Live on 3 will kicked off again today. Guests were EG|Justin Wong, MarkMan of SDTekken.com and EMP|Tom Brady, who made a strong impact at Power Up 2011, winning the Mortal Kombat 9 tournament.Episode #70 airs today as first show back, with Mortal Kombat 9's recent release as the main topic of discussion. Power Up 2011 occurred this past weekend with major tournaments and an EVO qualifier for Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Tekken 6, and Mortal Kombat 9. To much of everyone's surprise, Mortal Kombat 9 had the most concurrent viewers of any game on stream, and had as much or more hype than Marvel and Street Fighter. We will discuss if MK9 can be a stable high-end competitive fighting game with the likes of Street Fighter, Marvel and Tekken, how the game feels from a longtime Capcom player, and if the popularity will continue after the PDP and EVO tournaments.

MALDA, I don't know why, but I totally heard Brad Jones reading that in my mind.
(Wait, what happened to Wong? On purpose?
And people are really surprised a new, decent game got the most views? New things tend to attract viewers.)
Did Justin Wong complain about this video, so they changed the brackets for him as well?
@10: Shut up, it's an MvC3 tournament and logic doesn't apply to anything in that series.
#11
I'm not an mvc3 player but your comment does make you look rather silly :S #embarrassing
Lets be 100% honest the only reason why EVO penalized Justin with the yellow card for "intentional losing" is because if they had booked him on changing brackets in SF4 and MvC3 he 100% would have gotten a red card.
Instead they said that its the TO fault for switching the brackets not Justin's fault. My ass Justin knew exactly what he was doing and he did it in Marvel 3 AND SF4.
Man, why are the EVO guys acting like the illuminati? If JWong wants to throw the tourney, that's his choice. They shouldn't penalize him and force him to act a certain way. Seems pretty shady to me.
@16
They've laid out specific rules that they expect everyone to follow, regardless of who they are. When money and points and whatever else is on the line, it's NOT okay to throw matches. There's nothing shady here on the EVO guys' end.
@17
I'm no expert on how the whole points-system works, but I believe its seed based or something like that. So he could be placed lower I think. But that probably won't affect Justin since he likely has way more points than anyone else anyway.
The bigger penalty is the yellow card, since two yellow cards (or one red card) means he'd be disqualified from EVO, which would be a huge.
It look like Wong was taking it easy at the finals he can dominate with ease everybody in tourneys and win.
If he wins people complain,if he loses and other people win people complain.
BUT to just throw matches away its uncalled for and unprofessional,if that's the case just don't enter tournaments and play exhibition,team or money matches.
Jwong cheated and got busted for it, end of story, stop trying to defend him it's not the first time he's done bullsht like this, ABOUT TIME they got him
@21 Cheated by by picking a random team? I guess he must of benefited so much by throwing the match, think of all the money he made. *rolleyes*
Not the first time he's done bullsht like this? WTF. So I take it you personally go to tournies, met Jwong and know whats really up and not some guy assuming things in his mom's basement.
Oh if you people are going to assume bracket fixing then you should ask someone actually part of it and not just assume stuff. If there was something wrong, its the organizer's responsibility to regulate such stuff and not let things like this happen.
Look at the team aside from everyone knowing Phoenix on point is dumb there was no synergy skrull & dor are meter burners the whole point of phoenix is for meter simple as that. Still it was a bitch move about Noel brown which makes what smooth said looking more true.
Deal is this is an Evo event so they have to act as such if not the practice continues it's an unpopular decision but good in the long run.
Lame as hell, I wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt, but that show of integrity was ass :U
It's a collusion rule! It states that collaborating players may be disqualified for colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming. Tony Cannon stated that they "do not have any clear evidence of collaboration between players" so they cannot penalize Noel Brown. Collusion requires two or more persons and EVO is trying to stretch their rule.
#15 is 100% correct. If he wasn't Justin Wong, he would have been banned for bracket manipulation. He knew full well what he was doing. Blaming the tournament organizer and citing Wong for sandbagging was a total slap on the wrist. He shouldn't be whining because he got off easy.
#22 Your Jwong fanboyism is showing. I'm not going to argue with a simple minded fool like you.
#16 If justin threw the match on his own terms, then yeah it's on him if he wants to goof around and just experiment with characters just because he has enough points. However, in this particular case, Justin was performing well below average and wasn't even trying to win, top this off with the bracket change issue and it raises the integrety of Justin's honesty. The rules are clear about collusion with another player to manipulate the results, however since they can't prove Noel was a part of it they simply just yellow carded Justin to make an example that if your thinking about doing this stuff to get by, DON'T.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell, Justin did this to himself, no one else and he knows it, thats why he has no grudge againts them.
I can smell the BS already. Get ready for the lies and damage control.
