I couldn't care less about achievements. I think Capcom could have pushed the boat out a bit with regards to content for AE on console. 4 characters is ok, but they could have put a couple more in. They could have put another online component in there, maybe re-introduced championship mode. More stages would have been real nice though. They really should have included a handful of new stages for the game.
Shame on you Capcom.

The one they missed was to follow one person on the leaderboards. Insignificant, but an easy way to get 10 points.
Achievements: The bane of real rewards for the player this generation of gaming
@16 You say that like it's a bad thing. Without achis, I would never have played games on a difficulty other than the easiest one. I would've given up on doing the trials in vanilla, and I would still be a newb. Without achis, I wouldn't have been what I am today. It's an easy way to "make" more people play through more of your game.
yall have no idea how many people would pick MGS4 back up just for ach/tro. replay value is a plus, but there comes to it also a sense of a challenge. did any of you all even attempt MGS4 on the hardest diff? no? my point exactly...
i've beaten through it on hard, but it doesn't really give me any incentive to even try the hardest.
so the DLC will give us an additional 250 achievement point?
Does that mean that the disc version will have 1250 out of the box?
@17
Like I said, most of the time achievements are just a cheap way to artificially increase the "replay value" of a game instead of actually adding more or better content in the first place. I like replayabillity in games, in fact that's one of the main criteria I take into account when deciding whether I buy a game or just rent it for a weekend. But I like to replay games that actually make me want to replay them because of the content itself, not because of an achievement that doesn't add anything to the actual game.
Personally, replaying a game that otherwise I wouldn't have replayed, just because of an achievement, feels more like a chore than anything else. But to each its own, if people like to go achievement hunting just for the sake of it, good for them.
OH!!! They missed one. :/ The second last. :P Anyway it doesn't look to different from those in SFIV.
