its always been that long.

If your knocked down while it's activated and you stand up most of the hits will loop back and continue making it seem longer so if your hit at the last few frames you will take at least 16 hits but it will say out longer.

It's weird that they had the VAs do extra lines just for this promo match. It does look nice.

On SF4:PC, there were various matches that served as benchmark tests to see if your PC was capable to handle the game. I wouldn't mind having this match as a benchmark test for SSF4:AE PC. lol It seems good enough.

I play without HUD all the time. I have got so used to it, I hate seeing the HUD nowadays. Also, there is a sound cue for health, rage meter, and full ex bars (super). Generally I play off instinct in between the supper meter being filled. Much more interesting for me.
