Being a moron who thinks purchasing all of said items is required: Priceless
Being an even bigger moron who undermines the people who have to go to work everyday to produce said items: Also priceless
Mago isn't overrated, your retarded if you think that. I'd love to see Mike Ross play him again tho but it must be recorded.
Seriously, I know these guys are afraid of having their techniques imitated, but how are you going to be in the competitive space and refuse to be recorded.
Go play in a closet somewhere if you don't want to be recorded, Mago. Total bollocks.
dont do it mike ross unless they film it. you won so its on ur terms.
#14
All the more reason this should be no different. If it was Mago and Mike having casuals, it would be of no consequence to me. However, there is something at stake here, and over the years, money matches have ended up some of the most intense fights in recorded history.
If there is a prize to be won, then the risk of being on public display should be accepted.
Let mago do what he wants, its up to the players if they gonna take on that challenge.
first of all, Mago called himself "2Dgod", then everyone else followed.
2nd, Mago is not overrated, he won 2 GODSGARDEN. which Tokido, Sako and Nemo only won it once.
3rd, Mago do not want the match taped maybe because he's going to show some tricks which he saved for EVO.
Plus, I have no doubt Mago will reference video of all of Mike's latest matches as he prepares for a possible rematch, as most sensible competitors would.
For him to take full advantage of the recorded medium and refuse to be recorded is full-on hypocrisy. There's no reason one would refuse to have a salty runback recorded unless that person is afraid to be put on blast if the lose. There's no way he should be able to take a man's money without facing the cameras.
@ #24
If he was scared, why he offer the money matches?
#22
Mago can make that request of anyone he wishes to challenge, but to make that request to someone who is:
- Open to public scrutiny
- Used to fighting in tourneys which are streamed worldwide.
- Has built an audience by recording matches of fights he experiences online and locally
...is just nonsense if you are going approach a player as public as Mike Ross. It seems to me that if Mike does agree to a rematch, he'll have to do so without filming it, otherwise Mago will rescind his offer. If Mike was the challenger in this situation, then he would have little to say in the matter. However Mago is approaching Mike, a player used to being filmed and makes no attempt to hide it. Mago should know better then to ask for a film embargo when challenging Ross for a rematch.
@#23,24
Considering he already lost on Camera, what is left to be 'exposed'?
And Mago set the terms of the match, it's not like Mike told him 'I want a money match on cameras' and Mago said 'No'.
You'd think a guy after winning a couple SBOs would stop having such retarded comments cincerning him.
Oh well.
Lol at Mago doing great in Japanse tourneys, but has yet to prove himself in International tourneys. I guess he's really salty. If i were Mike, I would not accept (especially knowing he is more likely to lose) and then all it would have done is fed Mago's ego and not really prove the already known fact that Mago is a better player imo.
i bet mike ross going to accept it, even if he knew there is a slaughter house waiting for him, what mike ross gonna lose? couple of dollars or the chance to fight one of the best player in the world one more time?
I can't believe some clown on here called Mago 'overrated' :E :S :Z
Well, historically, the Japanese have been a bit more secretive in gaming techniques. Maybe it's not that he has anything new to share, I mean he's played Fei for a long time, but in any case, it's one more match that would help people analyze how he plays and reacts to those specific characters. Meh, it happens. We're used to everything being recorded now, but there was once a day that people actually did keep secrets to themselves :p
@#38
I always thought the Japanese are always sharing their technology with each other?
@#36
yes, Mago did get blown up in all 3 international tournaments, and 2 of them were by Daigo during the tournament grand Final. and by mike ross at shadowloo.
@WinstonChurchill
Don't worry about SAMURAI lol. I stopped taking him seriously when he posted this in another thread:
"Fei is not easy to use. Fk fadc chickenwing into ultra is difficult, not everyone can do that."
@lazyboyterry
whats up with all these tards saying someone got blown up when they win 2nd place?? and stop over using the word
he got second at mvc3 to tokido.. that says alot
@#48
Lol hes seems to be having fun with mvc3, plus he has countless hours poured into AE in the arcades. Dont make it out like he as if he lost due to misspent time on the wrong game.
@ people talking about mago lost
Hes probably pretty salty due to the fact that not only he lost, he lost to match ups that are in fei longs favor and being known as the best fei and not making top 8. One thing is to get eliminated by a bad match up which seems to happen to alot of people, another is to lose when you have the advantage.
I can understand that Mago doesn't want to reveal his game plan prior to EVO, but in this case he may as well set the date for this money-match after EVO if he's gonna challenge a public fighting game community figure like Mike Ross, because those matches should definitely be recorded.
@47
It's the new buzz word for scrubs to say so they can pretend to know tourney lingo. :P
@#46
I just get more and more shocked by some of these comments each day lol
just like daigo,mago is also capable of losing,how many times we seen daigo lose to a seth player,hakan and even by gen,mago is one of the best in the world if any one of us would challenge him we will get slaughter but it was his time to lose to Xian and m.ross,mago should just accept his lose and continue to improve himself and let them two enjoy their victory because you know next time it will probaly be a slaughter,but congrats to them for showing that japanese players in street fighter are only human also.
Here's a fun fact: Mago doesn't care about what you think and neither does Mike. They are both amazing players regardless of the haters and they'll do whatever they want.
The end.
I would Pay to watch Mago and Mike money match. Got my money on mIke all day
Plus they'll both be mates and have a laugh with each other afterwards. They wont take it to the intensity that some individuals are taking it to in this thread i.e. #36
I think Mike Ross should do it. It would help prepare him for evo and he might even learn a few of Mago's trick which would help him if they meet up in the brackets. But he has to remember Mago could also use this to create a strategy against him. So he has to be careful not to show to much of his own tricks.
Does ae honda really have that many tricks he can do? Viper, Akuma, Ibuki I can understand, but Honda? idk
I've heard Arturo and many other commentators say "blown up" "exposed" "bodied" even when the match was really close.
@jpcampusano
no crap, but it doesnt stop everyone from talking about it, you dont feel like you have a opinoin? then click the red x at the top right of the window and go watch tv...
I on the other hand, think this is hillarious. I love the speculation and im sorry but im going to have to side with the people who feel that Mago just doesnt want to get exposed....sorry but its true.
If i was mago and i wanted a rematch, i would money match him right there on cross counter tv, everyone can see me win or loose, who the hell cares? im eather gonna whip his ass, take his money, and show that im the best, or get exposed, loose, and hold that L to my chest all the way back to Japan.
Im not gonna win, go back to japan and tell Daigo
*that trick i was saveing for evo works...guess that means ill beast come tourney time...*
frek that...
Diago doesn't want his money to be recorded too. Diago doesn't want any of his arcade matches recorded.
i think Mike Ross should do it. free money is free. why would you care about if the match is record or not?
my guess: Mago is/was holding back on technology that won't be revealed until Evo. maybe he wants to use it against Mike, but not have it be released to the public.
sounds like someone took a trip to Salt Lake City either way though.
Mago is arrogant enough to believe:
a) if he wins, he feels all accomplished in taking Mike Ross's money, etc
b) if he loses, he can just claim 1) it never even happened or 2) he won, because after all, whose going to believe some American over him?
Yes, I am insinuating he has a superiority complex about both himself and his country.
*Sigh* Why are people complaining about this? HE ALREADY GOT ''EXPOSED"' BY LOOSING TO MIKE INFRONT OF 10K VIEWERS.
Now he's having a rematch behind closed doors, so even if he wins no one was there to see it and if Mike doesn't really hype it up or talk about it nobody will even realize Mike would loose (For E.G). So there really is no gain as in fame for Mago, just maybe 50 bucks and a rematch to prove to himself that he could have won.
He def. sounds a little arrogant though, but let him. At least he isn't like..Marn or whoever that would film this in front of thousands of people and post the vids on his twitter, facebook wherever to prove <insert person> is free.
TL;DR: This feels more like something to prove to himself that he can do it. (He lost to a matchup that was in his favor..he lost to an American player..he lost before top 8) he needs to redeem himself to prob. peepz like Tokido/Daigo talking about it. So redemption O_O
@5 I wouldn't bet on that Mago would lose to poongko. Mago destroy Poongko in the team session. Mike was playing on a high level on his run and had the best of mago. Even poongko wanted to face mago in the finale . He wanted that rematch he lost to mago. I even knew Momochi was gonna lose cause his Yun was no match for poongko, Only person had chance was Tokido, Mago. and RF to beat poongko. even tho poongko beat RF/

Diago doesn't want his money to be recorded too. Diago doesn't want any of his arcade matches recorded.
http://iplaywinner.com/news/2011/6/28...
Before you say stuff you apparently are not sure about, it might help idf you did some research first. Otherwise you kind of look like an idiot.
Geniuzz, you might want to do more research. people wanted to record diago's arcade matches and daigo said no. as for console matches, Daigo has no option since he lost. I bet if he wins, he will not upload them.
@72
Come on... you think if Mago lost he would claim it never happened or that he actually won? He may be a bit arrogant, but that's saying he is a complete lying douche.
If he beat Mike it's not like he can then allow a video to be posted... works both ways.
Well I think comparing those two is ridiculous.
Did Mike Ross win any big tournament? will he ever?
Unless he does, he is just that guy who beat Mago...so what? It's not like he won ShadowlooShowdown. He placed 9th, that's good...
Mago has proved to be one of the best players in the world. Mike Ross does ok/good, but not great!
@86
I tend to agree... Mike is a great player, but isn't this situation the same as when Jago beat Daigo except Daigo didn't want to money match afterwards? I don't hear people going crazy about how Andre is better than Daigo (granted it's a tougher argument to make). Let's see where Mago and Mike place at EVO.
@#83 Nope. Also typing it several times incorrectly in a post doesn't constitute a typo.
Yeah I was referring to his post in the first place :P don't sweat it lol
@88
I think it's more like when Marn beat Daigo at SBR.
lol this stuff is hilarious. Everyone is hating on Mago and d!ck riding Mike Ross. They're BOTH top players. To any of you who have actually been to tournaments, you will know that sometimes you have a good day, sometimes you have a bad day and get knocked out by someone you are sure you can beat. Who really cares whether Mago wants to run it back with Mike in private? I have no doubt it would be an exciting set, but if it's something they agree to do privately then that's entirely up to them. This whole US/Japan beef is just stupid! And to anyone talking smack about either Mago or Mike, I'm almost certain they would beat you all 10-0 is a first to ten, so stop knocking on one top player whenever they lose to another top player.
Mago sounds REALLY salty.
