Updated: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 save bonus is Galactus mode, gameplay video

Updated: Nyoro discovered that the bonus for gamers who have a vanilla Marvel vs. Capcom 3 save file on their consoles is Galactus mode. You can also open this up though by acquiring 30,000 PP.

If you want to see what Galactus mode looks like in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, GameSpot put up a short gameplay video showing what's in store for players soon.

Hmmm...doesn't look super exciting because the moves are so slow and spaced out. Have to play it to really tell I guess.

On the first day this mode was revealed, I posted:

"Yes, this is a really stupid and pointless mode. Though some fans have a hard time seeing how stupid and pointless it is unless it's in the game. I guess better to include it than have them whine and complain about it not being there."

I stand by that statement.

That's... a bit disappointing, but I wasn't expecting much anyway. Hopefully all of the titles and icons we unlocked will be available from the start as well.

If I remember right... getting 30,000 PP isn't very hard at all. So basically Capcom doesn't seem to care too much about those who bought the original. "Here, have this silly mode early that anyone else can get too."

And you can unlock it for ONLY 30 000 PP? It doesn't really take thaaat long to reach that... this is disappointing really.

The only, and I mean ONLY, way this mode could be entertaining for me is if you can fight your friends locally. As in, I play Galactus, friend plays a normal team. Otherwise, I see myself and many others touching this 1 time, just to try it, then forgetting it exists.

Not much of a bonus either if everyone else can get the mode regardless. Personally would've preferred a voucher for a single piece of the inevitable dlc.

Also I understand they didnt have to give us a bonus at all, in fact I forgot they were going to until this article. However I wish they wouldnt use the word "bonus" to describe this, because it's a rather poor one. Just give it to everyone.

Neat concept, but "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh." as a bonus for the previous game save. The SF4 color filters were much better.

Oh man... I am severely disappointed by this news... I was hoping for a free alt costume pack or something on those lines for the bonus for having mvc3 vanilla.. :/

Even if the bonus was something awesome the people who bought vanilla still are not special since its just a save file that needs to be there so just borrow someone's or something.

What did you people expect when you can easily get whatever the bonus is by copying the data from a friend? Alt costume packs? Codes for Free DLC? And you expect that just because you brought a game?

Also I seem to remember a lot of people saying "Galactus should be playable!", what happened?

Speak for yourself, I got almost 200hrs. of play (according to the in-game time counter) out of vanilla MvC3. Not a waste at all. ;)

I tried it, and Galactus isn't very responsive, I know they wanted to be a "bit" fair, but boring as hell.

Well that's a bit disappointing but whatever I'm going to be spending so much time on this game its going to be ridiculous. Though I was hoping it was going to be early free access to Megaman as DLC just so I could get a good laugh from all the Megafans jaws on the floor.
