At least MODOK can do stuff, unlike the Darkstalkers and Jill.
@catalyst Im offering things to fighting game fans...from a fighting game fan. How can that be off topic?
Good luck with your site.
#7 What people seem to not realize is that Hsien-Ko was not built for rushdown in this game. She is more of a defensive, keep-away type, and I think that's something that's turning a lot of players off to her. (or something along those lines)
That DHC glitch is just taking this game by storm, I agree.
@9: A character BUILT around defense/keep-away in MvC?! What a stupid idea!
Also, how is Morrigan a good character? All I've ever seen her do is build meter.
I guess it's kinda cool to see MODOK in action. But seeing him playing insanely defensive and abusing flight to keep opponents away... That kind of gameplay ins't cool, awesome or impressing. Rather, it's boring and cheap and just kinda makes you go like 'meh, you could turtle up with a lot of characters anyway'.
#10 Morrigan's air dashes, in particular her low air dash, are very good for rushdown and are fairly fast. Combining this with certain assist's, she can create good unblockables. She also has a very an all-right zoning game thanks to her 'clone' super.
(in other words she's like basically every rush-down character ever)
@10
Just because all you've seen her do is build meter doesn't mean she can't do more. She's an amazing rushdown character that goes unappreciated due to lack of spotlight and the afforementioned meter building use which is far easier to do than master a character -so quite a few people simply use her almost exclusively as an assist...and then spam shell kick or soul fist when they're forced to use her-.
On top of that she has a surprisingly good zoning game -not great or top of the line by any means, just good- when you factor in Astral Vision and the ability to flight cancel the recovery frames of her Soul Fists meaning you can fire many in rapid succession if performed correctly.
She has the tools to be devastating offensively especially when mixed with a low hitting assist due to her great aerial overheads which come out quick and can hit quite low to the ground. Finally her unique air dashes can easily throw the opponent off when mixed with a multi-hitting projectile assist or beam assist, this is especially true in flight mode where she can cancel her air dashes into each other creating further unique movement opportunities.
I've been using her on my team since day one and I can vouche for the fact that she has a lot of untapped potential as I'm STILL finding new ways to put her moves and movements to good use.
Sorry about the long winded post. In response to the video this has got to be the best MODOK I've ever seen, it's nice to see something new.
somebody has been watching marn.. and actually used the same assists.. just not in the order marn uses them..
or
he just actually likes those 3 xD
just saying.. i was seeing the same combo that marn does with zero
@15: I never said that's all she can do, but thank you for your insight (no sarcasm).
It's funny, though; for all their disturbing popularity, the Darkstalkers trio never seem to be very GOOD...
dark phoenix vs dark phoenix at the end. lol
Those players were pretty to me. I think couple of them can do very well in US tournaments.
Hiro's M.O.D.O.K is much better.
Barrier traps everywhere
He had a Good M.O.D.O.K...until Zero came in and just ate everyone alive.
Has anyone else noticed that it only takes one super gauge to do a ultra hyper super when theyre playin?is this because the Japanese version has different balance?
haha hey i've played both these guys online!
tokido i would say is better than both, cuz i just played him last night on xboxlive (i'm living in south korea teaching english right now)
the first guy's been using that modok/storm/tronne team for a while and his whole mission is to get u with an aerial team exchange for the DHC trick with storm. and modok with a good anti air assist is really hard to get in on. and storm can runaway and if u get hit by tronne, she'll do the whirlwind super. the other guy who uses zero is probably asia's best zero player. he's a master lord called spinking online I THINK. don't get mad at me if i'm wrong but that's his main team on xbox live, zero/dante/sent
he's clocked in about 350 hours last time i checked in the training mode too lolz surprised he plays dark phoenix. even tokido was using dark phoenix last night. they're really embracing this "Cheap" notion now haha dark phoenix does major comebacks haha
This MODOK was inspiration to my MODOK... I need to learn how to fly around the screen better, I'm so slow at it...
@17
I, for one, am proud to effectively use Morrigan with Shadow Blade Assist. Whenever you fight a good Morrigan, you'll s*** a brick, trust me, that's our mission.
Also, the few who can use Felicia and Hsien-Ko effectively as well, you have to give them credit where credit is due, they are by far THE most under appreciated characters in the game, but Felicia had more screentime out of the 3 so far, her rushdown game is amazing.
Think of it like a trifecta:
Felicia is the relentless rushdown, mix-up master.
Hsien-Ko is a tank with many tools to defend, but can be devastating sometimes with her surprises.
In the end, Morrigan is a real balanced character with many zoning tactics and rushdown with tri-jumps.
I find funny that the new is about MODOK when in that video the real impressive player is the one using Zero. That guy is play Zero very good and different than Marn. I really liked how precise he is with this combos and setups and he can rushdown even at full screen xD... pretty sick player in my opinion.
See, this is why we need more creative characters like M.O.D.O.K, if people hate, just imagine their faces when you beat the crap out of them with MODOK. I love using MODOK.
BOOOM HEADSHOT
