LLL|Ryan Hart took off from the United Kingdom to Japan for a month of intense training, and he happens to be writing a blog documenting his experiences there. He talks about matches with top players, the characters he's playing and things of that nature.Opponent adaptation skills and my progress
I've noticed a difference in how things are here in Japan on Street Fighter. When you play here it's really different. In Europe most people play online where you have the opportunity to connect to another player and play any set number of matches which have been agreed together.
Here in Japan however, arcade is the main medium that players use. As all the machines are linked, when you win or lose your next opponent is picked randomly. This means you need better adaptation skills on the spot as you never know who you will play next. It can be frustrating if you lose a really close game because you worked out the opponent too late but then when you go to rematch the player and get given another opponent instead. It's certainly something to get used to.
My Yun is out the starting blocks but I still have a long way to go before I'm ready for top tier warfare, with that said I’m confident in my progress from here on. :)
There's also one more short entry here talking about a match with Shiro's Abel and how things are progressing with Yun.
@ 4 Pro players really don't mind an unbalanced game. Less MU's to have to study and work on.
It's a shame really I would have hoped for diversity but then again Ryan always went for top tier except for the salty suite were he used Guy to try and confuse Tokido.
*sigh* 3rd Strike is reaching out from the grave to kill everything Street Fighter-related anew for another 10 years.
CAPCOM sure knows how to make fighters these days!
@3 Indeed, I submitted it here earlier in the day but looks like it wont be posted for whatever reason.
Anyways here's the picture confirming Sagat in SF x Tekken

50/50 really then you haven't seen any AE footage then.
@13
normally characters with alot of good match ups happen to be better characters, so yeaaaaaaaa.
@10
they didnt change anything about the game mechanics in sf4 ae so it isnt more like sf3/sf2 or any other sf game. Its still sf4. Adding 2 characters with safe pressure moves doesnt change anything.
I think this is a great idea! Going overseas to get better at SF is awesome. U gotta learn from the best to be the best right?
People need to stop goddamn whining. If you don't like the game, don't play it. If you do like it, learn to adapt to the changes like everybody else. And for those that don't know, Ryan played a pretty good Yun in 3rd Strike, so it shouldn't be a surprise to anybody that he's returning to him in AE.

TROLLING ALL DAY LONG
@20 ya he always has always will be a crappy tier whore
its sad when people compare ryan to anyone good hes terrible makes me sad to watch him.
his only link to fame is his playstyle happens to beat daigo every now and then.
@25
Newsflash :
most pro player are tier whores by nature ... it's a frickin' hybrid of job/hobbies .
How about whiners like you try giving us a list of pro players actually successful , and winning actual tournaments with say ... Dan , T Hawk , dee jay or even Gouken ?
You know damn well that at best you'l find a handful or truly good players with those in online modes .
What are you lot talking about? Seriously, before you comment, do a bit of research before someone like me comes along and makes you feel stupid.
I won't address all the dumb remarks, but a couple should do the trick.
Ryan's played Ryu, Sagat, T.Hawk, and Guy pretty much consistently since Super SFIV came out. Not one of those characters is considered 'Top tier' in this game.
If you think beating Daigo here and there isn't a reason to be respected, I'd like to see you even take a round off of him in a Ryu mirror match.
Lastly, if you seriously think Ryans rise to fame came from him beating Daigo on several occasions, you're actually wrong. Ryan's won more tournaments than you'd ever imagine, including several titles at Evo.
I know I shouldn't bother responding to these comments, but Ryan's a good friend of mine, and he does the UK/London scene proud so he deserves it.
after watched few Japanese tournaments streams, i didn't really see that many Yun on tournament. I saw more Ken and Sagat.
Alot of top 4 teams don't even have a yun on the team.
*sigh* this is like SF4 all over again. we get whiners complaining about Ryu and Sagat and they got nerfed the f*** out. now we get Yun/Yang and Fei being the strongest and again those whiners are back crying nerf. idk about you guys but i love having 3 characters that are top and the rest at poop level, it gives my victory all the more credit it deserves. think about it guys not everyone will run into someone like Daigo or Ryan. Yun/Yang and Fei will not be a problem...and if they are... work against them like you did in Vanilla.
@31
you should drop Bison and pick up Yun ;)
QUOTE: As all the machines are linked, when you win or lose your next opponent is picked randomly.
This is only true for some specific arcades, like Safari and Battle Arena. Guess he only goes to Safari, well, no point to go to others with his skill :)
It's so nice to see people defend blatantly overpowered characters and the people who immediately switch to them.
From what I remembered...Ryan uses Sagat in Vanilla..Sagat got nerfed in Super...he switched to Ryu....Ryu nerfed in AE....he switched to Yun...
Whatever ppl...He is tier whore to me... but as a professional gamer...he must do what he must to win...so I don't blame him but you can't say he's not tier whore. Simple as that.
^Tier whore is a term scrubs use. Everytime they get beat they tell themselves "oh he only won because he's using the top tier!" No scrub, he won because he's better than you. If all the top players are using high tiers then the player with the most skill will win. Its the player winning not the character. And btw Ryan has shown that he can play every character in the game.
@43, if he really can play every character in the game, then why doesnt he main characters who arn't top tier but still effective, as many other pros do. he mains the top characters in each game e.g. sagat in vanilla, ryu in super & yun in arcade edition.
ryan hart = TIER F'N WHORE. nuff said.
^look at starnab and inthul. they've been playing fei since vanilla. since super, i've seen starnab win tourneys and inthul make major impacts (east coast throwdown last year is the best example wen he took out many pros using top tiers just by using fei and it included characters who were bad matches for him). fei got some buffs in super but still wasnt a top tier character in the game. he was around mid tier.
gamerbee is another example. adon is also a mid tier character and we've seen how much of an impact gamerbee has made with him.
hart, despite using top tiers as mains aint come close to them.
ryu is B class in super, he is not top tier. Fei in my opinion is A class in super, there is no way he is mid tier, even mago a tier whore, said he is top, which is why he switched to him. the list on this site is flawed on many match ups. IPW's tier list is much more accurate
even if dats the case, ryu is waaayyy more used than fei. fei requires a lot of skill to be used properly whereas ryu can be picked up easily and already has a lot of advantages so him being in "B" tier doesn't really matter much. fei is one of the best characters in arcade edition, but u still wont see him everywhere online due to the fact dat he's not a "noob friendly" character. ryu on the other hand is totally noob friendly which is why nerfing him is a great decision.
Good read :)
