Lyte Edge on NeoGAF uploaded an image of Jill and Shuma-Gorath's alternative outfits in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Was messing around in the character viewer and noticed that Jill and Shuma-Gorath have their DLC outfits unlocked right from the start:

Also got to play a whopping ONE match online. There's only 11 people listed on the ranked match board at the moment. The connection was awful (no bars), but we played anyway. Hopefully more people have it early by the weekend so the lobby system can be fully-tested.

Something annoying I noticed in arcade is that the game will stutter in the beginning of the match. MvC3 did not do this; I'm hoping this was a result of fight request being turned on.

Personally I rather would have wanted STARS Jill since they put in them for Chris and Wesker. RE3 one is sweet though.

So grotesque, hands down the scariest thing in the game.

I wouldn't even touch it, I would rather lose then get close to that thing.

Srsly, they're both looking pretty sick in those alts, specially Jill. You know they had to do it =P

I think I might be the ONLY person in the world who actually knows where that Shuma alt is from.

It's from Wolverine: First Class #12. Basically Cyclops and Kitty go off on some island and find a disciple of Shuma Gorath (Not Shuma himself)

RE3 is fantastic even though I wish it would have been her RE1 outfit instead, and Shumas only makes me wish that they would have given him the one tool he needed. (quicker/ longer dash's or a teleport)

As someone who got the Collectors edition, it's great to see that I'll have access to their DLC costumes right off the bat... even though I have nowhere near the dexterity for Jill and that I have to drop Shuma for the aforementioned reasons. He's just not cutting the mustard for me anymore.

That's the only issue this character was ever in and it's not a canon story. It's a really obscure alt, but Shuma doesn't have much else to work with. He's only even been in like 15 comics (literally).

Well there's only so much you can do with one of the MarvelVerse's most powerful known entities. If they brought him out with relative frequency he'd loose the impact he's supposed to have.
I know he's been a sort of 'fun'/ 'jokey' character in the MvC franchise, but he tends to be pretty serious business when he shows up in the comics.

A nice big and good Mystic event involving him would be great...

Hope they don't go overboard with the alts like the SF4 series. They always seem to choose the alts that obviously wasn't the better choice.

Actually the only time he was ever treated seriously was back in his first couple of appearances. Most of the time, he shows up for one or two issues, people talk about how they can sense his immense power, but then he's immediately sent back to his dimension (Sometimes he's even defeated off panel). Even corny comic relief villains last longer and pose more of a threat than Shuma has in the past 20 years.

The character never really got much respect. Even during the MvC3 launch party I remember a couple of Marvel writers were on the stream and when asked about Shuma, they pretty much admitted they didn't really care about him and didn't really know what he was up to currently.

I guess I should try and get into some current Dr. Strange stories other than the 70s stuff and the Doctor is In mini.

Still a bit salty about his lack of teleport in UMvC3... could have maybe been a contender.

It's a shame that's the case. I've always liked Shuma, he's just one of those characters you look at for the first time and go 'What the hell am I looking at? You're joking right?', and then do a little research and find out that he's canonically incredibly powerful (understatement of the year). I really would like to see him get some time in the limelight.

Anyway, I love both of these costumes. I had a feeling Jill would get her RE3 attire given that Nemesis is in the game. For Shuma I wasn't sure what to expect, but in the end I'm pleased with it.

There's a total of 12 alternate dlc costumes that come from three respective companies when you preorder. Then there's the first 6 alternates we got from Vanilla. And now we have two more being Jill and Shuma which totals 20. We have 50 characters, that brings us to 30 DLC alternate costumes we have not seen.

...oh wait, it was like this for every game until SFIV hit shelves.
That said, I do like that they adjusted the portraits on the lifebars, but I still won’t buy either of the characters or their costumes.

I like how after seeing the last few vanilla/ FTW tournaments how I'm being pulled in all these different directions again to try out all these other characters I could never really get a decent grasp on before.

No, really, this whole "pay for content which used to bee free"-mentality is highly disturbing imo. Year after year, annual figures show that publishers make more money than ever but they don’t give anything back to the costumer.

I will admit first I was a little disappointed that it wasn't STARS Jill but then I thought about it and it makes sense for the costume since Nemesis is in the game. The Shuma one though o.O damn Shuma you scary!

At first I thought the costumes are cool, then I saw the video and HOLY SH*T shuma scared me.

Anyways not bad, itll be interesting to see what the other characters special Alt's.

Im REALLY hoping for Non-henshin joe.
Nemesis's will be the white guy with giant clawed hand from jill's hyper in MvC2, I called it if its true!

That guy is tyrant from the first RE 1... I doubt that will be Nemesis alt.. If anything his alt would most likely be him with his shirt off, which is a nasty sight
