nah i dont think Charlie would be in. we already have Guile. now before you say "well we have like 50 shotos." each shoto in SSF4 plays differently though. with Charlie and Guile you have the same basic character with different looks and moves (Charlie one handed Sonic Boom)(two hit FK). im not gonna argue though as i dont know the characters either, so maybe your who knows. im just stating what i think. maybe Karin and Rolento/Hugo/or Arex (thats right i said Arex as in RX lol).

If they are adding 2 extra characters it would make sense if it were Alex and Hugo. Alex is the main characters of SF3 and Hugo is his rival. And Hugo is also standing in the background in SSF4.

I think I might get it: When they hacked the Arcade machines and only found data for Oni and Evil Ryu, everyone assumed that it must just be those two (plus the twins) that were new for AE. But I'm going to say that they had a console release planned long before anyone knew about it and so maybe they planned to release a further one or two characters on the consoles once it had cone out for that hence the missing slots and the lack of code/data on the arcade machines. It's a possibility anyway.

The only mistakes witcher 2 made was the drm WHICH they patched out ONLY because the drm (Securom) seemed to be causing a performance hit of up to 40%. People were using the exe from GOG.com which had no DRM. The Witcher 2 is a PC exclusive for now, and it is am amazing game. That's what you call true support.

It's obvious there are at least 2 other characters. Not revealing the true roster is probably in retaliation for those few who leaked Oni/Evil Ryu in AE months ago.
So either we'll find them once we play the game or there will be 2 New Challengers released by the end of Summer/Fall for $5 each. Capcom could be nice and give the people who buy the disk the New Characters as a Thank You.

It will be the two characters that people demand (assuming they are in fact adding 2 more characters) - Capcom does listen.
Most Likely: Urien is my other choice because I'd say he's the most popular SF3 character not in SFIV (and they want to tap into the SF3 market which is quite unhappy with SFIV).
Possible: Hugo + Alex and adding 2 more grapplers 'evens' things up a bit. Also Alex has appeared in TvC and it seems like that addition was an attempt to make another star character (he's also American and basically Hulk Hogan).
Unlikely (due to popularity compared to other characters): R.Mika + Elena.

If I was the Marketing Director for Capcom, I would most definitely add an additional character or two. You know why? If you add something different than what's in the Arcades, you will have arcade players buying the console version too. Especially in Japan.
If it was the same game as in the arcades, who in Japan would buy this?
So Capcom, hopefully you are smart and will add more characters, so the patient console players can give the finger to the arcade players who have been playing this for months.....

Everything about what you said is wrong.
First off, why would MARKETING director have any say on what goes on in the game. The role of MARKETING is advertising and the like. Even if you were director of MARKETING you wouldn't even be in a real position to make that request let alone have any power to do anything about that request.
2nd. The console vs arcade "debate" isn't so much "which is better" but "which culture are you trying to get at. Japan is one of the few (if not the only) places in the world where arcades are thriving, as opposed to dying (ie in the US). In addition arcades tend to be more popular than consoles. Plus having a couple dozen arcade cabinets near each other means a) you don't have to worry about lag online. b) you can actually talk and chill with the people you're playing. c) if you do a tournament, you don't really need to lug any equipment anywhere
3rd. Console players give arcade people the finger? Well let's look at SF4 as a whole. Vanilla started as an arcade (arcade 1 console 0). Then got ported to consoles with more characters (1-1). SSF4 went straight to consoles (1-2). Now SSF4 got ported to the arcades (2-2). But wait, the port didn't come at 100% to arcades because they held back 2 (albeit STUPID) characters to hype the console port of the arcade port (2-3). Consoles and given more than their fair share of fingers. Just cause you're on the wrong side of the finger right now, doesn't give you permission to be an egotistical douche.

I think Rolento / Elena. Both their stages are in the game and Rolento is very desired while Elena fulfills a huge demographic gap as well as a great female character amongst the five new guys as well as a very SFIV complimentary style that would fit her better than 3S.

Oh, and also not to mention the fact that the arcade cabinet was in demo mode. Ono just took a random picture of an AE cabinet, and that was the point of the picture. Not to hide a new character under flames.
Do you know how long it would take to wait for the right character, say, Alex, to get picked against Dhalsim? And after that, he'd have to sit there during their AI fight, camera ready, waiting for Dhalsim to use a fire move and snap a picture IF and WHEN Alex got hit with fire.

There is only one slot to place a character without disturbing the graphical layout of the charcater select screen; where Ono put the icon of a head.
Though it would be no trouble shifting the counter to accomodate the addition of an extra slot on the right side to square off the layout.
That said... There is already a very extensive and quite a large roster as is. No more is needed, but one or two more certainly won't hurt.
Personally... If this is a joke and no new charcater/s are added, no big deal. If something is added, then great... I could care less who or what since
it's basically more than they promised. You can't possibly get mad when you get more that what you were promised. They don't have to give you a thing in the first place.
I have a lot of favorites in teh SF series, they certainly can't put them all in ^^
But these are my thoughts and the same reasoning I applied to the upcoming Super Charcater addition, which I was pretty much dead on, minus a surprise here and there.
The aim is DUPLICATES that COUNTERACT
What that means is similar based character, whether in command motion, fighting style and/or attributes or all, (DUPLICATE) but perform their tasks differently.(COUNTERACT)
Example... (characters I saw needed an alternate pairing from Vanilla and they got them)
Balrog ----> Dudley (SSF4 addition) - Dudley was the suitable additon to duplicate a boxer with a different take. So generally you might either like Dudley or Balrog, cover the based for various players.
Zangief ----> T.Hawk (SSF4 addition) - this is obvious
Guile ----> Dee Jay (SSF4 addition) - obvious
Fei Long ----> Makoto (SSF4 addition) - not so obvious but look closely
Sagat ----> Adon (this might not appear obvious apart from the RIVAL factor, but as a user of both I see the similarities and the extreme counteraction between them)
Now to finish the listing.....
Gouken ----> Oni (SSF4AE addition)
Akuma ----> Evil Ryu (SSF4AE addition)
Yun ----> Yang (SSF4AE additionS)
Ryu ----> Ken
Bison ----> Vega
Chun Li ----> E. Honda

Sakura ----> Dan (think fighting attributes and not the clowning aspect)

I think the new characters are 'Master Chief' from the 'Halo' Universe, and 'Marcus Fenix' from 'Gears of War'. There's so many games doing crossover content these days. In fact, Capcom only used the Gears guys for Lost Planet 2.

I thought it was odd of capcom to release PSN avatars of certain characters out of the blue like they did, and Q was among one of the avatars released, as was R.Mika, Charlie, and Rolento, 3 other highly praised and wished characters to return, not to mention 2 on trollNO's list himself...
Q's transition into IV would be smooth. He can't parry anymore, which is what good Q's needed to do in order to succeed, but then again, no one could parry, so this means, in IV, you can safely dash punch... Since he has 3 variations to his dash punch, that's another good thing, as it could offer mix-ups... Have 1 or 2 of em break armor, and you're good in that area... Also, his slaps... One of the coolest moves in 3's and not to mention, when you EX'd it, he was beating the sh!t out of you... fiercely.. Then he has his command grab, which could set up a nasty juggle, which, in IV, could transition into him being able to combo to ultra/super or a good combo...
Q could have high health, and slow walk speed... and a damn story so we can know what or who he is.
His moves stay the same, and his U1 Deadly double Combination, U2 Total Destruction, Super Critical Combo Attack.
I believe Q would work in the IV series as a better character... Charge characters are among the better characters in IV, and well, with high health, and high damage, Q could be very very good....
not to mention, come on, he's Q, he lifts you up by the head and smashes you down on his knee, what more do you need?

Just pointing out that your opinion is based off nothing but fantasy, not any actual fact. It's not a crime to want more characters, anyone would. However, Capcom is a business and not a "fan-wanking machine." Just because you want something doesn't automatically make it a good idea for Capcom to do it. Maybe if you provided some measure of proof to back that up, it'd be a different story. But you, like a lot of other people unfortunately, are just being close minded and thinking only about what you want regardless of the real-world consequences for everyone else.

Its Alex guys, I've also gone through all characters with SIM in Training mode put the CPU on crouch and nobody i mean nobody fits that pose. I can't say for sure that's not ONI but I've never seen a boss in a demo mode and off their respective stage. Besides not one person has given up the fact that ono NEVER tweets pics without a hidden element, and he has always given explanation to the trolling eventually.
Q is ono, his super in 3rd strike where ono grabs the opponent and whispers trolling rumors into their ear they get so enraged by it the internally combust and explode.

It makes sense to tease it, whether it's true or not. DLC drops next week, E3 is next week...from a marketing standpoint, Ono knows damn well the power of hype. It may not be true at all. There may be two more characters in the mix. You, we, us...none know for sure, but they do. And if they tease it just to get a hundred and fifty paragraphs of responses out of two sentences of speaking, well, that's good marketing and proper utilization of one's userbase. Argue away...that's what Ono's counting on, and that's what makes him a project lead, not a troll.
It's Kratos guys. I too have pit all the characters against Sim, even Sim against Sim, all crouching while also taking it one step further. Fake mustache. You got it guys, apply the fake mustache input and it all becomes very clear. The only reason the clothes are so squiggled and weird is because before he was burned by Sim, Kratos was in Mortal Kombat, the one that just came out, and was always got burned while standing by Sektor. Seeing no difference in him and Sim, Kratos decided to crouch in an attempt to evade while at the same time trying to remove his beloved sash that his grand pappy gave him, causing a disturbed error motion in the game play.
Fast forward 3 and half minutes later and Ono walks in the room. He noticed the cabinet was frozen on said screen shot. The Blanka doll called for him as Ono never stood in one place quiet for too long unless he was surprised or in awe. Once Blanka doll stepped in and saw what Ono was staring at, he gave Ono an ultimatum. It's either the cabinet or me. With a troll smile Ono picked the little critter up and proved they can all live in harmony together through a picture. That's right folks, mystery solved. The REAL Ono is still trapped in that picture that every desperate hopeful fan f*ck brings back up. Sure they say it's only to guess at who is Sim burning, but you've been trolled! Of COURSE they aren't that idiotic to continue drooling over one simple picture, spanking the monkey and waiting for Alex or Charlie to begin appearing between the lines. Silly fools, they only bring it up over and over again for the real issue. How are we ever going to get my bean dip?
Well, whoever is added, it looks like a lot of people will be upset. I don't really care, SSFIV was my first SF game ever, so I have no opinion as to who the additions are. I do think there will be at least 1 female character added, it just makes sense.
But really, 5 or 6 new characters for $15, that's a fair deal.
Could it possible, will Elena resurface . If she did it would make the game complete.

I would like to see Hugo and Charlie. Hugo is already in the game (skycrawler, background), and the returning of charlie would be a good part of the story, not to say he is an interesting character, works like Abel but with some Guile stuff... it would be good. But I think Ono just trolling us again, CAPCOM said multiple times they plan no further expansions.

What's your deal with getting more characters? Scared to have to learn a new matchup?
I am suggesting it from a sales perspective on Capcom's end to make people want to purchase this DLC/game. To be honest, I could care less if Capcom adds more characters, however I know it would be really hype to see something different than what's offered in the Arcades currently with AE. (more stages, more online features, etc.)
I love SF, but this AE DLC isn't exciting me as much as SF4 to SSF4. If it offered things I haven't seen on Eventhubs.com or Youtube.com for months, maybe it will gain my interest again.
In the meantime, you might need to re-evalute your "real life consequences". LMAO.

I must say, you guys are really underestimating Capcom.
Judging from how many posts are in this thread and how fast they came.......why did so many people post since the game will be released soon? That example goes hand in hand with how hype right before something comes out can cause an explosion of attention gaining. This very thread makes me think there will be something.
Can you imagine how the sells would roll in if they announced Alex? I think it could be more effective than announcing them earlier, because the hype cannot die down that fast.
There could be no one, I don't know who it will be if it's anyone at all. But the character select screen is not even and now we get a picture of a trollface in one of the slots and it can't be a possible of a new character? It's a huge possibility, Capcom is a company and they know marketing better than you.

I think #144 HKsuperstar is spot on with his logic. You have to think of it in business and marketing terms. Not whether the character select screen looks a bit odd. Which to be honest it really doesn’t look that odd.

If we do get new characters maybe a little rebalancing could happen too since from all reports yun yang and fei are s-tier (yes, I know, I know, tier lists are BS, and we won't know until it comes out, etc… but honestly I find watching yun yang fei matches soooo boring. Akuma, Cammy, M Bison, Makato, etc. All much more interesting imo).
Sven made an interesting comment about rebalancing. It was very specifically worded and short “Arcade Edition is "working as intended" from a balance perspective.”
Makes me think he’s referring in the past tense to the actual version in the Arcade……wait, what the hell am I talking about. Capcom want their superstar Daigo to win Evo….silly me for thinking there would be rebalancing…

I'd like to see characters that are different, maybe bring a little more to the table than what's already being offered. I guess Alex would be alright, though I personally don't care for the guy. Charlie though? Buh, gimme a break. Stick him in the storyline if you want, but I'd rather see someone with more substance than Sonic Boom and Somersault. We've got Guile for that.
E3's just around the corner, so if there's anything to hear, it'll be then. If not, oh well.
Okay, so 3 people have admitted to playing their requested characters in their respective games. Not very good, as 50 people were requesting and only 3 responded. With that said, I am going to quote #170 for emphasis:
"Yes, lets put Elena in it so that everyone can stop playing her after a week. No I'm gonna main Elena forever! No you're not, just like you didn't play her in 3s"

So you've got 3 ppl out of 200 right? So how many do you think you'd get out of 2,000,000? Maybe 300,000?
That still injects some variety into the game right? Even if it's a low number isn't that better than not having the choice?
I main some pretty popular characters, but in endless battle I enjoy using El Fuerte, Hakan and Dan Hibiki.

Keep in mind that ppl may like the idea of how a given character could impact the game. Even if they don't plan to use them.
Example: I want, and would play Alex.
Example: I want Oro, but would not be using him. I just think he's cool and could further diversify the game.
super street fighter 4 is the first street fighter game ive played so idk wat chars they shud add. Any new characters by me is a good thing even if this is all just trolling.
@ 226 Elena is my main in Third Strike, so that's one more for your list. I'm just wondering how she'd pan out in the current Street Fighter. Other than that any old school character would be cool Poison, Hagger, Retsu etc.
I think the extra 2 characters will be revealed at E3 sometime next week and/or locked on DLC and you have to pay another $10 or $15 but the disc will have them unlocked at the start
