If you want to go further, you should scope out 0ShinAkuma0's playlist for T SRAI and YogaFlame24 has a great one as well.
I'm looking forward to 3SO the most as well, but let's be honest, 3S is not an easy game to pick up, and a lot of people (especially 09ers) are haters. They see 3S as the game that "killed" SF, and they see the characters as being "too weird". Nevermind that Blanka is as weird and ridiculous as anybody in 3S. While I would love to be wrong, I'm not expecting a renaissance when 3SO drops. It definitely has a high learning curve, and I just see a lot of newer players giving up before giving it a proper chance. I just want Capcom to do a good job with the port and for it to be arcade perfect. This is for the true 3S heads who kept the fighting game scene alive for 10 years, not the whiny people who never played the game in their life and already demand a rebalance.
@1 I don't even think you speak English anymore.
I've been following ShinAkuma and bendermac for awhile now, have always loved their T SRAI videos. Hope he still reps Blanka even after the AE nerf.
@4
I agree, I reckon allot of people will play for about a week and go straight back to SSF4 or AE. I am really looking forward to 3S and don't really care for balance changes or whatever, the game is amazing as is anyway and it'll be good to be able to play online with like minded and skilled players.
blanka is scrub....lol, players are scrubs, not characters - perhaps tokido is weak vs blanka?
@3 you couldn't be more right. Also, this guy is considered a strong player? O_o I'd wipe the floor with him. Im gunna post some of my fights on YT so you guys can see real raw skill give me a min.
@4: It's not that the characters are too weird, it's that they're uninspired and BORING. And yes, it DID almost kill Street Fighter.
@9: You don't want any balance changes? You think the game is amazing as it is? You think people online are going to be skilled? Good God...
@15 Good riddance, we don't need sourpusses like you on 3S anyway, you're just the kind of 09'er #4 talked about.
@15
Uninspired and boring? You're on crack my friend. No offense but 3S has some of the most original characters to grace the SF canon.
3S never came close to killing the Street Fighter franchise, the only reason people think that is because it fell off the radar from the "mainstream". New Generation was ok but with games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 being played at the same time, more depth was expected from the successor to the biggest name in early fighting game history, Street Fighter 2.
So Second Impact came along and things got much better, it was the least played of the three versions but by the time 3S came out, it had incredible depth thanks to the full fleshed roster and parry/red parry system, and etc. A "refined" product if you may.
3S however came out in 1999, at the peak of the 2D fighting game era, at the arcades at the time, there was a lot of fighting games being played... SFEX2a, KOF99, SFA3, Garou: MOTW, S.EDGE, MvC, Last Blade 2, Rival Schools, VS, Tekken Tag, Plasma Sword, DOA2, were all games played at most of the arcades I went to at the time, so if anything 3S was drowned in a sea of fighting games... An overload of fighting games, which was a good thing at the time heh.
The following years brought MVC2, GGX, CVS2 for the last big arcade run, and SF4 started a new era again after ~8 years of little activity.
And I think people online will be very good, play against some people in GGPO/Supercade and you'll see what to expect once 3S:O hits.
@18: Ooookay, let's take a look at some of them.
Remy: An emo with access to Guile and Charlie's special moves, with no explanation ever given.
Necro: Blanka and Dhalsim squished together.
Alex: An offbrand version of Hulk Hogan, with a bunch of other WWF fighters' signature moves.
Ibuki: A Valley Girl ninja. Nothing more to say about her.
Makoto: Stereotypical tough girl tomboy karate master, with an uninspired design.
If you like the game, fine. But don't try to say it didn't kill the franchise. ~10 years without a Street Fighter game after 3S kinda proves that.
@19 Now you're just using ad hominems. Why don't you go off and circlejerk with Mr_Clack, since apparently you two don't know how to argue?
@Cyberneitk
personally for me, the reason I'm not a huge fan of 3s is because, it took a big part of zoning away. You no longer had to "deal" with projectiles. I main Gen now, but my entire life i was a Guile user, even playin with him in super occasionally. and in 3s I used Remy. it took a lot of my previous knowledge away and I was uncomfortable with that. But I think its kinda hard to say the game was BAD..
Although i could see people using that word to bash the 3s players who call anyone who DIDNT play it "0'9ers". thats such a stupid term. Segregate the community? for what? some of the best players to come around didnt show their faces til (s)sf4. Like they have to put themselves on a pedastal to feel good, like forcing themselves to be "OGs".. we were here first mentality. ugh, anyway. I think 3s0 will be a great addition to the already fantastic choice of fighters we have at the moment, i just have to realearn it..
-_-
@TheShotokan
Cuff, you're good, but to say you'd wipe the floor with him is ludicrous! He certainly isn't flashy, but his footsies and links are topnotch in my opinion. Not to mention his ryu experience must be through the roof now! I think you'd do well, but I don't think you'd run him over!
Btw, I havent talked to you in awhile, whats up man?
@20 That word you use. I do not think it means what it think it means. I'd go back and look up ad hominem some time. When discussing the character design as being possibly uninspired, it's not an ad hominem attack to show examples of how the character designs may be uninspired.
@The actual videos. The guy doesn't have any mix-ups that are incredibly impressive, but his footsies and zoning are pretty top-notch. The spacing on his slide time and time again is just perfect.
Lol, why does this always turn into 3S vs. the world? xD
3rd Strike is an elegant game with a high learning curve. If SF4 is Ryu, 3rd Strike is Viper or Gen. You have to put in the work before you get results, only after you learn are things fun.
And a lot of people even complain about SF4 being too hard...xD
What happened at the end of round three in the last video is why people hate Blanka, lol.
Also, these videos don't show his skill in whole. He has the execution to combo into his super and ultra ball. I've yet to meet a Blanka that could do it when fighting me.
@19
Yeah there all random and awesome, 3s is sweet!
@4
I am a 09ner and i can't wait to learn 3s. Part of what makes street fighter so fun is that there is always something new to learn, and now i have to learn an entire new game
@speakertag
What type of course do you take to learn words like that. I love researching logical fallacies.
@19 Capcom kept making fighting games much after 3S, the fighting game genre itself went down itself as a major profitable genre, which had a lot to do with the advent in 3D graphics, but I digress.
@21 Relearning it is a fun process, 3S plays unlike others, it's a very offensive oriented game, you don't play ST like you play SFA3 like you play SFEX, all SF games are unique and its what makes it fun imo.
I'll leave you with a SFEX2 vid <_<
ugh fanboys heres the last word both games have good and bad just about every game is different 3s fanboys are morons for continuing the 09er crap honestly no way in hell this game would be coming to console without the resurgence that 4 brought you guys would still be in GGPO and not even trying to go to tourneys (some of you anyways) and let the scene wither and die without anything new. At the same time the 3s hater are just riding the bandwagon to seem superior when in fact they aren't improving when they should be.
I would be more happy if the remade Alpha 2 & 3 much better games IMO, plus it had Charlie, Rolento, Birdie & Karin all win again IMO.
T Srai is a good player haha. Often times people only say players are good if they pull off insane combos, but he does what works.
I mean, you can technically win a tournament with nothing more than basic 3 hit combos. It's being able to read opponents and react that make players great. Maximum damage combos are just a plus.
Guys check out my Blanka, I've been using him since Vanilla, so I know how he is meant to be played, plus I don't play a lame one. See this vid:

@32
hes not a strong character to begin with. Honda is better in everyway with the exception of speed and ex ball having projectile inv. Hes really unsafe, his combos are hard(link 3x low short is all 1 frame links) and alot of the higher tiers are bad match ups. Im just gonna hope they do him justice in sfxtekken, without ultras they can beef up his normals(no worrys about easy links to ultra) since its a more aggressive game(hopefully) they can make him more of a mix up character like hes supposed to be.
3S was unpopular because it lacked people's favorite characters. The new 3S characters were good, but there wasn't enough of a mix. There were only 4 old characters (Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Chunners), and 3 of those were shotos. Now that SSF4 AE has created a transition game which contains all of ST's characters, most of Alpha's characters and Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Yun and Yang, 3S isn't as much of a leap. About half of the characters in 3S will now be familiar.
@25: Absolutely agree. His one 'projectile' could be countered even if it HIT, so why make it even worse?
(Either the scrubs whined so much that CAPCOM sat up and took notice, or he might've posed a problem to their precious Yun.)
Slowly I get the feeling those "balance changes" were just to make sure, Yun and Yang still own the cast.
I mean Cammy TKCS gone?
"Yun has no Upppercut which can be FADC'd"
aaaah
Rufus "air suck" U2 is gone?
"Yun has spammy dive kick gets sucked into Rufus U2 too often"
aaaah
There are many such things I noticed.
who's blanka? really... who?
