Knew this ever since the videos of them playable on a hacked PS3 surfaced weeks before there official release, this kinda stuff is disgraceful. Its almost like they make the full game and go "right, that's the game finished, now lets see how much stuff we can take back out to sell as DLC".
Costumes I can handle, they could have kept Spiderman's Venom costume or Captain America's Punisher costume and sold those to us separate no problem, but playable characters ?, f**k you Capcom!.
So far I'm impressed with shuma and VERY disappointed by Jill.

DAMN! All of Shuma's colors are awesome! I especially like the white/silver color!
I agree with #3 and I'm not a fan of Shuma Gorath. 1 of the 2 reasons I bought the SE was Jill, thinking it would be her MVC2 ver. (before any footage of her). There was nothing wrong with her then, I understand going with RE5 theme here but c'mon! there are more Jill fans asking for her normal ver. than the new one.
I freaking love Shuma. So much fun. I'm just soaking in all his glorious voice clips and easy ways to set up Hyper Mystic Ray.
Jill I'm having a hard time getting the hang of, but her combos are absolutely tits. Going for both of their endings right now.
That was my biggest problem with Jill. For her to receive a complete revamp, they are not necessarily appealing to veterans of the last game. We had enough RE(5) fan service as it is. They should have put that work on a new person entirely. I'm not too knowledgeable on the recent RE's but Ada could have fit... well minus the powers.

What happened to "the characters needed more polish"? Does the 100KB contain code to change them a bit? Either way, I'll be having this. 36 characters included a sstandard is a lot, so it's not like they stiffed us by holding back a lot of characters. More $$ for Capcom = more fighting games for us, which is fine with me!
I don't see how anyone can find Capcom's practices regarding DLC surprising, considering they've done this before in other games like RE5.
RE5 Vs. Mode DLC = 300 kilobytes
MvC3 Jill/Shuma = 100 kilobytes (each)
I really can't see how this ISN'T just simply unlock keys for stuff that is already in the disc. This is really disappointing, as this means they were basically keeping playable characters locked from the fans just so they could charge basically $70 for access to the complete roster to an (essentially) incomplete game.
I just hope there isn't more characters that are hidden in the disc that we'll have to pay for later on (which I wouldn't be surprised though since there are now gaps in the bottom left/right of the character select screen).
Not really feeling it. I'll just make sure I can fight against them to the best of my ability.

You guys do realize this only a 100kb key because the data to finish them was in the f**king patch, right? Holy s**t you guys are stupid. This didn't just unlock something on your disc, and you were going to have this locked content you couldnt access regardless of whether or not CAPCOM locked it on the disc.
I'm sorry but if Capcom wants more $$ for more fighting games,they better start releasing higher quality stuff. I don't mind if they add tons costumes or additional characters outside the disc in the future, even if its a bit pricey. But there is no excuse for locking stuff on the disc. That's an insult to their fan base and really a big waste of development time.
I can't see Jill and Shuma DLCs in the PS store. Can you tell where I get them? =(

As far as we were told the patch only contained stuff regarding Shadow Battles and Costumes which both aren't on the disc unlike Jill and Shuma who were already hacked off the disc.
Either way I'm really pissed at Capcom's persistent abusing of DLC. They somehow manage to get away with releasing half baked **** this entire generation despite them announcing everything 2 years prior to release.
Already got them both for free. No hate for me either because I like them both already though I may need more training.

Why? How are additional characters "a waste of development time" when the fans constantly agitate for this very thing? You are arguing that you are not only entitled to anything they do whenever you want it, but that not getting it is an "insult" to you. Can you possibly have any reasonable argument for supporting these claims, or did you run out of medicine?
@36: these people are idiots. Basically, they want everything for free, even though at the absolute bottom line, no one is forcing you to buy any of this. What amazes me is that they think whining about the situation will somehow fix it to how they want it.

i love jill, she doesnt do much damage but shes fun imo. Her command grabs can be kara'd with her feral stance, and to get full damage of her machine gun super, you have to cancel her her flip kick or somersault to hyper since she'll basically launch them then follow them with the animation of her machine gun hyper. Her knee drop is over head and can be cancelled from any normal in the air, m and h ver. does ground bounce if you hit the opponent in the air. Instant overhead against sentinal x knee drop and all that good stuff. Thats just basics but im sure people will figure things out along the way. Moves that might seem useless will probably become really useful, i mean they had to put it in there for a reason..right?

The whole point of dlc is to allow further development or making additions to the game. Forget the price, I love and hope that they can take some extra time and include a ton of new characters without delay of release (assuming there's more than 4). But really, whats the point on taking the time during development to make these characters, place them on the disc, and then go and hide it somewhere for later sale?

Bro that's exactly my thought. I though that the version on the disk was like some beta u know but something that small can't be much of a change if any. Capcom really pulled out the money number on his fans. I know they were short on time but you'd think they'd use that gap to work the dlc's. Shuma looks polish but Jill's animation are just f*ucking awful. hope there will be 2 more characters and definitely a huge f*ucking update and Capcom need to hire desk because he did all the testers work for them, finding game braking glitches and all. Still a fun game though.
Ive gotta say in my opinion.
Jill is really good, Shes dashes fast, and her combos are really unique. Her supers are really good too. First i thought the gun super was useless. But i figured out that its really deadly when in the air and close to the opponent. But her vlv 3 is crazy, you need big practice to pull those fast dashes, i mean i can't even do the motions but i need more practice.
Shuma Gorath is awesome. Hes like a limitless combo breaker if you get more practice. His mistic ray is really useful. All his hypers are all great.
But the down part about it is that they both have weak defence like Zero or Akuma. But they are really good if you just keep them away from danger,
Oh and their assists B is really helpful too.
kl, will probably pick up shuma as i have 400 points left over on my account from a previous purchase, can't see myself actually crediting my accoun to so i can get jill as well tho. dont think i need her on my team!
