A blurb on the PaulGaleNetwork talks briefly about Capcom's plans for Street Fighter's 25th anniversary, which is coming up in 2012, it reads:
Finally, I had to mention that Street Fighter turns 25 in 2012, and ask if we could expect Street Fighter 5 or was Street Fighter X Tekken going to be all? After all, for the series’ 15th birthday we got the Anniversary Collection and then we got Street Fighter IV for the 20th anniversary. Although I didn’t get anything solid, at least I was told that “Street Fighter is as important as Mega Man and they’re both turning 25″…so my guess is that something is up!
Although the site mentions Street Fighter 5, that does seem very unlikely at this point, as Ono's team is currently hard at work with Street Fighter X Tekken and Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition.
Also, with the DLC release of SSF4 Arcade Edition content being all but confirmed at this point, the Street Fighter development team probably has their hands very full at the moment.
Still, it's Street Fighter's 25th anniversary, and it sounds like Capcom will do something to commemorate the event.
It is way too soon for Street Fighter 5. I'd like to see more content added to the games they've already released than a sequel for the sake of a sequel.
PC users are still waiting on Super, AE hasn't even been released on consoles yet, and as mentioned in the article, there are just too many other side projects being developed to tide us over.
Ah well, let them do what they want with it. I just think SF4 in its current state has a lot of room to grow.
I would like to see something announced for their 25th anniversary. Hell it doesn't even have to be a new game, maybe a wicked stick in partner with Madcatz or something. There are so many pros and cons with having few or a lot of fight titles. One of the ones I'm not looking forward is liking one of them and having everyone jump to another game and forget about that one. MvC3 stole Supers thunder but just left enough where it's still not impossible to find endless battles with decent players. I guess we will see what happens with this double edged sword.
Too soon, i mean the Street Fighter Franchise came back like, 2009 with an animated movie and america made that cr@p movie, then wanted to do super it up last year. Now 3Ds this year....Also Arcade Edition AND Street Fighter X Tekken. Yeah seriously take some time making it a better fighting game or something. Street Fighter 5!? C'mon why not take another few years to develop....maybe in 3 or 5 years or something to make it an even better Street Fighter than the 4th one.
Evil Sakura and Crack Pipe Ken DLC, for every current-gen fighting game
SF5? yeah a little too soon IMO. Knowing Capcom tho, it's gonna be big. Capcom brought back SF; with SF4, SSF4, SSF4:AE(hopefully for console soon)! Big titles too such as MVC3 and the upcoming SF X Tekken! Whatever the 25th anniversary surprise it is, It's gonna be sickk!

they should all give us SSF$ AE DLC for free as a nice birthday present lmao
I think there are 10 alpha characters and 11 sf3 characters missing from SSF4 at this point. Add them all for a grand total of 60 fighters, all wonderfully balanced of course, add some stages, and charge $100 for this ultimate edition. Now that would be an aniversery.
PS - special dlc fighters: Tired Hunchback Ryu and World Renowned Chef Akuma.
Waaaaaay too soon for SF5. Capcom needs to maximize profits from AE, MvC3, SFxTekken, and 3rd Strike: Online Edition before SF5 even comes to fruition.
Though doing something would be nice, I'd like 2 - 4 extra characters in AE, with maybe three new stages. I know it's work, but hey, we're paying for DLC, right? xD
I think Capcom may release a new Street
Fighter movie.
Street Fighter 5? Yea too soon
