Updated: PS3 Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC fighters were available

Updated again: Some users are reporting that this is working for them again, while others haven't had any luck and Capcom may have locked this down, giving users an error code during the installation.

Multiple PlayStation 3 users have mentioned that they've been able to grab Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath early by entering in the redeem codes that came with the Special Edition of Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

These fighters are scheduled to be made available as DLC some time on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 for Xbox 360 and PS3 users who do not already have redeem codes from the special edition. Gamers who picked up the Xbox 360 Special Edition will be receiving a redemption code via email.

Well, this turned out quite the happy ending! Now people who bought SE actually have something that those without it don't have.

And I don't have SE, so don't think I'm just cheering for myself. I just found it to be a happy coincedence.

I tried it myself. No go. Error code 80029780, but it was able to be redeemed.

Patch?
I just got back from Europe and used the redeem code before switching profiles. I never bothered to get any patch since after purchase since I haven't bothered online/Left the PS3 at home.

It doesn't seem to qualify as en excuse.

@17 agreed! I always get really anxious when I try to break the rules and it doesn't work out... but I really doubt they'll disallow us to download what we paid for.

Shuma feels weird, but I like him a lot. I feel bad that I tipped that they were up early, and now they're down again.
I just sorta randomly decided to try the code on the off chance I could get them early.

Anyway, Shuma is awesome, but I'm playing Team Keepaway for now, and Jill....I've come to terms with.)

Did it in one shot at 2am. Shuma feels the same. Jill takes some getting use too though. I miss the old Jill though :(

Got mine @ 1:00am CST!!! Jill is something I'll have to get used to, but Shuma feels a little faster to me. Maybe he's just faster than some of the other characters but I like him hes got a lot of good moves
