Gootecks and Mike Ross will be hosting a new episode of Cross Counter Live tonight starting at 10 p.m. PST / 1 a.m. EST. They'll welcome guests Lap Chi Duong, who ran the Canada Cup 2011, and Ian Cofino, the man behind the I Got Next fighting game documentary. Tip from Rafael2487.
I subscribed to the feed.
TBH I just thought of it as my donation to the event, and a possible raffle entry. The premium stream was just a positive aside.
My internet here isn't fast enough to stream 720p in real-time, and I already have adblock installed so the free stream was as good as it gets for me. But I still wanted to contribute to the event, especially for all their effort in bringing out all the EU, SG, KR and JP players for that awesome international team tournament. The $8.95 option allowed me to do just that.
I do get what people are pissed about, though. Having a 'premium option' shouldn't mean they should be intentionally trying to make the free version as crappy as possible.
Cross Counter did commercials right when they decided to do it themselves, instead of just airing pre-made stuff. At the end of the day, it's still a commercial, but Cross Counter's stuff definitely feels a lot less corporate, and more in-touch with the community.
gootecks looking kinda fruity in that thumbnail, lol
Over 7000 people are watching UMVC3 live instead of this.
Canada Cup's Lap Chi took blame and offered the full archive in HD free (Twitch TV).
