Just found out in the cornere Ryu can do a simple B&B combo to rapid fire Hadoukens that linx to his lvl3 that can link into his Hurricane super. 1mil
Just a little extra info on the Wesker video:
- I calculated the damage boost (for a single hit) when his shades are off, and it gets increased by exactly 15%
- I assume Phantom Dance will be the preferred way of getting the shades off, because otherwise you need to lose life which makes the shades come off in stages.
- The speed boost is equally, if not more, important than the damage boost, because it allows for new combos, better mobility, etc.
- I did not main Wesker in vanilla, so I doubt I've even scratched the surface on what he can do without shades. It seems pretty crazy to me, especially considering he can use it basically the whole match at almost no cost (just 1 meter).
...So Capcom's idea to balance the game is to boost damage and make it even easier to kill in one combo? Wow.

why would they give weaker that ability? Wasn't he already strong in mvc3. wtf capcom why are u breaking this game already... Why doesn't wolverine have healing factor in beserker charge mode but donte does in devil trigger. capcom if ur going to be stupid then hand out stuff like this to all the characters. especially the unpopular characters u dumbazzes
I mained Wesker in vanilla and even I think his whole +15% deal is a bit much.
They should've lowered his base damage output to 15% below vanilla version. That way his shades mechanic would simply put him back where he was in vanilla, for the price of 1 bar/getting hit.
A friend of mine asked Niitsuma about why Wolverine and the others Weapon Xers dont have a healing factor. He said "Because they would be a god"

Well they are pretty godlike ^_^ Seriously though, Dormammu is looking sexy, and so is Strange. I'd like to see some Raccoon, Nova, Strider, Vergil, and Ghostrider tech. Some Logan tech too since I mained him since day one in vanilla.

i hope you know that wesker (even WITH all these buffs) is going to have a hell of a time getting in on the likes of Magneto and storm and.... well any other decent zoner... not to mention people who know how to block makes things alot harder....

Because a teleport that you can preform 3 times before he hits the ground and and instant gunshot that has a perfect 45% angle and almost instant startup is terrible against zoners

I love how ppl jump on a band wagon when they see something nice that someone else does with a character. Take #4 for example.. He probably wasn't going to use Dr strange until he saw this combo. Same thing with vanilla sentinel players.. I rarely see them online anymore. If you like a character, pick the character geez. Ppl don't realize that every character in this game has beastly combos and ways to win. Majority of them 4 sure Anyway! I can understand money matches and die hard torunament pros... but you casual competitive players, C'mon! When I see a justin wong, combofiend team copy online.. you get no respect. You're really just a follower scrub with no unique/creativity. Okay, I'm done venting.
@30 I agree and disagree. Wesker isnt that krazy. He can be with the right assist but at the same time... you see him a lot. You know they are just firing the shot over and over and over again. Check out combofiend vs.... I forgot who. It was in evo. He kept reading the shot, jumping up and throwing wesker as soon as he came out of the teleport. Cuz wesker players like to teleport upward mid screen. I'm a wesker player myself. He's a part of one of my 5 teams i use, and that helps me understand how to beat him. I dont think anyone had THAT much kraziness of a buff...
@31 Exactly, thats why im trying not to look at these combo videos yet because they spark a level of bias that prevents other characters from getting used.
I was gonna use Strange from the beguinning, just wanted to see the loop. But as for wesker, im not worried, I think there are just as many strong characters in this game that will make it difficult for him to dominate. I don't ever take what people say with face value until I try it out.
I have to say things are looking pretty good for UMVC3. As far as Wesker goes the dmg buff was needed. Wesker's dmg alone combos were mediocre if anything. Those 1 frame command grabs and teleports should have also been nerfed.

I'm pretty sure Capcom will do one of those sudden quick fix updates that adjusts life and nothing else to somehow balance things up. I bet my ass in 2 months there will be an update like "Wesker now has 900k-800k instead of 1.1k life". I mean it would already make sense to release the game like that, but no, they want to wait until every major tournament has half the players abusing on Wesker just like they did with the early Sentinel so they can make updates. Then every Wesker user will bitch about it and go back to Phoenix.
@38 You know thats like every video game under the sun. From Starcraft, to CoD, to WoW, multiplayer games get patched and updated quite often, you think a half a year update is bad. how about once a month? You should be thankful fighters get this kind of attention.
I hope the game does get patched one a month. So it can stay updated. They nerfed akuma to 750,000 health and he is no where near as powerful as wesker. I mean can Hagger, Hulk, or Thor even do a 766,000 combo without meter? That is bullshat! Wesker is not stronger than hulk or thor.
