combofiend is one of the best players who rarely ever goes to majors but when he does he wins, he's one of the reasons I stick with Guy
If the SSF4 is AE, I'm surprised not to see Combofiend using more of Guy's improved c.LK and EX runs, esp. vs Ryu. You can see that Guy's s.MK is now a better poke, but it still sucks to see him get knocked out of EX Houzanto. Houzanto is supposed to be a fireball counter move, so why doesn't EX Houzanto beat out a fireball in a clutch situation (eg the last KO before Combofiend switches to Makoto)? If you've read the attack then EX should allow you to beat it. Guy shouldn't be spending Super meter just to get beat out for free by a special. Makes no sense to me.
Sorry Guyz, but for me, Alex Valley is and will always be a bad player! In this game, vs Makoto we've seen a lottt of random dragon punches, bad use of the EX Bar, guards oppening not confirmed by combos, no O.S, missed safe jumps (except one vs Guy) any many other mistakes, GG toCombofiend who did his work!
Notice that the match-up (Ryu Vs Makoto) is really not for Makoto.
Gg again to combofiend!

I hope you are trolling there, calling someone that made it the grand finals bad. Many mistakes made from both sides no one is perfect.
@5, agreed. Just kind of weird and hard to think about. It almost seems though that Phoenix doesn't bridge the gap between a good player and a bad player, it seems more so that phoenix makes your victories more decisive and your losses the same. If you lose, you lose hard, and if you win, well... This is considering high level play, of course.
@7, I have no idea what you are talking about. And ALSO Dan does not Suck in SSf4, he's just a bit harder to win with. He has all the tools, just has to spend a lot of meter to do damage.
@9 Alex Valle did a LOT of incredibly smart things in that match, it wasn't EVO grand Finals, but it was still an incredibly talented match on BOTH sides. I didn't see any random dragon punches at all, and tons of OS's, I call ridiculous BS. Also, he didn't underestimate Combofiend, the smartest decision of all.
Combofiend tore it up. I don't get how Valle thinks he's the rushdown king when he plays one of the most defensive characters in the game. Combofiend plays all the real rushdown characters. Who's the real rushdown king?
@#15
Probably to highlight the fact hes always trying to attack, if you havent noticed when ever valle can get in he does and usually doesnt back off. Which is his downfall imo, Valle special just walk up ex tatsu, gamble aggressive srks, ST style ryu pressure. While it may seem like hes a bit random but that how his playstyle is.
Combofiend does play all the real rushdown characters but hes a surprisingly patient before going nuts.
So in this case its more based on the player and not the character choices. Valle crazy enough to pressure gief players constantly when giving the chance.
Guy has an 5 hit block string and gets 0 chip damage....Ryu throws 1 projectile and chips for the win...BS! They need to take out projectile chip damage.
@#18
Lol just about every special move in the game will cause chip damage, so why compare guy using normals to ryu using a special as justification to take out projectile chip lol. Guy has access to the shoulder charge and the running slide/hop kick after his block strings if he really wanted to risk trying to do some chip damage.
