This game is going to make so many SF4 players rage.. I still have my Dreamcast at home, can't wait to play this with my stick on XBL. <3
SF4 Players get ready to get schooled, old school style.
Man, its a whole new world. Definitely going to take some getting used to. Do want to give it a shot though.
Looking forward to 3SO. It's time the new wave of gamers experiences 3rd strike heh heh. Unfortunately, most will probably complain about how they don't like it, but to that, I say, treat it like a new game. There are always new games that come out and no one knows how to play it. So if you haven't played it, regardless of it starting 10 years ago, hey it's new to you. Take on the challenge! And see y'all online ;)
@13
lol this only proves that EventHubs should have an edit post option.
Gotta love the hiphop klassi-erm, I mean, classics. Been playing too much mk9 :/
oh man im so sorry for those who are acclimated to sf4 or introduced there, your in for a rude awakening. this game is deeper that R. Mika's cleavage. man when i frist played this back in the day in an arcade in L.A the new generation and 2nd impact ver.i got destroyed from a 14 year old lol man this is where skilful and frauds will be exposed, there is gonna be a lot of frustrated fothermuckers with broken joysticks, madcatz is gonna makea ton lol
I'm ready to get my ass kicked in order to learn this game, SF4 haters be damned. You gotta lose to win.
It would've been nice to see a wider variety of characters in this video, but this will most likely be the pattern of character selection once 3SO comes out anyway...

Edt?
@33 What are you talking about aside from two comments most have been positive a surprise I know.
Aside from the fact I find the characters mostly lame I'm going to play it a nice change of pace if you will so far only two characters even remotely tug at my attention that being Alex & Elena.
I got too used to playing 3S on American sticks. Gonna be a hassle getting used to my TE all over again :(
and #35, ain't that the truth.
I think one of my favorite things in 3S is that there is no such thing as impossible, only a series of good or bad reads. Not even "unblockable" is free. Given that there are probably only a handful of people able to parry through them, just remember there is always a chance heh.
This is what Capcom has been trying to lead everyone... Back to what many people could not understand over a decade ago. There can be no V until you understand III. I have always wanted to play this game long ago but never fully could due to lack of skill and I had no idea how to play at an arcade(nervous long ago)
Now that I finally gotten over that fear and win or lose, I have stuck to learning and playing with a fight stick... I now wish to try this game and many others...
I wish I knew about the fight scene much sooner. I cannot explain it but although I have not gone out to any of these streamed events yet, it just gives out this amazing feeling of excitement as well as acceptance. Like there are others that feel as strongly about fighting games as I do. That love to better themselves and to make new friends and form groups and just constantly playing to have fun and improve.
I would love to one day be considered to be one of the best... Clearly there are others much more deserving of that title than I but, I hope I will be one of those lucky ones.
T.R.O.Y? 93 til? I don't know that better music could have been chosen for this vid.
Great vid too, lol. "...It happens." LOL.
@28 - same here, I'm a fan of both. Love me some 3S, and even though it's too defensive for my tastes at times, I love me some SF4 (whatever version we're on now, lol).

Do not mind the long Shenmue intro, it's mainly there for entertainment value.
Also do not mind the "basics" in the title, it's really the "what you should know" part that one should focus on.
I never played this game "seriously". Here in my city we kept playing SFA3 and CvS (1 & 2), because our local arcade never bought the game. Well, kinda sad to live in Brazil and far away from the big cities. But I could stay 10 years playing CvS2, and that was REALLY great!!!
Maybe this is the right time to try out SF3.
actually all the characters can use normals, spacing, normal cancelled to specials/supers, parrying or jumping to deal with jump ins.
There is absolutely 0 need to go into character specifics. That's for you to figure out if you ever actually play the game.
@37 The only think keeping yourself from being the best is you. Anyone can be the best but only those who work hard and practice will eventually become the best.
Strive for more and don't settle for less.
3S is different from SFIV but the same basic principles apply, it's just a more input strict game so you can't short cut it. Also Parrys change the game big time but like in this vid there are ways to play againts it.
I also don't believe in this 3S players better than SF4 players. I think the right people, even those new to SF will rise to the challange of SF3, hell I think those who broke the cherry with SF4 might like 3S better.
@44 In that case.... I will one of the best for this generation then. I just need to find steady competition <3. Just so many good fighting games coming out. I am happy for this. Now if we could somehow bring back the arcade scene worldwide.. All will be great with the world again.
As everyone else mentioned, great gameplay tips and excellent choice of music. it totally goes with the 3rd strike feel.
Great video, great music, great experience.
