(Ok, #1, I'll take you on: I'll work on the East Coast, what will YOU bring to the table?
*Eyes Gleam like Haggar*)
(You start with stuff like Wednesday night fights, and then that turns into something bigger, and although we don't have arcades anymore, we do have LAN centers/gaming cafes.....I don't know the answer, but that's what I want to do when I graduate.
If you're really lost and don't know what to do, just know that being a good community member/fostering community strengthens us.
lol I hate that you brought up arcades, now I'm all revved up @-@)
Well I think if we as well as many others get this point across, we could actually revive the arcade scene. It seems like such a lovely time. Games are intense and stakes are high. Seemed everyone had much more fun. If it is to ever be a reality, we have to start somewhere. Spread the word to whomever you can.
Seth calls frank west anti air hyper at the end a lvl 3 and its only a lvl 1 lol.
@Hakansoilbarrel
Then what are you waiting for?! Join us! Do your little oiling up thingy and together with the rest of us, we can try to get these kind of games and excitement back to the arcades!
And I do agree that events like WNF is a good start but, I think we can push it a little further. I guess it will be the overall desire for it.
I mean online gaming is indeed a nice introduction into gaming but it does miss a lot of quality that arcades once delivered.
But yeah this game looks like it will be something. Capcom is on a roll but, I hope they do not drive themselves into the ground again. Doing a lot is good, but doing too much might hurt them.
Arcades might not return, but gaming is getting ever so bigger these days. More then it's ever been really. Thanks to new streaming technology and developing giants like Namco and Capcom actually paying close attention to the
F.G. community now, communities are makings happen all over the place. The scene is reviving in my eye's, just takes some enthusiastic individuals a little bit of money and a location. And there you have it, people will come to play.
(Well, that's the thing - I don't know if arcades CAN come back - that was basically a time where people could support their local arcade. Why can't we do that today except in select locations? Unprofitable and out of the way.
Japan still has arcades, so let's look at them: A comprehensive transit system and densely populated cities. It's not a chore or out of the way for people to go to the arcade there, and (I assume) they don't charge too much.
America on the other hand, everyone's all spread out. Look up Sprawl if you don't know what it is, but basically suburbs and places that aren't really populated kind of detract from the ability to run an arcade. Only the densest cities with good transportation(West Coast/Cali, East Coast/New York) do you really see anything resembling an arcade anymore.
How do we 'fix' the rest of America? Well, some places, the population will just be too low. Sorry :(. BUT, if we can get some decent, nation/state-wide transportation, that'd be a start. I'm talking trains and buses BTW. Cars are bad(not gonna explain unless requested.)
Anyway, just a little more musing from me on arcades!)
1st thing learned: Rocket Raccoon's Trap hyper stays active if it doesn't hit, and according to Seth, up to three or more can be laid down at once.
2nd: Rocket Raccoon's Level 3 hyper is mash-able
3rd: Rocket Raccoon's health is most likely 650,000 or lower
4th: Even though the benefits that come of Frank drinking, no one is likely to use this considering the huge punishable possibilities after he regurgitates.
I'll post more when i rewatch this
(@10, I'm still in school, lol - once I get out hopefully I can do something. Until then, I'm just cheering on the sidelines...)
@Long_Haired_Pad_God
I agree with you in many ways. The community is pretty strong nowadays but with the progression, came storm of crap that tarnishes it in a way.. some of it is just work of progress, other is just the majority being foolish I suppose. With online gaming you have the lag in some instances. There are times where a game is fun to the point where you may not mind it but for some other, it does kind of kill the mood a little. But then again online gaming is not perfect so it has awhile to go before everyone can truly appreciate it. Now I suppose owning a console is nice for just about everyone has one or knows someone who does so that they may play. And I know that there are some people who still do the whole going over a friend's house and playing some matches here and there but, I would think due to the online feature, that is a little less common now.
Also the ridiculous hate mail that some people get due to outplaying someone who cannot take defeat, at least with the arcades, you had to see your opponent face to face and since you were both in the same room, as well as on the same playing field, it was really only about skill at the end of the day.
I am not saying that arcade scene should come back and replace what we have now but I think having them both would make the community a little strong that it is now. Instead of just a few good players, we could have waves of them. :) But either way I see and respect your point of view.
@15
I wonder how long it stays down for. Or rather, if it just stays until you run into it.
@20
On that note, I wonder if it's possible to hyper cancel the vomiting like how you can hyper cancel Deadpool's teleporter malfunction.
@23 i dont know what answer youre looking for but whatever. if you mash there will be more hits. if you dont there wont. in the case of a cinematic hyper it will probably just do more damage.
@20
Well, if you think about it, Arthur might be able to XFC out of his armor breaking since you can XFC in the air now.
@29
Yeah, I was just about to say the same thing....that is still a ridiculous punishment for using a power up that the game gives you IMO
also for the guy who said Seth said you could set up to 3 traps, Seth actually corrects him self and says you can set up as many trap hypers as you want, not just 3, on the screen at a time. I think.
I hate to be THAT guy but, Rocket Raccoon looks like he could quite possibly be top tier... Now I know the game isn't out or anything yet but, just from these videos he looks very very good.
honestly I could be wrong but I think a lot of you guys are getting SSF4 dudley fever.....
so far I have read that
Vergil, Firebrand, Rocket Raccoon, Strider, Hawkeye, Dr. Strange and more then a few times ghost rider will be top tier....which we know just won't happen.
Wait till people really break this game down, Im sure if you got demos like this for some of the vanilla cast without you already knowing the character, you would cry top tier for 1/3 of them too
I was already planning on using Rocket when I heard he was going to be in UMvC3 as I love the little scamp to death, but after seeing him in action he's not the Rocket I wanted, but he's the Rocket I needed and I'm looking forward to experimenting with him.
He looks to fit my playstyle quite well and has a ton of good tools to help him pull it off to boot. I'm VERY excited to sit down with him and learn all of his delectable secrets come November 15th.
plz to god add megaman,ken from street fighter,venom and more ppl i just dont think ultimate marvel vs capcom is were it should be unlike its predecessor it had way more characters to offer if zero in the game have megaman too if ryu is in the game have ken too and spiderman have venom there too i was bumbed out when i first bought the game i wanted to play with everyone from mvc2 and more in this installment i think this game is unfinished it has great potential
Ok, enough with the rockety news already, he is a inter-galactic space raccoon guardian with some real "attitude".
No one wanted him and now we have him.
Now where the HELL is VENOM, GAMBIT, or CARNAGE.
Not to mention MMX.
@35
Yeah, but He's pretty vulnerable to a keep away game despite his traps, He's small but he almost dies from Ghost Riders level 3 in one video, his ult and 3 hits later,boom Rocket Raccoon is gone. I think his health is too low for him to be top tier, now that doesn't mean he's a bad character, I just can't see him top tier.
Now, high tier, I can see.
(RR csn fullscreen punish into hyper. That alone makes him a canidate to top tier. But that assumes much. We'll see. I think Ghost Rider is a shoo-in for top tier if zoning really is strong in UMVC3 - Nemesis probably gonna get some use because he's Capcom's Sentinel!)
lol @yes4me for letting a couple vids determine tier. LOLOLOLOLOLOLsimpleton
@38
Yeeeeeah! Glad you're not happy. Stay off the online, k? Thx
@42
I remember when phoenix came out and people said that too (not to say he is going to be top tier, and I was one of the few that said that about pheniox), I think he just has potential, it up to what people can find out once the game is release to determine where he is at regardless of health.
The point of breakdowns is too highlight the positives of a character. Of course they are gonna look top tier in fixed matches. The only top tier characters are those that look OBVIOUSLY top tier, despite speculation. DR. DOOM is a character that you can claim top tier right now, but not anyone else; especially not the new characters.
*still dreams of nationwide arcade scene returning*
