This was part of a television program that was aired, which covers an official Capcom Street Fighter Alpha 3 tournament in Japan that attracted more than 10,000 players. Daigo ended up coming to San Francisco, California, to compete. Footage from the earlier part of the event is also available, which you can see by clicking the link below, although it's all in Japanese.
Rumor has it Daigo switched from Akuma to Ryu after being impressed with Valle's Ryu.
BTW There's more matches from this event of Daigo using Gen and some other characters including this infamous match with Jason Cole:
damn how old was Valle there? dude looks like he just got out of class lol
guys. what is said is that daigo's hometown is Tohogu, which is basically a farmland where a lot of older people live. unfortunately, it is very close to where the nuclear accidents happen. so daigo can not return to his hometown to visit probably for a long time.... see the vids below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ToPwm...
it is a video done back in seasons beasting where daigo discussed about tohogu dialect...
i think we should all support the beast in this hard time in japan....
I thought Alex was winning the whole time, considering they had their names swapped on the prompter :)
Valle had me laughing. He was trying too hard lol. He was really good though.
I remember reading that Valle was salty because he fought they still had another set but they misinformed him. Can anyone verify this, A3 my favorite game out of the sf series how I miss you.
@9 Is that the same location that they just reported they found radiation on the farmland?
Valle doesn't wear wife beaters anymore because I don't know if you noticed but he's gained some weight since then.
Yo valle looked like he belonged on NYU.
lol
I'm sill biased though. I to this day think that Valle is the better player.
You can't tell me nothin.
Dude look like the only dork from XS new York lmao. Still this brings back memories of being in 9th grade for me. I waited for weeks for it to come out and remember it got pushed back twice on the ps1. Best street fighter hands down! Alpha 3>3rd strike. Capcom release this online instead!
daaayum valle looks young thats nuts lol this must have been a LONG ass time ago
cvs....idoit sfa3 tourney- dont say anything. FOOL. did i mention your a moron as well.
Fun fact: Valle was screwed over in favor of Daigo in the Japan vs. US SFA3 tourney, there was supposed to be one more match after that, but the officials announced Daigo the winner. Valle was salty, but took it like a champ. And yes, Valle is 76 years old, and fat.
Also, SFA3 sucks fockin' balls. I hope that game stays forgotten. But SFA2 now...
This was so fun back in the day. I remember how wack I was with Karin and Rolento like yesterday. Taking a lot of concepts from SF4 and applying it to these old fighters really opened my eyes to how fighters are truly played. I went being jack**** to actually keeping up with everybody who grew up with SF in general. I paid my dues for being a scrub. I learned Kaioken and then reached that Super Saiyan level with Guy in SSF4.
I wanna hear some stories you guys have with this game!
The only thing that didn't change about Valle these past 10+ years is the size of his nose.

wrong fact. You just made up stuffs. Go watch this vid.
before they play, the guy said "2/3 games, 3/5 rounds".
@42
fanboy much? Valle himself said the official tournament rules would be American set:Daigo vs Valle (which happened) then Japanese set: 1st match winner (tourny runners skipped it). thats why Valle was salty. dont believe everything you see on one video.
on a side note i remember this few years ago. i always remembered this vid because it had that stupid McDonalds Ad in the end for some reason lol. i also miss A3. it was a good game but the whole A-ism V-ism (Genie-Jin much) X-ism thing really made it a different type. its like you have a possibility of creating your own character. kinda like CvS2. were waiting for you A3 online

@42
heres the link read the description.
@45 sounds like you're a Valle fanboy. In the video that spotless posted the dude announcing clearly says 2/3 games right before the match starts. So if Valle is saying something different then he probably misheard it. If they were running another set wouldn't the guy have announced it.
Valle looks funny, but Daigo looks waaaay more goofy. I laughed out very loudly when watching video 6 and I'm at work Haha!
Its funny how NOW Alpha 3 is everyone favorite Street Fighter.
@46
sounds like you dont have a brain. obviously if they didnt want to run the full tournament, they wouldnt announce it publicly then say they didnt. unless ignorant people like you were watching but i doubt that. and its not like i said Valle shouldve won because they didnt play the second part of the tournament. if i said that maybe you could call me a fanboy, but i guess when someone doesnt have anything logical to say he just shouts out "FANBOY"
You know this is old cause Valle is rocking the wifebeater. Still a great match and even though I know the result... I still root for Valle to win it. Daigo's adjustments on the fly are something else.
