i started using sakura more since ssf4 launch since she got her U2, U1 was kinda of difficult for me to time back then so i kind of stayed away from her in vanilla. Her combos and mix-ups are fun to do and though U1 is easier for me to time now, i still prefer U2 for guaranteed hit after ex tatsu. I can see how Uryo inspired some players, he makes her links look like target combos.

My main is Abel, but one day I decided to play with Sakura to see why people liked playing with her. Surprisingly, it was pretty fun to play with her and I won my first 8 matches with her in a row. I'm considering changing my main to her, but I'm not sure yet. Maybe she'll be a secondary, but I do love using her now.

I'm pretty sure it's always been like that. The only time I noticed that the damage was pretty damn high was when he hit Dhalsim with Ex Shoryuken without canceling into it then FADCING into a FP then into the loop.
Even then Dhaslim's health is pretty low. It's still a lot of damage, but just not as much as it seems.
To play Sakura is fun yes, but sometimes you lose with her and you don't know what you did wrong. You just got shutdown in the corner with 3 bars and you know you can't mash that Ex Uppercut because it's like 7 frames slow.
Frustrating.

Yeh, thats actually not that hard. I mean Sakura wasnt good in super, but she wasnt bad either. She had great damage, super long combos and decent mixups. Most just aren't educated in her stuff though.
She can FADC off of a normal shoryuken into an extended combo, doesn't even have to be EX. EX just makes it super easy.
For the people who think that Sakura is good now though, she isn't. Its just F*CKING URYO, he is a beast. She is better, but will still have some of the same limitations she always has had.
People just feel that she is good when they see vids like this because her and Dudley either rape face or get shut down.
although Sakura does have a few decent pokes a really fast overhead and a decent anti air, as-well as frame traps and mixups, she can just get shut down pretty bad at higher levels.
sakura should be removed from the game ,uryo the god should get back to real play:C Viper.

roarmonster, while I get your point, she has changed in quite some ways that you have not experienced yet. Why don't we wait until AE hits until we make statements who is good and who is not?
Saw a Sakura beasting in Safari the other day (40k BP, Momomame), got a 25 streak and I didn't see him dropping the infamous combo once! Also in corner, she can do *insert long BnB* into LP SRK into U2, not sure whether that is doable in Super.
I love URYO's Sakura. She's been my main since the Alpha days. I'm very happy with the buffs. The page that explains the buffs wasn't too specific though. But yeah, great stuff. I'm miserable when it comes to FADCing out of EX Shououken (it would be awesome if EX Shououken had a little projectile-canceling wave like it does in MVC2, of course, I'm not suggesting it as something fair).

It is doable in super. Its one of the main factors of why i choose it over Ultra 1. u can also do it off a mid screen anti air lp shou. its just got crappy damage

Sakura didn't get that stronger, read the changes guys.
It's primarily small fixes (like, her flying shunpu now hits twice, it was ridiculous it only hit once for 50 damage) combined with the fact that lots of characters got weaker in AE.
She's basically the same, just better across the boards.
Man do I hate the Dhalsim matchup. Can't wait for AE. Been maining Sakura since vanilla.
Some of you guys really do not know what you are talking about and sound really stupid to be honest. Its not the fact that she got better, its just that all of her matchups got easier across the broad. Blanka is easier because you can deal he cant chip you with blanka balls. Cammy is easier because she cant do her divekick so close to the ground, Gulie is easier because his damage is lowered and Sakura hitboxs on some of her normals are better. Get Ryu in the Corner and its over for Ryu because he cant air tatsu out. Zangief is easier because he has a hard time getting to her now.
Theres a reason why Daigo, Mago, Tokido, and Kindevu put her so high on their Tier list. Uryo said he didnt play her at tournaments in super because her matchups were so bad in that game. She had good options and did great damage but because of the match ups it was tough. When AE came out he went on a 77 game winning steak or something like that. I played her in a big tournament in Chicago and got 5th place. I beat one of the best Zangiefs in the midwest, a blanka next, then a Cammy, then a Ryu (he didnt win a single round). Before the tournament I was on a 17 game winnig streak before I got up to eat and didnt lose.
Her buffs were a help, no lie. But its the match ups and how easy they got that makes her even more of a danger. Daigo said it. Tokido said it. They both did in a interview.
So it either you really suck with her, or you dont play her and your playing garbage Sakura players. But she will be a force in AE.
Yea sak does a lot of damage especially if she jumps in and hit youshe can easily do 360 with no meter. 450 with one meter and close to 600 with this combo jump in fierce, st fierce, ex dp, fdca on 5th of dp, st meduim kick; lt tatsu, st fierce, lt tatsu, cr fierce, fierce dp...
This works on majority of the cast if they don't. Get push back to far..this won't work on juri her hit box is weird.

But why would anyone pick her over the god of all rush-down characters Yun? Sure, she can zone a bit, but zoning's a virtual death sentence now.

yes, that is doable in super. Im not making assumptions as to who is good or not, a lot of people are making assumptions that she has gotten a lot more then she did. Most of the stuff that people are acting surprised about was doable in super....
Uryo is the reason my friend mains Sakura ;)
