Spotted on Air's blog.
Wow this game looks really slow and pale now. Thx mvc3 fate of two sentinels...
I was rooting for the Seth but he chocked plain and simple why go for a DP when you couldn't FADC out of it bad guessing it would have been okay that first time but then he did it again come on.
that seth worked his arse off in that, the ryu seemed like he was nothing special, seth deservered the win imo
i miss playing SSFIV becuase of the pure mind games, u dont get that very often in MvC3, and that seth completly mindf*cked him haha :P
Same here, Lowdojo. SSF4 is amazing.
AND as for the matches... Zeni is my favorite Seth player, and I'm proud of that boy.
SSF4 I think is better MvC3 is all about getting that one hit in at high levels for mvc. Really I like SSF4 better because if i win in it its nice if I lose I understand and move on, but in mvc if I win I just feel like I got lucky when I lose I really wanna stop playing.
Agree with what everyone's generally saying about MvC3. Also, I find viewing the matches boring for some reason. When I watch SSFIV matches I'm entertained by the mind games and I get the feeling I learn something a lot of the time whereas MvC3 is just a visual blitz.
Haven't bothered watching the new Gootecks/Mike Ross "Adventures" vids for the same reason yet (despite really enjoying their SSFIV stuff).
While I hope MvC3 is a success for Capcom I pray it's not so successful that they ignore "traditional" Street Fighter moving forward.
@11 yeah. iirc ive seen air's ryu before and he plays a mean, aggressive pressure game. zeni just got into his head...
" While I hope MvC3 is a success for Capcom I pray it's not so successful that they ignore "traditional" Street Fighter moving forward. "
don't worry SF will always be more popular than MVC or other vs games. Alot of countries don't even care about mvc2 or 3.
I can see why people are saying Zeniside should have won. He did have a lot of impressive moments, whereas Air mostly capitalized on punishes with combos for huge damage on the glass-jawed Seth to go along with the occasional crouching forward into EX fireball. That said, you gotta give Air a lot of credit for hanging in there, not freaking out after the perfects, and coming through with some really clutch comebacks and close finishes to win the tournament.
Really fun set to watch.
@28
TRUE!
but so far for now... im still currently playing more SSF4 than MVC3 ...cuz MVC3 is still having a lil' bit of problem playing online (specially on PSN), game and characters are still not balanced, im not to hype bias about its new gameplay mechanics and systems, so little roster (got to expect for DLC which u have to wait and pay), fun fundamental is not here compare back to MVC2, and many more! ...idk but it might just be me but i find this game so incomplete and rushed just for marketing sales or whatsoever! so i'll rather play SSF4 more than MVC3 any other day unless MVC3 get its respect like it should be !
i fought zeniside once in jays stream with my makoto. i actually won the first round- then i got destroyed, mercilessly. i then became nauseous for the 3 hours after. just wanted to share that story.
Majority of people that complains about MVC3 probably is not good at the game. SFIV was catered to being defensive and easy to play, that's why it's so appealing. This is the same as to why 3S fans don't like SFIV too, it's too easy and makes bad players think they are good.
Even when Blazblue first came out, I showed it to over 10 friends who are die hard fighting game fans. But all but 2 of them gave up within a week and said the game sucks. I asked them what they truthfully thought and they honestly said, "It's TOO HARD!"
In my opinion, MVC3 sucks for a different reason... spectator mode.
@crispylinks...I agree that SF4 is a DEFENSIVE game but i don't agree with it being easy to play. Because one the LINKS make it hard and utilizing the focus/FADC properly is always challenging for new players. Lets not forget about tech throwing. The gameplay is easier in mvc3; combos, specials, supers, and whoever hits first and continues combos the best wins.
I however like both games.
@Crispylinks
Finally someone said it...
SSF4 is easy and even bad players can get wins with the huge input window, leciency and ultra system. THe combos are braindead easy, if you can't link well then you suck. Crouch tech is btw not hard... lol.
MVC3 has some easy combos but the rewarding combos that give a lot of meter can be a lot harder than most combos you got in SSF4. The fact that mistakes are heavily punished makes is something that can show the huge difference in skill between players. You got to know how to block well because of the high dmg, something similar to older games.
IMO both games sort of suck...
@36 people have been saying it since Vanilla probably main reason 3s online is being brought in to shut them up if they tweek that game though it might go the direction of HD remix... where barely people play it.
If you think Air took this because of Ryu think again. I've seen this Seth player on the peaceful Jay stream and he murders Ryu players I've seen him destroy Alex Valle on there before. Air won because he's damn good.
in the end like it or not street fighter will always be capcoms biggest game more people will play it all over the world what ever version is out there at the time.. mvc3 is a great game just like there is other great fighting games out there but for most ppl in mvc there is just too much happenin on the screen, for me i like 1 on 1 matchups and i think that appeals to the majority of the community, whether sf is a better game than mvc or any other fightin game, is really just down to matter of opinion so who cares lets just enjoy that fighting games r making there way into our lives again, peace out
I think all our opinions are stupid are fall on deaf ears in the end so why bother, enjoy what you like and stfu.
Air had an impressive Ryu, as always. Love seeing his methodical play style and an answer for every situation.
MvC3 and SSF4 shouldn't even be compared, really. Two different types of fighters, and we don't know where MvC3 will be going. I can agree with the sentiment that the game is cheap (easy combos + x-factor), but I'll also give it a chance until I know for sure that's all there is to the game.
Whew, good match!
I have to say, Seth is an amazing character to watch at high level, so entertaining, his rush down and mix-ups rock.
The difference in playstyles is that Zen was going for combos, resets, and mix-ups. Air obviously prefers a classical zoning type game and as such, it's drab and dull (but effective). There was a lot going on in Air's mind and his reactions were spot on. Also, lol at 5:55, Seth rapes Ryu and doesn't afraid of anything.
Those Jumping Fierce punches by Zeniside were really good.
Good matches. Just one too many random DPs by Seth though.
And can we start getting bans for people who turn every SSF4 thread into MvC3 vs SSF4? If you like Marvel, good for you. There are other threads and forums for you if you'd like to talk more about that.
agree with #50. If he didn't try to do those few psychic uppercuts and other bad reads, then he had it. heartbreaking, but definitely one of the best matches i've ever seen.
...this was the greatest match I've ever seen. if zeniside didn't try to shoryuken air so much, he would've won.
ssf4
i missed you
