When Shuma wrapped his tentacles around Chun-Li and started gyrating... I gotta admit, I was slightly aroused.
I didnt even bother checking out the "unfinished character" videos that already appeared on SRK, simply because If there was any defects with the game, I could kind jump start my hype about the game. I think they are some nicely made characters.
But in other news, I hope Ono announces 2 more DLC fighters in the near future

I don't recall Jill having Axel's double downward knee move on the hack version. Jill feels like she's stole a few moves from Streets of Rage lol. Shuma has one move not shown on the hack version, it shows up when he does an air combo--helicopter spin.
I would of preferred Executioner M over Jill and Dr. Strange over Shuma lol. Luckily I bought the Special version, these characters are good, but I'm not hyped about them.

Honestly, Jill Valentine looks a bit stupid; they should've given her more work. Her move set and look from Marvel vs Capcom 2 was a lot better in my opinion.
As far with Shuma-Gorath, they could've did more, he just doesn't feel all that right to me. On top of that, he's suppose to be a demon of the highest order capable of shattering entire realities. The voice they gave him just doesn't suit him at all; I expected something really demonic and chaotic, not this pansy voice over work.
Also, besides that, Chaos Dimension is beautiful, but that eye super isn't really impressive; If they made it a plain beam super that hits Diagonally and can be combo'd from the (S) Launcher, it'd been a lot better.
I don't see what all the complaining is about. Jill looks pretty awesome and that Double Knee Drop move was her second best melee move in RE5 and looks great here. She looks great and I honestly think I might main her.

Anyways, shuma looks like a boss with his arm crossing pose and I may possibly main Jill. She's fast as Hell with her speed up hyper!
Compared to the rest of the cast the damage output of the new dlc characters looks weak. I would definitely say that Jill looks kind of weak but you can never tell until we get her in the lab who knows she could have some dirty exploits.
@aqua, ya i took the game back b4 i opened it. I tried it at my friend and just wasnt impressed with the lack of features. Im going to buy it when its dirty cheap as well and all of this stuff is included for free.
Ive had these characters playable on my Jailbroken PS3 (I own a legit 360 copy so dont sue me), I used the same hack that the original hackers used by swapping their in game files for Viewtiful Joe and Modok's. Other then the following issues
1. The character select screen sounds still say Viewtful Joe or M.O.D.O.K when you selecte Jill/Shuma.
2. Jill's missing some voice over like tag-ins, and win quotes (When you tag Jill in, your other teammates still refer her as Viewtful Joe).
3. Under Gallery, character sounds won't work for shuma/jill
They play perfectly.
Unfinished my ass Capcom, anyone who buys this, expect to download an unlock file less then 1mb to play as these characters who were on the disc all along.
Silly kids that doesn't know how this things work! I told you that the characters were finish! You are downloading a 100kb unlock key file on March 15 and that is all!.
You need to accept that so far the DLC characters are very bad and honestly I don't want to see Mega Man X to be something like that. We need X to be as good as Zero or even better but if Capcom can't put something decent out then it's useless!

Do you have access to a jailbroken PS3 ?, have you played as these characters yet rather then just watching videos ?, cause I have. Hacked Shuma is 100% finished and will be completely Identical to his DLC counterpart, and other then her gun hyper not connecting fully and missing her win quotes, Jill is 99% finished to.
I have the 360 version to play online or as Modok and Joe if needs be, and whilst I can only play as Shuma or Jill against the CPU or offline, I didnt have to pay for them either because THEY'RE ON THE DISC!.
Jill looks terrible, and Shuma looks amazing. I can't wait! Waste of flesh!

Both of you are giving a subjective opinion about the game. Neither of you are right or wrong and are entitled to your opinion. Some people just don't like MvC3 and I think it's a fair personal judgment. You can't make someone like something.
MvC3 does have some presentation flaws though IMHO.

Needs more "Charging S.T.A.R.S" and "Yes!" and zombie summons. I never got why Jill looked so different in RE5, they explained it but it's kind of a cop out, they just wanted a bad ass blond girl character trope so they overhauled a classic character.

What happened to people being happy about games and things being released. Before the game came out everyone was all hype and excited. Now every time I come on here I see crying and complaining. Every now and then you just got to appreciate the small things. Perfection comes with time. Think of this game as a new i.p. the next one they make will have 36 characters to build on. Then you can get all the clones you want.
Should've been Sheva instead of Evil Jill. Evil Jill was a one shot and has no relevance anymore. At least give us BSAA Jill. Or Nemesis... Well too late. Shuma Gorath looks great fighting characters that he could destroy in a wink of his EYE. LOL Chun Li. He keeps you alive because it amuses him.
Im not passing any judgement. Alot of characters that looked like ass before the game came out are great. Jill looks pretty cool. Not sure what her Gun Hyper can be used for, but Im sure it isn't for damage. Maybe its Invincible or something.
Shuma looks cool too. He has hella range on his normals. And does a Bad Ass pose after his throws lol. Never really played Shuma in MvC2 so I can't compare but he looks cool in MvC3
P.S. It kills me how people are like " COLLECTORS EDITION!! I GOT IT FREE ". No you didn't morons. The Collectors Edition was 10 extra dollars. You just paid for them early is all.

This looks like the "incomplete data" leaked a while back. So what did Capcom apologized for again, them not being ready? I'm confused. Damage output isn't anything big to hold data, like that hasn't been patched through updates like any other beef-up/nerf update.
I never played Shuma and other than Jill's Lv.3, nothing too exciting here. I'll wait for the next batch of characters that are hopefully not on the disc.

MvC3 Needs, a little bit more Variety for it to shine like it's Older brother MvC2. And that's all I need. I don't need replays at all. Or a spectator mode for that matter. It makes the battles better because you can't prepare for your upcoming match by spectating from afar.
OMFG Jill still looks like garbage. Don't get me wrong maybe she's a beast of a character, but her model looks bad, her normals look bad, her specials look plain, and her hypers (with the exception of the speed boost) look too simple and lackluster.
Shuma on the other hand looks like they put a lot of work into.
I'm still happy I got the SE though, fcuk paying $5 a piece for the characters with getting everything else.

I agree that Jill isn't offering any more variety and yes, those dive kicks also reminded me of X-23 ... but MvC2 didn't have much variety except for many clones and underpowered characters.
I hope the next characters are more exciting. Will there be more than 4 though? That would suck if that were the case. I fail to see where they'd fit anymore characters, unless they change the select screen.

and unless you got your hands on the actual DLC versions of the characters I doubt you can truly say "oh he's 100%" and you're still can't play them fully as they're suppose to be played(online and if you want with MODOK or JOE on your team)
Why are so many people asking for more SF or X-men? I understand they're popular characters but this game isn't Street Fighter vs. X-Men, it's MARVEL VS. CAPCOM. I may not have liked all the character reveals at first (see: She-Hulk/Felicia) but I now love the wide variety of characters, and gameplay, we get. Heck, I can go through and pick random teams and still have a blast with any team I get! I would be sad if this was the exact same cast as mvc2. Which is what many people seem to be demanding - then complaining that this game might as well be mvc 2.5!
Wow, those that wasted their money on the special edition are a little sensitive about it! The only thing not garbage is the two DLC characters. I'll pay the $5 total extra to get them. I would have paid more to not get a crappy steel case. It's just a bonus that I got the normal case version for $40. $45 total including DLC, and not getting a bunch of extra crap is great! Nothing says "virgin" like wearing your free MvC3 shirt. I hope they came in extra large!

I'm not sure why you got so focued on the T-shirt part of my post, maybe you are wearing it today and my comment just rubbed you the wrong way? I never said every copy of special edition came with a shirt. I said (#120) that everything that came with the special edition was garbage, and threw in a seperate T-shirt jab. I did not delineate between where someone bought, and what else it might have come with. It's all garbage. Regadless you completely missed the point. Everything that comes with the special edition is garbage. If I had to pay $60+$10 to get the regular edition + DLC in a regular old case, that's better than getting a bunch of junk and a crappy metal case. It's just a bonus that I got the game for $40.
Don't worry about jill to much in the strategy guide she has 2 100% combos. one in the corner where she keeps tiger kneeing her double knee drop H (about 4 times really) and another one where she keeps using a feral crouch in to low sweep over and over again after making contact with a H or back+H attack. That just alittle of what she can do.
Can make a statement.. Is 10 dollars really going to put you guys in so much debt? You do know capcom DOES NOT have to release ANYTHING for this game. They could of just released the game and left you with that. They could of left jill unfinishd and shuma lost somewhere. Extra costumes? They didn't have to do it. They are taking money and time from their own schedules and decided to give the fans things like this. And 10 dollars isn't going to put a dent in your wallet, unless you are jobless or a little kid. Give it time (assumming none of y'all played RE5. If you have, that's her new look. Get used to it). As someone said before (xshonufx) opinions are neither right or wrong however, before passing judgement, use the character. If you haven't , then you cannot judge. Watching a video doesn't equal hands on experience. IMO, she looks great. Though I think Sheva's way hotter (IMO). Another thing...to all those whining about the game bugs...news flash; all gamese have bugs when they're released. The patch will be made avaliable when Capcom when they got the time. She may have some great gameplay. Still, I I believe Sheva's way hotter than Jill (IMO). Sentinel has a bland & unispired design (according to most people), yet it's used a lot online. Why? Because it's a robotic beast. Also, Jill looks good in them tights lol =)

@86. Yeah she was a one shot. Evil Jill was introduced and then freed from Wesker's control in the same game. Sheva was alive and kicking at the conclusion of RE5. Loved the Sheva character, thought she was sexy as hell. Would've LOVED to have her as DLC instead. But Evil Jill is a bad choice, because the personality won't match any alternate looks they decide to give her. Why is RE1, RE3, ot BSAA Jill stabbing at the camera with a needle?
I know but why represent such a small piece of Jill history with that one time she was being controlled by Wesker? Hell even the SE comic had her free of Wesker's control. Why polarize the fans so badly? They missed a lot of opportunities to have her normal personality w/all her looks. Like Thor, for example. And Cap.
Then why does marvel comics have the most recent version of them selves expressed but not Dante? I infact like the older more mature dante. They however used the most PAST version of him. Marvel chose which version to put in. It's basically a big commercial. I'm half surprised we didn't get movie versions of Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor. Surprised and grateful. As for Dante they can always substitute his other look and it wouldn't be as weird as tube top wearing Jill from RE3 acting like crazy RE5 Jill. I mean let's put Evil Ryu in the game and then give him regular Ryu for an extra costume. I know a lot of Jill fans who were pissed about Jill's unnecessary redesign in RE5 (oh does mind control turn your hair blonde or did she DYE it that color?) and there are just as many saying that the are pissed about the inclusion of this version in the game. Just saying that Sheva makes a lot more sense here. She was the newest female face of RE and the only thing I hated about her was the forced co-op aspect of RE5. Which wasn't a flaw of the character, but the game. RE5 could've been great but then there was that whole racism fiasco (I guess we can't set games in Africa now LOL) and they had to rework the whole thing.
If you play RE5, they explain why her hair turns blonde and how she becomes more pale. If people actually took the time to read the little files scattered through out the game then they would know what happened and how it was caused. Second, Jill is EXTREMELY more popular then Sheva, to the point where she was ranked in the top 10 most memoriable female character in many of those list. I like old brunette jill myself but I don't mind this jill either, As long as I have a jill in this game i'm fine.
I didn't like RE5 and thought it was a big step backward from 4 (which was my favorite game EVER). So no I didn't read the halfarsed explanation why they turned Jill into Nina Williams. At any rate I'm sure the majority of people who voted for Jill were thinking about RE or RE3. Or even the Umbrella Chronicles. Personally I don't care. I'm not a huge fan of Jill but its hard not to notice the raging of the actual fans.
I think it was stupid on Capcom's part to include RE5's Jill in the game. Then again, 'Ninafied Jill' wasn't the only Jill in RE5. There was also 'S.T.A.R.S. outfited Jill' in RE5: Lost in Nightmare which I think Capcom should have used instead for RE5 in general and MvC3. I'm not really a fan of Jill but redesigning a character with a large fanbase is never a good idea. Ninafied Jill would have been best if she were revealed to be Cherl Birkins instead.
If I remember correctly, everyone thought the blonde was Birkin in the beginning. Just think about the utter OUTRAGE there would be if the dyed Ken's hair black and gave him a dark tan.
There is nothing wrong with blond Jill if anything its a current interpretation of Jill because I'm sorry it would just be stupid to have S.T.A.R.S. Jill along with B.S.A.A Chris and Neo Wesker. I'm happy with this Jill and just taking it for what it is. When I actually played through RE5 and read what happened to her I was alot less mad and actually I thought blond Jill was really cute in her own little way. Its just this games current version of Jill I'm a HUGE Resident Evil fan and I got over it and so can you just give her a chance.
