A new interview talking with DMG|Inthul, who made a big splash at East Coast Throwdown 2 last year with his pad Fei Long sat down for a discussion with Jason24cf. Jason24cf: Since you mentioned DMG winning more and more, there have been some players who have said DMG stands for “Delusional Method Gaming” what are your feelings about this statement?
Inthul: Hmmm, I never heard it called that. I think people glorify good players too much and allow too much fear into them selves when playing against them. One of the biggest things that bother’s me at tournaments is when people say after I beat them in a match “Well it was Inthul I wasn’t expecting to win anyway”. People should never say that. If they call us “delusional” cause we want to be the best and beat everyone then they are condition themselves to never achieving what we want. I want to see more people who feel the same way as us. More beasts that refuse to lose to anyone.
Jason24cf: Now after it’s all said and done EVO will be just around the corner. You may not know this but Starnab, Evans and Mago have all said to me that they will be at EVO2K11. Are you looking forward to facing those Fei’s in a mirror match?
Inthul: Definitely! I want to fight them all, as many times as possible. I am really excited to see Starnab again and to meet Mago. Also not to be rude, I do watch Evans matches also to see if I can learn anything from his play from time to time. It will be nice to meet him too.
I ran into Inthul in ranked once. Cool guy. One of the only players who actually uses the mic online.
It's nice to see someone else believe in an "any given Sunday" ethos with regard to your own level of skill. Never acquiese defeat.
I'm liking him. Seems very down-to-earth.
yeah i agree this guy defines what the community should embody as serious competitors. good luck intho!
I was once i big fan of inthul untill i met him in ranked one day. he destroyed me the first to rounds. i had the matchs set best of 5. i was in the mindset of just accepting my lose because im fighting him but i got rid of that mindset and started giving it my all. i manged to beat him the third round. forth round comes and i baited his ex chicken wing and reaction ultrad him and he ragequited at that moment he got hit. i play gouken btw. i pulled a bullcat vs mago on him and i was jumping for joy only so c our connection get lost. I lost alot of respect for him since then and i only wish i could upload the match but quited matchs are not recorded. its a dam shame.............. and no it was not lagging at all. he sure didnt leave when he was kicking my ass the first two rounds lol. sorry i typed this on my phone.....
sorry for my gross miss-spell i meant no disrespect. *inthul*
@8 I think the only way to over come this fear is consistant play with pro gamers. People who tend to not have access to playing a lot of Top playrs consistantly have a difficult time controlling their fear and defeatist attitude or as Justin Wong would call "The Justin Wong Factor."
Many players who are pros have over came their fears because they play people like Justin almost all the time on a regular. At least this is what I think.
I don't like how he described his loss to Justin. He just made an excuse about being hung over. Even then, if that's true, it's not why and how he lost. He lost and that is because he had no footsies in that match.
I've seen a lot of matches and Inthul and he's a very good player. He's best at rushdown and he's very good on getting in on his opponents. But when it comes down to a fundamentals and players aren't going to let him rushdown, Inthul is behind some of the top players.
Justin exploited that and played a poking game and Inthul had no real answers to that. That is why he lost and the fact that Inthul couldn't point that out makes me believe that he's destined for 2nd place for life.
@MrGPhantome I agree with are argument but only half way. For the record Inthul beat Justin at Winter Brawl 4 straights rnds. He almost won 2 rnd with a perfect. Justin Picked Rufus first then he picked Balrog and Inthul beat Justin pretty badly.
That said Inthul has good footsies. His main problem and as his friend I tell him all the time "if you have a life advantage lame it out" He fails to do so and continues on with his rush down play. If you pay close attention again to the replay Inthul had match point 3 times and in each rnd he had a life lead but he continued to rush Justin down. Had he just stepped back and make Justin come to him and he would have won the match.
Why do you think Justin took so long to pick a character? The reason is because Inthul beat Justin so badly the last time they fought at winter brawl. That said he said it was a lesson learned and he won’t let it happen again.
I like his mentality, its the same way I feel. I wouldn't care who's on the other stick, I always feel like I have a chance to win even if the other guy is "Better". My feelings are, "I don't have to play better than him all the time, I just need to play better than him right now."
