I am not sure the cyber-punk aesthetic on display in, for example, the Guile one fits the Street Fighter aesthetic very well. I would not want too many of the stages to follow a sort of Hollywood shorthand for "this is dramatic"—e.g., dark, spotty artificial light, in the rain, et cetera.
However, I would probably enjoy a return to character-based stages in the future. With few exceptions, the SFIV stages and associated theme songs (as opposed to the character theme songs) did not really live up to the SFII classics.

Actually they did remake a SF4 stage. Its in the thread that was linked in this post.
That person also made an animation of the stage--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Sxa1M...

Thats not what I meant. I wished Capcom would have took classic character stages and remade them for the SF4 series. I don't like the stages now. I miss Ken (The pier) Honda (Bathhouse) Balrog (Casino). In the artwork for SF4 you could see that they started out making character stages, because Guile and Sagat had a stage, but they scrapped that idea.
Obviously Chun-Li, Guile, Blanka, Gen, and Dhalsim kinda have stages, but I think it was the music that people loved as well. I can't play with the character music all the time, because you would here ryu's theme way to much. Had it been specific to the stage that would have been much better.
I would gladly pay for every stage and I know I'm not the only one. Capcom missed out on a chance to make some dough.

Ah I see. I agree, though I would be satisfied if they just recreated a likeness of stages from 2 which they did to some degree. I was happy they did a sort of recreation of one of the SF1 stages (train stage) which was also in Alpha. But yea, Id rather have each character have their own stage plus the remixed sf2 music per stage. I remember when I use to play ranked a lot, I had the character music turned on and yea...Ryu for days! Turned it off after that. Now I just play endless so I fight a large variety of characters. Turning it on isnt so bad anymore:)
Cinderkin and R4HU1> I totally agree this would have been so awesome for SF4!!!
I commend this dude for his awesome work on these stages
nice stuff
