Updated: A few minor details on what this patch will contain have been added into this story.(It should fix Frank West. And Dan.
Don't look at me like that.)
i hope it fixes connection issues, i still find it hard to find a match in ranked even with all the options set to "any".
i wish the online functionality of this game was as good as SF, why cant i browse a list of funking lobby's for ranked matches like you can in SF?! its amazing how a game made by the same company as SF can leave sooo much out of the online component of the game!
I HATE how I can't screen my opponent before I fight em.
I'm SFIV, crappy connection? you get the boot!
It better fix glitches, and online.
Also, don't hold your breath for spectator.
It's been said that it would make the game too laggy.
They tried to do it, and assumed it could be done, but
we wrong.
They better add Spectator Mode. That would make things easier.
i really wish they add the ability to listen to your own music like mvc2
Are they gonna patch $20.00 back to me,as the game is broken/unfinished.
Nahh, Sentinel needs no Nerfing, that would be a stupid idea, it's already balanced. It's a giant robot for crying out loud it suppose to be powerful and there are enough characters to beat Sentinel. Try these guys, Captain America, Trish, Dante, Dormammu, Hulk, Iron Man, Shuma Gorath, Jill, Phoenix,Spencer, and Chris. Yes if you play your cards right these characters could have an advantage over Sentinel, so stop trying to get him nerfed...that's taking away the challenge.
By the way, I think that's a completely different mode, it says Challenge Mode and that what it says until proven.
How are people still complaining about Sentinel still? There are many ways to beat him and a lot of the cast can do it very easily. Especially with overhead mixups. So if you want Sentinel nerfed chances are he's still crushing your team. What does that mean? Learn the matchup and you'll see that he's really not that bad. Granted he's a good character but a lot of the cast have the tools to stop him.
Man, please stop asking for spectator mode. If you enjoy watching chumps jump around with Ryu, Deadpool, Dante teams so much there's this site called Youtube I have a feeling you'll be really excited about.
Instead of spectator mode, shouldn't the priority be on improving the — you know, actually playing matches part? Like, making finding a game not busted as hell and adding visible ping number/bars so I can choose to play people with whom I actually have a decent connection, etc.
All you cats (being basically everybody) who constantly make 8 man lobbies in SF4 pretty much make Endless mode unplayable. I don't want to wait 15 minutes in between every terrible mash reversal Ryu match and I certainly don't want to sit around and watch all the rest of you do that crap while I'm waiting for my turn.
I mean I assume when you turn on your videogame console it's because you'd actually like to be pressing buttons, right?
@23
That's a hell of a lot of inaccurate generalization you made in just one post. Most people want spectator mode because they have friends they play with, and don't want to stare at nothing between matches. I'm guessing you don't have friends that play this game, because I don't know how you would not come to that realization other wise. Way to miss the point, huh?
@analogos
It's pretty obvious you have no friends.
If you did, you'd understand why people want spectator mode.
I think Sentinel does good damage for a character with the highest vitality and Hyper Armor but #26 got a good point.
I really only play SF with friends largely because of how obnoxious the online experience is.
Here's the thing about that, though: unless your friends are in relatively close proximity to you, it's not like you're going to be getting a particularly favorable connection with them playing online anyway. If in fact you have several friends who are all close enough in vicinity to each other to successfully foster a worthwhile lobby environment then—hey, guess what, maybe you guys should actually just be meeting up and playing in person. maybe you should actually be trying to foster a local scene instead of sitting around compensating for lag.
I mean yeah I understand you can't do this every day and yes when there's no other recourse I play in endless with my friends, but if you guys are telling me you all have 7 other people who live in your city and care about fighting games then put your headsets down, pick up a beer or whatever and go play some lagless matches.
endless is for setting up quick, easy matches not for running a damn mini tournament.
Also am I really supposed to be entertaining the notion that all seven of these friends (all of whom apparently share green-bar connections with each other) are never busy and all conveniently happen to be willing and able to play the game at the same time on a regular basis, and is apparently true of the hundreds of endless lobbies peppering SF4 every day? Because all lobbies are about playing with "friends"?
Besides, I might argue that even when playing with friends, standing around watching other people play isn't necessarily all that fun. And if it's going to be, it's definitely going to be a lot more fun in person where there'll conceivably be something to do other than sit in your chair.
@ Analogos
Dont bother trying to explain your case to people who rather watch a boring match *with "friends"* than actually play with "friends" it's very confusing. I hope they just fix the game alittle bit the game seems a bit broken and there are alot of things that need to be fixed on the gameplay.
"DL Challenge Mode" unless cleared or retired, you can not play in other modes. Please note."
Hmm....so this "Challenge Mode" is a mode all of it's own, like Arcade, but you cannot be interrupted by an Online Request?
I'm liking this, I hope they do something nice with this "Challenge Mode"
@ MALDA
I know right? They were dying to get their hands on it now you want to watch someone? BOR-ING!
I don't mind being without spectator mode. I like it because I don't have to see the same mashing unkies I'm out there competing against lol.
Moreover, I like the lack of spectator with friends because it feels like an interactive chat. no one's hooting and hollering over the mic, which I particularly hate to hear in my ear.
UGH for the person defending the dont nerf sentinel ughh not everyone wants to play with a character they dont like just to win (im sure 95 % of the fighting game community doesnt mind)
needs spectator mode - period
-who cares if its laggy there game is already bad when it comes to connection lol
online change - period
i dont want to hit rank match and you pick my opponent i want to know who im fighting see there connection and everything
and there point system is horriable there player points dont mean anything in the game there just there for show lol just copy ssf4 where the points and your rank mean a little something
I can understand arguments from both sides. I'd like Spectator Mode for this reason: if you're joining a lobby, you can see what kind of strategies/skill levels your opponents will use before joining in the fray. I'm not that great of a player and while I'd like to get better, by playing better players, I'd rather not waste their and my time by getting bodied every single play. I only like to lose if I'm going to learn something and the experience would be wasted at my current skill level.
Sentinel doesn't need a nerf. He's meant to do harm to all the overzealous rush down players that do easily punishable things. tons of characters can beat the guy. PLay smarter people.
Stop hating on the brobot.
Challenge Mode might be tied with the Event based titles. So far nobody has them. Could more Shadow AI's though and probably adds the data for the second set of costumes. Hopefully the patch corrects the glitches and the damn online. It's like playing with the peanut (Online MvC3) inside the turd pile (MvC3 itself).
I just want an X-Factor nerf. The characters are fine as is Sentinel ain't that hard, people just suck.
yes I agree with Justin Wong that Xfactor needs to be reevaluated in one way or another.
Can people stop asking for a spectator mode? The issue has already been addressed.

@#50
you don't "have" to play as a specific character to beat sentinel, it just helps if there are holes in your game. and anyway, every game is going to have counter picks.
@#53
"high level play" and "pro players" doesn't mean much when a game's been out for a month. lots of people are already coming to the conclusion that sentinel is not that big of a deal or at the very least won't be for too much longer.
also: pro players can be wrong too.
First 2 things that need to be fixed:
1. Glitches, especially the game-ending Zero Glitch. We understand that Capcom didn't see this coming especially for a rushed date, but it doesn't look professional when people can break games that easily. As for the Zero Glitch, tournaments do not need to see this, even if done by accident. We don't need redos nor cry nor a decisive DQ. None of us want to wait a full 99 seconds knowing that no characters are present. And we sure as hell don't want to write a list of rulings of "not allowed" because of something game-breaking.
2. X-Factor properties. Complain about Sent later; EVERY CHARACTER is classified as broken with X-Factor and OCV's are starting to get common because of it.
Spectator mode can come later.
Sentinels reach is the thing that kills me, he'll hit me long before I can get to him. His armour and the fact that the missiles from his super can hit you even if you jump over him; also prove problematic.
I still think it's funny that people are still complaining bout sent when almost every tourney winning team doesnt even have one in the mix. I think it's been proven sent is not the end-all be-all character and the game has only been out a short time. It's just going to be proven even more strongly in the future.
I agree Xfactor needs to be re-evaluated. If anything leave it as is but shorten the time limits on them, specially lvl 3. That would give losing people a chance to come back but not be able to rape 3 full health characters in less than 10 seconds. If anything it should all be the same time limit for all 3, just the health gain and damage boost a little higher in the lvl 2-3 versions.
Just my opinions.
Hopefully they will also address these points: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97mSS_...
It'll be funny if, sometime down the road, they nerf Sentinel, because now everyone thinks he sucks :)
@shadow050
Are you sure you are doing the glitch right?
Personally I think level 3 X-factor is Broken for every character not just Sentinel. You;ve seen Spencer come back as well as Dormammu with his chip damage. Many times I've used Trish as anchor for keep away tactics and have won most of my games just using X-factor alone while the other guys have 2-3 characters still. That's a bit ridiculous IMO. It seems too powerful.
I understand the idea behind it but with all the DHC available and most characters can do tons of damage incorporating DHCs that x-factor should be toned down tremendously.
The only thing I want is a visible connectivity meter when Im in a lobby. I don't like playing then finding out this guy is lagtastic then not be to kick him cause theres no kick button either...
Hopefully the Zero glitch will get patched.
