I speak english and what is this?
Cool to see they're into the game. =D
Magneto is so crappy online... nothing works, except disrupter spam
Man, I love XFactor, but as hard as it may have been to balance Dark Phoenix, I think they have to go back to the lab.
Phoenix is the closest thing to true OP, game-breaking in this game. One year time, we can expect non-stop Phoenix shenanigans.
Phoenix: Nothing like having making up for your other characters getting killed in a blink than having a OP character last to make up for your lack of defense.
Seriously though. Do people not get that she's really this powerful from the source.
To balance her correctly would be to ONLY have her vs a team of 3. Which usually happens anyway.
The Teleport, flight and overhead is like wow, She has alot of tools.
Sorry in Marvel lore, I cant think of ANYONE that should be able to take Dark Phoenix one on one.
Just because these guys are bosses at some games don't mean all games can be conquered by them or they would even try and what's interesting is who exactly is gonna represent japan 'cause I think the best Japanese players in MVC3 are not the ones we are familiar with in Tekken, Street Fighter or Blaz Blue...
I wonder what the European , Australian and Taiwanese players are going to bring forward........
These two guys are just familiar faces amongst gamers nothing more , it just looks like causal average man game play so don't try to use these guys to judge any real Japanese players level.....
What mode did they use??? In this video I saw the player was training and "here comes a new character" appeared.
I can see them losing this EVO, but Next EVO or maybe even Seasons Beatings where they would have had more time to learn the game some more i can see them being a threat.
I did like how he used Amaterasu sword mode as default most of the time.
I generally think people barely exploit what Ammy can do in this game.
Headbutts, otg with sword, Okami Shuffle, ice shot for some extra chip and that is it. Some sleep for DHC and the occasional paper/counter for some players.

Tiger Shot! Tiger Shot! Low Tiger Shot! Tiger Shot! Low Tiger Shot! Tiger Canon!
Oh wow, Mago is already thinking of counterpicking JSMaster's Balrog with Sagat.. The guy must have left a pretty good impression in Canada :)
"if thats the skill level of the japanese players in mvc3, they will get bodied at the upcoming evo... but well they will destroy the us players at ae so its balanced :D"
that's what you guys said after watch tokido play couple months ago. and got bodied by tokido at Final Round.
remember this tread? people said tokido has no chance against American players?
oh man, i'm SPIDERTAO, the last guy they played before they stopped the stream... and i can't believe u guys are harsh making fun of their gameplay!!! tokido is AMAZING. he's such a good player. i was so happy i beat his account when i played him last weekend but it turns out it's mago. mago's played the game for like two weeks man. take it easy on him. these guys are better than everyone in the world except for a select few for the time they've ACTUALLY spent playing the game. will they get "Bodied" by TOP american players? probably. i don't think the highest japanese player in mvc3 is at the same level of the top american players. HOWEVER, the average level of gameplay on xbox live japan is WAYYYYY better than the average level of gameplay for someone of the same number of games played in the states. that's just fact. the casual level here is ridiculously high. also, what kind of crazy combo's do u want with their teams? they're all easy combos but the zoning and blocking and game mechanics are all top notch. these guys are only gonna get better and there ARE good japanese players. fantastic ones. u just have to play them to really understand. u can have the best rushdown in the world and someone will zone ur ass DOWN. i'm really sad they hate me though.. cuz of the lag lol. anyway, my estimate is that tokido is probably better than 90% of american players and will be better than at least 75% of the people who will enter mvc3 in evo.
mvc2 experience is worth balls in mvc3 btw
honestly, i think they're just a little bit weaker in mvc3 than they are in sf4. tokido anyway, mago IS inexperienced, but with some practice, he'll be fine. i expect them to make a lot of money in money matches this evo but to lose to top players only
@spotlessden
ugh dont be stupid man, final round was the FIRST real tournament for the game, it was anybodies game at that point. Combofiend won man, and yeah I know he is really good, but now he wouldnt do that well, even though he got a lot better.
Tokido looks solid, but not special. The really high level players of America just seem FASTER at this game, these guys play a whole different style, a much slower, more methodical style, and I really do think they will get stopped on when evo comes around.
also, while the TOP level american guys seem faster, which they do. being FAST doesn't mean u necessarily have a solid defense. i honestly feel these guys have extremely GOOD defensive zoning skills. and hitting them with mixups is unbelievably difficult. i dunno where this idea of having them fight against ur country's best players comes from. who cares if they get beasted on by jwong? the bottom line is that these top japanese players are gonna be better than 80-90% of all american players and only the top players in your country will be able to win in a set vs them. it's just like when u guys rag on canada (where i'm from) but the top canadian players will still beat 80% of american players except the select few
theyre not as good as some of te top americans but you cant sit there and say they suck, there is still dhc glitches and x-factors in this game so anyone can make it happen. so stop hating on mago and tokido cuz i guarantee they would probably beat half of the haters on here.
@ATM_SPIDERTAO
You're point is EXTREMELY stupid, maybe its just because you are coming from a weaker fighting game country like Canada, so you twisted things in your brain. Yeah, a few players in Canada can beat 85% of American players, but almost all American players can beat about 90% of Canadian players. Same goes for the Japanese in the case of MvC3. I am somewhat bemused by your stupid.
And I really want Phoenix to be reconstructed, she is far too much of a wild factor even in the higher levels, and even without that wild factor she is extremely, extremely strong. Don't say "OH BUT NONE OF THE PHOENIX PLAYERS ARE TOP SO SHE CANT BE THAT AMAZING DERP DERP DERP"
Floe beat Justin Wong. By picking Phoenix. Players that aren't nearly as good as the top do well, if the top players used her she would be incredible. They probably don't because it completely changes the game, which requires a slight learning curve but is also no fun, I would even venture to say a bit dirty
@#26
You had to mention Thanos, now im reminded how bitter i am he wasnt in this game. Hes like one of my favorite marvel characters. Destroying entire galaxies was nothing for him, he has manage to destroy the whole universe at one point and the group of the most powerful cosmic beings even failed to stop him. Phoenix clamors about destroying whole planets... PSH Thanos managea to destroy it all. And then reconstruct it while keeping his own being intact.
@roarmonster #32
Since tokido bodied all the EU couple weeks ago in a tournament. I can assume EU is pretty bad at mvc3 right?
So if Tokido makes top 8 again at CEO next month. it's safe to assume other than the few top players like J wong most of them are trash right?
@spotlessden
are you fckin retarted? He is the best Japan has to offer, so he is gonna be compared to the best the U.S. has to offer? How does your little brain not compute this? Its that simple, try not to think too much, you might short circuit.
Tokido and Mago seem pretty solid. I think the difference between them and U.S. is the ability to stay calm and execute combos accurately and consistently. Everyone knows combos. Everyone can do them in the training room. It's the matter of the probability to execute combos and react to unexpected hits to continue the combo during a tourney.
That is awesome.
