So let me get this straight: due to an unpredictable cataclysmic event caused by nature in Japan, the release of DLC in the USA may be getting delayed because...... ? I mean yes its a tragic event, just like many other tragic events that have happened throughout time, but to delay DLC , something that was anticipated and has no effect, moral or otherwise, on the quake in Japan seems illogical , no ? Its not as if delaying the DLC worldwide is going to stimulate support relief for the quake victims, thats like saying if millions of cows were slaughtered as a sacrifice to some religious deity, all of a sudden im going to stop eating beef, just my 2 cents
Its already been a month since this game came out that's crazy. If the dlc is up tomorrow for the states i wonder what time we can get it.
I can understand that. For a disaster like that, I can wait. Other people who can't wait needs to learn patience!
#2 I think it's more a case of not being able to get on the internet via lan in a great portion of Japan at the moment, It may be hard for Capcom to actually upload the content.
@brooklynfiazko
Let's say something unforseen happens and there's a problem with the DLC. Who's going to fix it?
@ #2
You wouldn't have this game if it wasn't for the Japanese. So what you're complaining about?
I know you F'in trolls ain't complaining about this after what just happened?
Catalyst, don't let these guys start this bs.
people, You knwo there are mass evacuations going on as we speak? You don't think these programmers and developers have extended families and friends they might have to attend to? Put yourself in their shoes. If you had the job of managing Online Content and an event like Japan happens to you and affected not just you but your friends and familes that may need your support? You really gonna forsake your famaly for a bunch of people (like you) who don't know you and you don't know them and probably don't care about you?
You all smokin some good shyt. /End Sarcasim
You can handle a delay for a bit I believe.
People need love more the other people, not the machine. We are doing it wrong.
It must be weird to still be checking SF news over there.
I wonder if this could be the gaming equivalent of the writers strike in Hollywood? If DLC is postponed, whose to say how many Japanese games are going to be delayed/shelved now. I mean, Nintendo alone needs rigid release dates, what's going to happen to their 4th quarter earnings now?
p.s. this wasn't to be rude, just to point out some theories.
@2: yeah thats understandable if it comes from there then i have no choice but to wait and wont complain but if it can be released here, why delay my enjoyment for what i paid for, im not in a rush but seems like a silly reason
@8 : if the DLC is the issue thats fine, but to stop the sell of something here just cuz of what happened over there ? its not selfish, I want what i paid for and stopping it from being sold isnt going to affect japan
@9 ok so they created but will you stop playing MVC3 and go over there and help the crisis relief ? yeah its tragic and everyone is missing the point, im not saying forget the quake victims, im saying delaying what i paid for doesnt help them either and those who say it does, please tell me how delaying DLC will help them ? other than we all get jill and shuma at the same time ? its a video game, treat it as one, a purchased product
@12 rage much ?
@13 THIS is what im getting at, yes if its controlled from Japan then the delay is inevitable and im sorry for what happened over there, but if the DLC can be released here without any burden to the Japanese in these unfortunate times, then why should it not be released ? not a selfish act at all but to those raging on here, what are you doing to help the quake victims ? im pretty sure not a damn thing except prayer and sending condolensces
It's possible they want to maintain a worldwide release so there are no regions with access to characters while playing online that other regions cannot obtain yet. Imagine your frustration to log on against a team with Jill and/or Shuma but having no way to play as them. I can understand this logic for a delay far more than "the DLC comes from Japan." Surely the America office has access to the American version of the DLC for an American version of a game.
@ brooklynfiazko
Ok, we get it, you want what you paid for, you said it like 3 times. Even if I had paid $100 more for the characters I would understand if they didn't release it tomorrow. YES, it would be nice if they didn't delay it, but $hit happens.
"How will delaying dlc help them?"....Wow you're an moron.
I honestly can't believe people are T_T over DLC....Are 2 characters so important to you that the game is unplayable for a week or two while they recover? Fcuk, you didn't have Jill and Shuma for a month...what's a couple more days??!!!
Again, so many people miss the point here, its not trolling, but no one here yet who has TRIED to bash me has even explained what they are doing to help the victims over there ? are you sending money ? food ? flying to help rebuild communities ? @22 i know its just news and i was speaking my 2 cents, its only trolling if i was someway talking bad about the victims or the event itself, most people who comment here dont have enough common sense to read what i wrote, all they want to do is RAGE ABOUT THE QUAKE without even doing anything about it, so to all you who raged about my comment, lemme know what youre doing to help Japan ? oh nothing, rage on trolls, the feeding has ended lol
@ Brooklynfiazko
Okay, this is the best explanation I can come up with.
"This Is The Real World"
@2 1,000's died and you're complaining because you don't get two characters you have 36 to play the games been out what 4 - 5 weeks you can't have learnt everything. STFU you scum. People in japan have better things to do now than go to work and do work and realse the DLC. They have to make sure their family is okay, their homes are ruined.
Since we know it has to do with the earthquake in Japan, it's understandable. I can wait.
Don't try to play the "What are you doing about it" card around here Brooklynfiazko. You sound like a selfish prick who doesn't really give a sh1t about other people's welfare. Admit it douchebag.
Whoever can help the tragedies in this world the better. If not, we can at least send our blessings and condolences to them while they recover. The point is that it has delayed the DLC due to an unfortunate disaster and it's a terrible thing to have your home or loved ones lives destroyed and while all you can think about is a damn DLC.
to 50Sent: My heart goes out to your friend's relatives. I hope they go through it safely.
@25
They are saying that they are unsure if it will effect the release worldwide first off, so it may be released they just don't know as of yet. All people are saying here is that if they do have to delay the release of it to do something to stimulate support relief for the quake victims then it is understandable. As for asking what people are doing to help the communities, I'm pretty sure some people have donated, or would if they had the means to help out. Ok, if you went to pick up a pizza you had ordered but when you went to get it the building was on fire. Would you still expect them to bring you out that pizza since the kitchen was still intact? Pretty sure the priority would be to stop the burning before giving you that pizza.
hey maybe it'll be for free?
I understand the delay cause of the disaster, but it angers everytime i look at my special edition
i think that is so f u c k i n g lame! i mean i totally think what happen to japan is totally messed up, i feel so sorry for them u know,but they have always had things come out before us and just because they had an earthquake we cant cant get it before them ridiculous if u ask me hahaha whatever capcom is always trollin people i love ur games capcom but u guys are lame to the community sometimes i hope i dont offend anyone because im not trying to.
First people complain about the dlc. Not they re complaining they wont get it "in time"
I love interweb attitudes.
And this is why we should all wait for Mortal Kombat.
The DLC can wait. Alot more important affairs are happening in Japan and the staff at Capcom are probably dealing with family issues due to it. Far as I'm concerned, we still have a lot to learn about the current cast (as Combofiend & Justin Wong proved at Final Round's MvC3 finals when the dominated with non-Sentinel teams) to be worried about 2 new characters.
Haters. I welcome your flames.
First off, this is a legit reason for DLC to be delayed. They shouldn't be expected to care about giving us two characters when their family and friends are in danger and possibly dead. Don't be so self-centered and selfish.
Second, almost everyone on here was screaming "AHHH STUPID CAPCOM MAKING US PAY FOR TWO DLC CHARACTERS ON DISC ALREADY. I WON'T EVEN BUY IT, GOD CAPCOM TROLLING US ALL DAY RAAAAAGE", and now everyone is mad because those same characters are going to be released late for a legitimate reason.
I understand why people are mad if they paid for the dlc already. If you have a personal problem, you still have to eventually go in to work no matter how tough things are
@bk yeah same here. It sucks but its tough times for them. I heard some other non capcom games are getting hit harder.
As far as I know, CoJ's HQ is based in Osaka, which, to my knowledge, was virtually untouched by the waves and quakes. Granted, it's a bit of a national crisis, outdoing even Katrina, but that's not really a legitimate excuse to delay the DLC since they're doing alright. That's like telling your professor "Well I didn't finish my term paper, but only because my distant uncle I've never met died." Shows how much you guys pay attention to current events, but it doesn't really surprise me.
(echos his previous post)
Really. I think it's less "DLC comes from Japan, Japan suffered horrible disaster, now DLC can't make it to other territories" and more "Capcom wants to maintain a worldwide release so everyone can use the characters at the same time." I mean, delaying it for Japan but no where else seems more like a middle-finger to Japanese gamers than a courtesy. But that's just me.
I don't think people understand how this DLC works. Capcom doesn't need to develop anything, especially not from Japan. A code needs to be sent out by XBL/PSN, a code which is probably already ready to launch and has already been submitted. It would make absolutely no sense to delay it anywhere outside of Japan because no part of this process outside of Japan is affected at all by the earthquake. It WOULD make sense to delay it in Japan though, because power outages are keeping people from reliably being able to access the internet... in Japan.
So stop talking about rebuilding the country or making sure everyone is okay and all that crap, it has nothing to do with anything in the US/UK.
F u c k the dlc if we are told to wait I could care less some of you act like OMG with these two new character I will lvl my game and someday I will beat lv. 3 x-factor sentinel. Nice to see how some of you care smh.
The only people I think we should be complaining to is the dang HAARP for possibly causing the earth quake in Japan. Okay, the DLC might be delayed, but it's not going to hurt us, folks. We waited like what, 3-4 months ever since the announcement of DLC characters, and I am pretty sure another month or so is not going to kill us. Heck, the release might even come earlier if we are lucky. Lets all be thankful that the earthquake did not hit us.
Do people here actually watch the news going on anywhere? Do you actually check news sites on the interweb at all besides gaming ones?
There is more than "just an earthquake and tsunami" going on over there. They have 5 nuclear reactors fighting meltdowns chernobyl style and have already had radiation leaks with a meltdown iminent on one of them according to Japanese Officials.
Try looking at whats actually going on outside of your little gaming bubble sometimes please.
@67
No, it definitely is worse. It's like the difference between not giving a homeless person food and taking food away from a homeless person. One is clearly worse.
@71
That has nothing to do with DLC for people outside of Japan either. Was this DLC delayed as a "feel bad for Japan" kind of thing? Because there are still countries I'd hate to be in more than Japan. Some parts of Japan are completely unaffected.
What happened: Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan resulting in massive damage and death.
What could have happened: Earthquake/Tsunami in ______________(Insert your current location), resulting in the amputation of your fingers from being crushed by debris and the breaking of your xbox or playstation....in which case you'd never play again. So be thankful and patient.
That was an insane hardcore earthquake/tsunami and now Japan is on the verge of nuclear meltdown... and you troll dummies wanna complain about delayed DLC.
/facepalm
The only reason Chernobyl is even brought up is history of nuclear meltdowns along with 3 mile island. Guess you watch Fox News or something if they are making those comparisons of how they are fighting it which BTW they did a crap job at informing those who were helping out that the air was dangerous which led to more lives lost in the long run in the chernobyl meltdown.
@71 LMAO
Practice what you preach. If you know anything about what was going on the the reactors, you'd know that not only is a Chernobyl level meltdown impossible and many steps were taken DURING THEIR CONSTRUCTION to ensure that such a disaster would never happen again, but that very little radioactive material has escaped the plants. Hell, it's not even a meltdown.
Please, get off your high horse.
1st thing, I haven't posted on this site for MONTHS cuz reading the news and strategies are more then enough for me (THANK YOU EVENTHUBS :) )
NOW WHY I POST TODAY?
Because I find it ridiculously selfish that some people in here keep and I do say keep complaining that the MvC3 DLC has been delayed because of the earthquake in japan.
WTF? have u no heart?
WHO CARES U PAID FOR UR LIMITED EDITION MVC3
WHO CARES YOU BEEN DIEING TO PUT SHUMA OR JILL IN YOUR TEAM
WHO CARES THAT IT DOESN'T COMPARE TO CHERNOBYL,HAITI,OR 9/11 (YEAH I SAID IT)
WHO CARES WHAT U THINK!!!??
LIVES ARE LIVES!!HUMAN LIVES! If its 10 people or 1000000 people who died in japan they have ALL THE RIGHT to delay their DLC just to show respect OORR handle any issue they might encounter.
Seriously WHO THE HECK YOU THINK U ARE?
Its because of that country we are able to enjoy technology,games,cars, amines and a whole lot more from their culture..because of them we are playing MVC3 and i KNOW that the US cant make a game like that!!!
So for the WHINERS,HATERS AND HEARTLESS.
STFU!
And show some respect for the poeple of japan.
I bet if something happens to your family you wont be even posting stuff in this thread!!!
Japan my hearts out to you guys get well soon and idc ..
If the DLC have to be delayed till next year ill gladly wait.
PEACE!!
One more thing..
I DARE you to watch the footage were the tsunami swallowed a whole multitude of people....
That's one of the most sades things i saw.....
None of you even know what the DLC submission process is, and as such what complications to said process a natural disaster might bring. For all we know, there's nothing intentional about the delay and that the quake literally renders the DLC unable to launch due to massive lack of internet via lan in Japan right now. It could be that their contract requires simultaneous release for DLC and so they are legally bound to delay it until it is properly distributable in all locations. You just don't know, so stop assuming this is a conscious decision by Capcom and have some respect for the company and the people affected by the disaster -- wait a few more flippin days for your precious characters.
[Talkin' to you 50Sent amongst others]
http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infe...
Thank god. There is good in the world after all.
lol thx 50sent but its a waste of your time to keep posting here, most of these responses are knee-jerk and they want to scream about the quake ,ignorance is bliss and ppl just rage to rage cuz they want to, so far #82 has given me the best reason as to why the delay and if legalities is the reason then thats just fine and dandy, to the rest of you trolls .... LOL .....that is all
@74 and 78
They are still fighting temperatures in some of the reactors as we speak and still saying a meltdown is entirely possible in at least one of the reactors. All I can say is read the news and check YOUR facts before laughing at what others say.
But this is the internet, everyone is a know-it-all, and apparently experts in nuclear physics and reactor construction.
lol prime example of rage, give up 50sent, you cant win !!!! its like fighting a young Rocky, YOU WILL LOSE !!!!
@random where not comparing the devastation of Chernobyl just the fact that the handling of said situation is different
lol @ all this. I bet if the USA's DLC wasn't delayed and Japan's was and they asked the USA players to wait to download the characters until Japan was ready to then NOBODY in the USA would wait for them. Not even the people saying "be patient" like it makes them better than the people that want the DLC right now or something. JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT THE DLC CHARACTERS ON THE RELEASE DATE DOESN'T MAKE YOU BETTER THAN THEM BECAUSE YOU'RE WILLING TO WAIT. Some of you are just trying to make yourselves look good in these comments.
In any case whenever they release them they'll just release them so whatever happens will happen.
Permission to troll me granted. BRING IT!!!
So much indignation and flatout stupidity in this topic. Way more than usual.
Christ almighty it was a bad idea for any of you to pay for the SE any damn way, for the simple fact you don't have access to the characters any sooner than the person who decides to play later.
Yo Free, while I agree appropriating a horrible natural disaster in the name of making yourself look good is an awful thing, that's a pretty poor analogy you have there. This isn't really a question of gladly waiting in respect for the Japanese, it's more of a case of not being selfish and getting angry that their unfortunate situation has delayed the DLC. I'd happily buy the DLC here while it's delayed in Japan without any tarnish of my moral standing, but if the states has to wait then people have to realise that it's totally out of order for them to get pissy about it.
@82 Reading all the stupidity and the lack of common sense on this site, your comment is an example that smart people still exist. Thank you sir.
Jesus, so many people are getting very emotional and completely missing brooklynfiazko's point.
@ brooklynfiazko.
I think post #20 is pretty much the answer you're looking for. That makes the most sense.
@102. I understand where you're coming from but at the same time people have to understand this. Its easy for them to get pissy about a possible USA delay for the simple fact that the earthquake isn't happening to them. Therefore its futile to try to make people have respect for this situation if they dont already have it.
Ask yourself this. If the DLC was delayed because people at Capcom forgot to upload it to the xbl and psn and not because of the earthquake would people in here still get jumped on for being impatient? No. They would all instead be verbally destroying the guys that screwed up. Then where would all their "respect" be?
I think that we have no right to complain in this situation; even if the dlc was delayed until the end of this month. There is a legitimate reason for the delay. This forum is actually one of the better ones. If you go to GameFaqs and other sites, they are horrible. Not to mention all the manga sites; I didn't know that delaying mangas would cause such an uproar. People are also complaining about not being able to play Final fantasy online; which is absurd because Square Enix gave all players the month for free. It's sad really.
@104 i knew there was a reason the word awesome is somewhere in your name :D thank you
Have any of you guys checked the update its not delayed in the US. All of this arguing was pointless.
Seriously though people just want to argue for the sake of arguing no at days *sigh* join the debate team
@ #107
your right people been complaining because their favorite amine or manga cannot be released at this time.
Its just sad.
@19 Actually I don't rage much at all, I just have a heart, something most people here seem to lack. Japan is having it's own personal cataclysim and people where worried why Capcom could'nt release the DLC if there were other delays. Yeah i'd say thats something to rage about.
Sometimes I do rage about Sentinel though XD
@107 really wow thats pathetic I'm in to anime & manga and the thought of being without it for a whst could be a long time hadn't bothered me one bit some people can't live without watching a filler truly sad.
on the plus side jills level 3 feral is frikkin crazy good
@94
I don't have to check my facts, I live this stuff. Just so happens I am a nuclear expert. I have multiple advanced degrees, and a decade in the industry. The Japanese BWRs are nothing like the Russian RBMK. So comparing it to Chernobyl is ridiculous. Also, I don't think you have any idea of what a meltdown actually is. The fuel could melt and still stay completely contained in the reactor vessel, just like it was designed to do, just like TMI-2.
Gotta love the internet, you watch something on the news and you think you are an expert. Some of us actually are! The difference between you and I, is that I don't go posting about stuff that I'm not an expert in.
If you've got the Special Edition, or are just waiting to get yourself the newest Marvel vs Capcom 3 characters, tomorrow is the release of Jill and Shuma-Gorath! These two fighters are a set of additional DLC to add to your Marvel vs Capcom roste...
WHO SAID YOU LOSERS WILL NOT GET YOUR DLC TOMORROW .IT'S ONLY IF YOUR FROM JAPAN.
YOU PEOPLE ARE EVEN MISREADING WHAT WAS SAID SO YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT NOTHING ,
HUMAN TRASH LIKE YOU LOT JUST TRYING TO FIND A REASON TO BE COMMON CLASS TRASH AND ACT IMPORTANT , A BUNCH OF PRETENTIOUS LOSERS OF THE LOWEST DENOMINATOR
ON TOP OF THAT THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU
WERE CURSING CAPCOM FOR HAVING SHUMA GORATH SAYING CRAP LIKE IT BEING A JAP HENTAI FANTASY ALTHOUGH THE CHARACTER IS MARVEL ,NOT TO MENTION ALSO COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW JILL LOOKED UGLY AND UNIMPRESSIVE BLAH BLAH BLAH .......................NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU PUNKS NEED DLC , COMMON CLASS PEOPLE .LOLZ
Let the company get their stuff together. They just had a major natural disaster, fukc yo dlc! ;)
Aside from a tsunami and earthquake, there is fear that there may be a radiation leak. These people are dealing with hell right now. Do you really think your dlc situation is as urgent?
And we wonder why they call us the AHoles of the world -__-
Bummer :(
