gief's gameplay was changed, in super his goal was setup a knockdown so he can do his mixup.
in ae his gameplay is more about wiff-punishing.
this means the knockdown of greenhand does not really infact giefs strength
i think btw. that this the reason gief is so high rated by the japanese. many of his hard matchups became alot easier because of the spd change, not just because he is good vs the twins l0l
No knockdown on ex flat was his only nerf... to me it was a pretty big one... but all the other changes other than the range of jab SPD i over looked pretty hard. glad this video was made. now i can continue to choose Siberian Blizzard and not have to do it instantly to catch them off guard anymore.
as a guy player I think his biggest nerf was to his lariat honestly, it is much easier to hit him out of lariat spam now, and ultra 2 is only scary if I jump, a proper bait kills that funk. ultra one on the other hand.... terrifying

Its funny how they treat him, First his Larat was weakened and then his green glove was, but both times they made his grabs stronger. I think Capcom is trying to tell us that they want us to grab with him lol.
i like how this isn't just theory crafting but he shows actual matches (albeit they're online)
