@shogun i think the reason is because he requires quick hands to do his zipline combos, ever try doing his missions ? its tough compared to other characters who have relaxed inputs per say
@brooklynfiazko
QFT. I watch the videos posted by Vesper or people like this dude and think 'Nice, this is my new character!'. Spend half an hour trying to replicate one combo and give up.
I definitely enjoy watching this game more than I enjoy playing it.
Incidentally, where is Event Mode? Isn't it supposed to be released today?
damn did it again, confused the meaning of QFT , if a mod sees this remove my previous post and this one , much appreciated :D
lol i already apologized and tried to send him a message, yeah im used to coming from forums where QFT meant Quit *ucking Talking, so that following his comment i TOTALLY MISINTERPRETED WHAT HE SAID , glad someone ( darkneji ) understands the mistake i made lol
spider man has the best sayings in the game.
"Remember that one time during the fight when it looked like you might actually win? no? me neither."
i literally lol'd when i read that. oh, and his "You must have a black belt in stupid if you think you're gonna beat me" is awesome too.
@brooklynfiazko
I didn't see the offending reply, so no harm done. I had no idea that 'QFT' could mean something else. My first time using that kind of jargon and I blow it! I think I'll just stick with the Queen's English from now on.
Pip pip fellows
Funny.
A couple nights ago I did decided to do all of Spidermans missions because I like doing some soul-searchin to get the feel for all the characters I don't know. I found out the dude was a speed-demon and requires faster than average hands. And these missions were only the tip of the iceberg.
I kinda liked it because compared to other characters' missions there was less timing and more "input everything ASAP" combos.
However last night I decided to take on another new character: Haggar. and after doing Spidey, Haggar felt like a brick!
There are really two reasons a character doesn't get picked in a fighting game from what I see:
1) His status is under the rader, more so than other iconic characters.
2) He or She is far more technical and requires better skill/execution to be successful with said character.
Spider-Man isn't exactly non-iconic, so I'm betting it's challenging to pull those combos off with him.
Spider-Man is one of those combo characters who I like to call "loose" because when you press a button his attacks come out fast and recover fast. YOu don't get that little bit of freeze on hitstun that gives you a mental check that your hit confirmed.
Take Taskmaster for example. Not as fast as Spiderman but his hit confirms are more user friendly. Even with his Swing combos are even easier than spiderman and in a way it's similar to spiderman except with sword attacks and kicks.
No body really likes technical fighters because they take the most time and the reward for mediocer skill is not enough to compete with good players who can defend his spam attacks easily. You MUST be on point with these characters to win. We might start seeing them in the near future when people been in the lab long enough.
^ haha I've only seen about 2 spidermans that I can remember.
And yeah I think most people don't play spiderman because he's very execution heavy. Most would rather play Dante or Sentinel for their easy combos.
^ I've seem a bunch but they are all mashers who take advantage of turbo feature on controllers and sticks in hopes to squeeze a lucky victory. Annoying because him and Ammy are the most successful with that.
I ran into one really, really good Spider Man who opted to wave dash to get close instead of just Web Zipping and Web Dashing all over the place.
Sick stuff!
