Day 3 of the Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament in Chicago, Illinois has kicked off and the Level|Up team is on site to provide a stream for viewers at home. This event will be taking place all weekend long. You can also chat with other EventHubs members about the stream by visiting this link.
Level|Up at their best, yet again. I hope they won't be the only team doing EVO 'cause it'd be another huge letdown. Many people having black screen problem from the stream and they say they can't do anything about it... Awesome.
The character auction tournament was such a good idea. Props to Keits on that, very entertaining.
They pulled 16 characters from a hat, then had people literally bid on them (the top characters went for like $25-27 I think). Once a player wins a bid on that character, they add the bid to the prize for the tourney then get to use that character for the tournament.
Yea, Love the auction tourneys:) MVC3 auction will be interesting. Trons, Akumas, and any other high tier assist will go premium. Wonder how that will work out if only one per characters is allowed. Or are they allowing multiple characters since its teams...
oops meant the little asian ryu player on pad haha he was tweaked
Special Event #3 is MvC3 Character Auction. This is a 32-man single game, single elimination tournament. It pays top 2, 70/30%. To enter, you must be at the auction. The auctioneer will pull a team of three MvC3 characters with their assist types pre-selected. The highest bidder may enter the tournament with his price bid as his entry fee with the team and assists he purchased.
12:00AM Midnight – Marvel vs Capcom 3 Team of Characters Auction Event (32 players)
(posted on the UFGT website)
so did Guilty win or lose I was watching that match before it just shut off all of a sudden. These guys better find a better venue next year so many problems with this stream.
Cat DSP should be uploading ST footage from the tourney as well if any one is interested.
Pig_Red
that's the word, I couldn't hear it over all the commotion, but other people in the stream said they did
Big ups to Deadliest warriors for the mystery game. Hilariosu.
Anyone know the results for SFII? Is it over already? Is there footage recorded?
#40
DSP has recorded it and it's posted on his DSP street fighter channel.
#41
Do you know around what time was the SFII? I was busy all day and wasn't able to watch.
Id rather watch the live stream recording because I enjoy the commentary over DSP's whining.
Man I tried to go back playing mvc3 today because watching top players play made me want to play. But I gave up easily because I couldn't do combos.
What happened to jwong? He was afraid to go random in MvC3 finals again? Oh no wonder, Noel Brown was not even in top 8.
Hell yeah, Justin Wong
@ 68
Justin Wong said in a later interview that, when he said Adon sucked, he was talking about an early version of Super (before the game came out). So in the pre-release version of Super, Adon did suck.
Kudoes to Justin Wong in this tourney. Damn he bodied everyone.
@69 Justin Wong is making excuses, that early version of Super he played was the "Press" version because the game was already completed when they revealed all the characters. After release Capcom sent out a memo stating what we were playing was the finished product and not an incomplete game. If your wondering if I'm telling the truth you ask someone with a JTAG console about if the game was changed or not.
Sigh people are still going on what justin said about one character before the game was released. He called makoto trash yet still uses her time to time. Pre-released version adon or not, No one had the opportunity to break in any new characters at the time. People still harping about Justin's opinion in one interview long ago need to move on, he isnt the only player that thought something about a character just to be wrong months down the line.
Once was a time people thought viper was trash, fei long was mediocre, ryu being one of the best, dudley being near god status, juri was gonna be so good and easy to use.
Shouldnt be taking these early quick assumptions as the absolute truth and still hold it against someone after what? a year or so ago. Atleast the Yun complaints are a bit solid seeing how it been like 5 months now, but just wait until people get to put in time into training mode on consoles before accepting anyone final judgement on a character.
@Everyone
Who cares?
Opinions are like A-holes, everyone has one. Just take it for what it is and move on, it's not like he says "S**T BE GOLD!" and it turns to gold. He's human, people get things wrong somtimes believe it or not, perhaps you guys were wrong at one time even though you probably think otherwise.
Just sayin.
Justin seems to be on a roll. Winning MvC3, SSF4 and placing 3rd for Mortal Kombat is pretty impressive. His Adon seems pretty strong, but I wonder if he would win a mirror match against Gamerbee. Anyhow, thanks for streaming this tourney, it was a good one.
@73
Perfect! You've nailed it! And in three months we'll add the....
Yun/Yang mass hysteria to that list. We'll all look back and laugh about a time when 75% of the SF community were reduced to quivering cowards over a character being "Too Strong!"
Lol. ;)
Finally a decent tournament in a long time. Looking forward to it!
