@1 can i punch your face dude? that was awesome fights!
@3
He's got a point. Games with such a defensive Balrog are boring as hell. Sad to see turtling winning, but I guess it was only a matter of time before some would turtle their way to the top with Balrog.
Wolfkrone vs Tokido was awesome though.
That was fantastic to watch, very well done PR Balrog!
arturo always says that and this tourney was on march 12th
PR Balrog is simply amazing, best Boxer player to date. Tokido is simply amazing when his Akuma goes berserk :). Next week Oni/E.Ryu going official...tourney legal or not we'll have to see.
The Tokido vs. PR match match resembles a high level Xbox Live match where both players are afraid to take even the slightest risk for fear of eating a random lag-induced ultra. PR even mashes his 3-frame crouching jab to stuff Tokido's tick throws and block strings. This is proof that online tactics can work offline if applied correctly. I was going to make a 'Down-back Fighter 4' joke, but I honestly enjoy slow-paced, methodical, defensive matches like this.
@6 You're obviously somebody who plays online and has no sense of how to play street fighter. There's no SET style of play in this game, playing defensive is also an option and it's not boring at all.
PR Rog had a gameplan from the start and executed it well. Both players were adapting ridiculously quick and it was intense. This is the first time a Balrog wins and that's your comment? Just don't comment again and save myself and everyone who understands street fighter mechanics time.
I hate fanboys lol, making excuses for any top Japanese player losing instead of actually watching the video and seeing WHY they lost. *sigh* oh well.
Great grand finals and congrats to both players for such an intense fight.
WOW! Awesome grand finals match. Both of these guys have supreme execution... but talk about winning the mental game. PR Rog kept his composure and held it down. Tokido got noticeably frustrated and reckless in the last few rounds. Thats some good stuff right there.
Rog played to perfection. congrats to PR rog, about time we get that big pay!
i forgot how slow this game is. i rather play broken mvc then sit through this.
am srry i cant sit next to the person whos fightin me he may be lookin at what u press besides ima end up punchin the sh** out of him i just can't i need space lol but i give it to them good fight
so many sweeps from balrog, jab sweep is ridiculous on any character. still sick play, i had never seen jump back ultra that is still kind of blowing my mind atm the timing on that must have been perfection.
@17
You've definitely got it wrong. I never said there's a set style of playing, and defensive/turtling game is totally legit. I just don't enjoy that kind of play because it seems in that kind of matches, one side is trying to create openings and create a match, the defensive side is just waiting for an opening and not trying do make one it himself. In that sense, the matches quickly got boring because you had Tokido trying to be offensive, but then realised it didn't go well because he would get major punishes, and the pace slowed a lot. It's a matter of taste, but I definitely enjoy offensive games more, with 2 sides trying to be offensive - like Wolfkrone vs Tokido.
Japanese fanboys? Seriously, making assumptions like that makes you look stupid. I'm a fan of offensive play, regardless of where they are from.
It's pretty obvious that Tokido was cracking bad in the finals. He was missing some of this BnB set ups that we've all been privy to in most of his other match vids. PR Rog was by far the better player this time. It's a little ironic seeing the American player look so calm and collected while the Japanese player looks frazzled.
Yawn....
