I don't get it. Any time you mention a place on an online leaderboard people mock you and call you ignorant for mentioning it, but then they idolize the arcade leaderboards.
Ah well. Can't wait for 2012 when these Yun players (minus Daigo) fall off the radar for good.
#2 Not sure if troll, but anyways, arcade is offline play, no lag, no ragequitting, no sweetpicking your opponents, none of the silly crap that manipulate your ranking, this is straight down business, no one wants to throw away 50/100yen so everyone is dead serious.
I just can't break the 30000 with my Cody card.
@5
I don't know if you play online at all, but it's pretty solid. I rarely get a laggy game and never get rage quits. And as for counterpicks, that's MORE likely to happen in an arcade.
Online is legit. Look at Wolfkrone. A guy who's been through the rounds online totally destroying all the top ranked arcade players like they were jokes.
@ butterknife, Also online there is boosting (one guy getting another friend to lose to boost his bp), DC cheat quitting, etc, basically any way of achieving some false status of achievement.
Normally on any game if its SF, COD or Fifa, the top ten online are normally cheats.
i guess there is only one warrior. Daigo was a warrior last time. Now since he has been passed, he's an U.Master again.
@10
And those cheaters are usually exposed anyway. But not all the leaderboards are topped by cheaters to begin with. Jozhear was the top ranked Vega and Gameinn was the top ranked Ryu, for example. I haven't looked at the leaderboards in a long time, but as I can recall, most of the top ranks were legit and I even ran into a few. The fake ones were Cat girl and some guy with his region set to South Africa.
For the 20th time... Sekiganryu = AkameRyu. The grandmaster Ryu from vanilla.
You guys have been so ignorant as of late. You people think EVERYTHING is trolling, since when did that even become a popular word? There is such a thing as not knowing what you're talking about or being stupid. I personally think that butterknife truly believes that online compares to Japanese arcades, he's not just trolling.
Ken!!! In the top 5? Wow. Michael Tan's metagame must be nuts. Now this guy should make a Ken tutorial.
@16 its not akameryu ,the problem was the translation back in vanilla his name can be read akameryu or sekiganryu,but the appropriate is sekinganryu which stand for red eye ryu.
also ive watched an old commented match where the guy was saying sekigan

Wonder why he's called that? Just for style points maybe?
