Burn Kicks and Burn Kick Feints akin to Street Fighter inherit the momentum Viper has when she starts the Burn Kick Feint, because of this you can have very fast close to the ground motion off of super jump forward instant burn kick feint, a.k.a. The Viper Ball.
The Viper ball is very simple 2, 1, 4, 9 motion ~ Light, Medium, Hard, Special ~ Special. With this Viper essentially gets a King of Fighters hop/super hop with a ridiculously useful horizontal arc, with this from an incredibly far distance away you can hit double to triple overheads very quickly and more importantly if you time it right it comes out faster than her trijump by a very significant margin. It's very close in speed to her 2, 8 motion, ADF, Light except horizontal instead of vertical. Thanks to its arc hitting Hard Special in the air is incredibly easy to combo leading into incredible damage with a low scaling high damage starter.
Big ups to Chrisis and Thaguy for documenting and sharing this with the community.
Viper players are rare so it's nice to see her getting some love. I think there are a couple more Viper players on the east coast with Empire but I can't think of their names. I think Santhrax as one of them maybe.
When people start to figure her out more I think she will be like she was in SF4. Not highly popular but a strong niche of players who use her a lot. She has the potential to be one of the best characters because her combos are so damaging but she might be the most technical character in the game too... that's a big trade off.
Some arcade sticks are getting destroyed on the background, gotta love the sound of those buttons. Good video.
@6/Suppi
you have no choice but to burn a meter for her EX if you want to do extended combos.. she has the tools to continue her own combo.. it takes getting used to..
but it's worth it in the end..
wow you must have to jerk off alot to play her thats alot of button pressin lmao thx for the tip keep it comein
There is so much to this game. New things being found constantly. But its sad no one will leave their wesker, wolverine etc teams.
This looks really good. Viper getting better and better.
@10 Sent is only easy at the beginner level. To play vs top players you need amazing defense and spacing/air control. A lot of characters can instant overhead sent from very far. If you're still losing to Sentinels mashing armored moves you need to reevaluate your game.
@12: Advanced players are the only ones who use the world's worst ginger.
Re: Viper
I (and a small handful of other people I know) have been using Viper since launch, but just like SF4 the slightest amount of lag ruins her gameplay, so we stick to playing offline for the most part. I do consider her an advanced character but she's still solid even at a low skill level, you just gotta take some time to learn how she works.
As for the viper ball, I've been doing this accidentally just wanting to tiger knee burn kick sometimes. I'd put more time into perfecting this but my interest in MvC has been dropping lately...
Wesker Wolverine and Sentinel, in my opinion, ARE too powerful for the amount of effort they sometimes take. Honestly though they are beatable, kinda cheap, and really good, but beatable.
Honestly, I don't really feel like Im crippled at all when playing them, even if Im using my Joe/Ammy/Tronne team. They are beatable, nobody is yet to be broken besides D. phoenix. It just might be more frustrating because it doesn't always require as much skill, thought or execution as people would like good characters to require.
Wolverine is not number 1. Just sayin
Personally, although Wesker and Wolvie will stay up there, I think that outside of Ammy, Dante, Wesker, Wolvie Phoenix, characters like Zero, C. Viper, Trish, Iron man and super skrull will become more viable. She-Hulk and Tasky are already considered pretty solid by many, probably will be upper mid tier, Spencer is considered one of the best anchors, and I think Super Skrull will join him. Tronne, Akuma and Sentinel are all amazing assists. Hell Im not sure if they're idiots or if they just saw Rahsaan but some people are swearing that Spider man is a beast.
you really just can't complain about the balance at this point
Joe is also better then most people think, but everyone is better then most people think, he will probably land mid-middle tier :(
This is great stuff, but it requires some crazy execution. I like Viper, she's actually on my team (Viper, Hulk, Sentinel), but that's much more based on personal feelings, than actual skills. I wouldn't be able to pull something like this consistenly. XD
Then again, if I were to get more C. Viper skills, I'ld rather get the hang of her infinite. =p
Anyways, since I'm here, I wanna show you guys my new video. Please, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4m7af...
I've only seen 1 Viper player online since I bought mvc3. Most people want the easy win online so they can trash talk to down the mic or send you hate mail, hence why most of them play Wesker, Wolverine and Sentinel. It's a shame because I think there is a lot of undiscovered potential in all the characters.
Does anybody but Marlin Pie play Viper srsly?
