume. I think Morrigan is a great character personally. If you know how to use her that is, but then again every character is lethal in the hands of one that knows how to use them. Hence why I personally think "Tiers" is just plain stupid.
The way I see it: Tiers do exist. Just not at the level of play I'm at. So it doesn't really matter to me except who I'll see when I watch tournament streams.
Interesting points in this video, though.
(Justin said top tier was Vergil/Wesker/Strider, didn't watch this video but it'll be interesting what he'll say...
Other notables:
-Spencer is more or less untouched from Vanilla
-Doom got buffs while everyone else got nerfed
-Justin said Felicia is fun...does that equate to viable in his world?
-Sentinel is still Sentinel, and Max said he's still the best of the the super armor/big characters
-Phoenix, even with the nerfs(at least, I've heard) did pretty well at UNorcalVCapcom. Time will tell though - especially with all the anti-meter technology going around.
-Strange, just for being a "normal-health" Phoenix
-Firebrand has tons of ways to open people up, even if he isn't doin' damage, he's building meter
-Ghost Rider brings new meaning to fullscreen punish, I think 'safe'/smart players will capitalize on him
-Akuma still has Tatsu Loop w/ Level 2/3 Xfactor, so anchored Akuma is still a force to be reckoned with.
-C. Viper. Not gonna see much of her, but she didn't really get buffed or nerfed.
-Dormammu: he can teleport cancel his H + F. That is all.
-Magneto: got his gameplay changed, but can do 2.23k dmg in X Factor still. If you thought he was nerfed, think again.
-Wolverine: SWISS CHEESE! probably sums up what happened to Logan. Much like Dante and Mags, you're gonna have to actually learn the char this time around, and not mash!
Honorable mentions:
-Zoning characters. They're supposed to be buffed in UMVC3, but it'll take some time to see if that'll hold up.
-Dante is still intact, but not as scrub friendly. I think his players will move to the (supposedly) cheap Vergil.
-Ryu - will his insane amount of buffs make him go from Ryu to Daigo's Ryu? His damage input is definitely better, though.
-Captain America. Finally viable, possibly competitive!
-Storm: Got nothing but buffs, but I don't think she really stood out in Vanilla - Air X-factor will at least let her Ice Storm > Ice Storm, so that's something pretty significant.
-Taskmaster: Got some choice nerfs, but alot of his shiz is still intact. I honestly see Hawkeye taking his place for some reason I can't put my finger on...
-She-Hulk: Lost the DHC glitch, didn't gain too much; can she still make the grade?
-X-23: I see her replacing Wolverine, she's gained alot while he's lost alot - and there's lots of crazy tech for her going around as we speak.
-Nova, Iron Fist: Solid characters, but will they be able to shine with their weaknesses?
PS: I hope everyone else is at LEAST usable tier. Especially Hsien-ko. Not like they're gonna make a Darkstalkers game anytime soon.)
How does everyone building less meter in the game make Wesker less powerful? If only HE built less meter that would make him less powerful. That point doesn't make any sense, at all.
i like the video he thought out what he said and did not speak on blind anger like most people. @13 I think Hulk is also top tier because he has a usable projectile with gamma wave being a one second charge, armor on all types of gamma charge, and the biggest buff is that characters can't block after a air dash so getting in on Hulk could be impossible.
(hulk is pretty good, I probably shoulda put him in honorable mentions, but Max has said Sentinel is best 'super armor' character, so you COULD pick hulk, but why not just pick Sentinel(if we're talking purely tiers/effectiveness, NOT personal preference.)
But yeah, you're right, Hulk can Gamma Crush*2 w/ air X-factor, which should nearly kill ANYONE)
i like how everyone keeps forgetting wesker also TAKES more damage when his shades are cracked. which makes his health nerf even more important, actually.
I will use Vergil/Wesker/? Not because of their tiers. But because they are my favorite characters from RE and DMC. Screw haters dude, people use the characters that u love regardless of what people think, unless it's Dark Phoenix if u use her then your a fag. :)
@17 Max did say that sentinel is the best but there are a couple of tricks Hulk has that could make him better in my opinion. This is my opinion and it is biased because Hulk is my favorite character and my favorite super hero.
(@22 hulk isn't a bad choice at all dude, my Vanilla team was actually Wesker/Haggar/Hulk)
I'm calling it right now. Spiderman is shooting up the tier list. I think his high/low/crossup game is gonna become ridiculous now thanks to being able to cancel his specials into web zips. Canceling varied versions of spider sting into web zip should cross up most of the cast and serve as a third instant overhead option. Plus with the air dash nerf, he's now one of only two characters who can move around in the air quickly while blocking with his web zip(The other probably being Spencer.) and he's got his own otg now. Just watch.
wesker not being high tier? ok. wutever. but vergil not doing a lot of damage? i know he did not just say that.

Well players will have their favorites. I think Wesker is such a fin character.
I always played Cap Am, Spencer, Arthur, Skrull, Chris, X-23, Trish, Spidey, Thor, She-hulk because I like their gameplay.
Frank west Firebrand and all of the marvel cast coming aboard look like so much fun. there are already mumblings that Iron Fist and Firebrand aren't that good.
Vanilla has only been out less than 10 months and players are still finding things with Skrull At least I recall the UMVC3 showcase tournament last week there was a guy playing Skrull to his potential.
Wow that part about Wesker completely missed the point. Wesker can do high damage WITHOUT meter or X-factor, which will keep him at high tier.
It helps when UMvC3 introduces a lot higher damage scaling with higher hit combos, and Wesker hits so few times.
Either way this is wild speculation by a guy not at the top level.
I think you guys may be a bit mistaken about Ken's point about Wesker building less meter. It is understood that this meter gain reduction functions to the detriment of all the characters in the game, but the level of detriment is going to vary widely with each character. Each character in the game is played differently - different strategies, less hitstun deterioration, increased damage scaling on attacks, different combo length, etc. Because of this difference in play style, meter (or the lack thereof) may decrease a character's effectiveness. For example, the 10% decrease in meter gain may not be too bad for a character like Wolverine, but it is going to hit hard for Phoenix and Dante, two character's whose effectiveness is directly proportional to the amount of meter they gain. Now it is to be noted that Wesker does indeed inflict a massive amount of damage without meter, but this 10% reduction in meter gain is likely going to have a specific affect on him just like with every character (specifically due to his no-glasses damage buff; phantom dance is an automatic glasses removal and since it will take longer for him to be able to do a phantom dance, opposing players may be spared this inconvenience). Since not every potential player has had a chance to get their hands on the game and test out the characters, a drop in the tier list for Wesker is far from certain, but it makes sense that Ken would make note of it in his video to calm people's apprehension about our beloved friend Zack Morris.
Moral of the story, you guys need to start thinking more laterally.
Why do people think x23 replaces wolverine? She might be his clone but plays differently.
Requires way higher execution, doesnt have high/low mixup, no braindead forward momentum (her "teleport" is vulnerable), no scary divekick/airthrow spam... she's got better resets with the right lockdown assist tho.
Fireball characters with a nice assist can easyly beat wesker in this game.

3- This tier list are for the high level players.And they are like 2000 players. But most of us are mid-level players. So our tier list will obviously be different.

Good God, Hakansoilbarrel, can you ride Max's nuts any harder? Anything that Max thinks is good is just a personal opinion of how things are right now. I hate when people take what they say like the "be all end all" of MvC3 tier lists.
Is Sentinel better than Hulk and Nemesis? According to Max, yes. But not everybody agrees with him. But because he's Maximilian, it makes it 100% true. Please.
While it's nice to know what other people think are good, learn to judge good characters from the bad based on experience, not about what a "pro" thinks about it. It's perfectly fine to agree with him, just don't go acting like it's true simply because he says it.
@35/hlcws - no idea man. she will probably do a bit more damage, but nothing huge like some of the other characters can pull off. I doubt she'll be any better than mid to mid-high unless I'm really underestimating the amount of damage she can do in ultimate.
