Team compLexity has joined the fighting game community again and launched a new division with Mike Ross and Gootecks as managers. Gootecks will be handling the media side of things and Mike Ross will manage the players, under the compLexity: CrossCounter umbrella.I always did see Gootecks as the boxing promotor kind of guy. Well deserved guys!
@10 then you're in the minority among gamers. They had the most famous American Counter-Strike team at the height of CS's popularity.
This is great news for the fighting game community. More sponsors jumping on board will blow up the scene, bringing in a lot of new people.
Mike Boss, Combofiend, and "There You Gooo" Gootecks!
Awesome stuff. I'm liking the attention they're getting.
Real happy with what CompLexity has been doing picking up console players. They picked up MLG Halo professional team Triggers Down a couple weeks ago. Then they go and buy ROOT gaming and grab some great SC2 players. Now they go and enter the FGC with Gootecks and Mike Ross? Good stuff coL
@1 How can I audition for this? I wanna be part of the team, I think I have what it takes. 7000PPS 7000BPs!
I don't know about you guys but the first moment I saw Gootecks commentating, I knew that he had talent in that agenda. Actually, I think he interviewed Daigo at Evo a few years ago; at that time I didn't even know who Daigo was lol. I actually thought Gootecks worked for gamespot or SRK or something. It was only later that I saw his show on utube. Mike Ross does a really nice job as well and they both work very well together. Anything that helps the fighting community is always a good thing.
they're gonna get raped by eg just like in the sc2 scene
I bet Complexity are so annoyed they didn't sign this guy: http://a.yfrog.com/img738/7615/9zsu.jpg
Nothing weird about that guy at all.
@ElectricBlanka
Online points don't mean anything in the long run.
Complexity is my favorite TF2 team, so big props to them for picking up Mike Ross and Gootecks (who were literally a gold mine imo; why did it take so long for someone to pick them up?).
Still, I work for one of EG's sponsors so I'm kinda salty that we didn't get them ourselves.
@35 It didn't take long. Mike Ross has already talked about sponsors approaching him before. He was just waiting for the right one to come around. Which is pretty professional of him, considering a lot of players may have jumped at the chance for anyone to sponsor them.
Anyway congratulations to those two, god knows they deserve it.
Combofiend and Viscant are the first 2 team members, easy.
#33 - real fact, as opposed to a fake fact?
Even realer facter fact:
The PC gaming scene is well known, large, and lots of PC players will be enjoying AE online.
but I digress...Congrats to Gootecks and Mike, Creative is a nice sponser and they make good cards.
Congrats Ross & Gootecks, hope all goes well.
p.s. keep the shows going please :)
Mike Ross & Gooteks are very entertaining. Only thing keeping Mike Ross from being a top player in Mvc3 is the characters he picks. If he would replace Thor with Wesker or wolverine. He would be top 5
LOL @42 yes it seems ROSS is hell beant on that big man squad he has. Plus i think he just wants to be the best Thor user since barely anyone takes Thor seriously. Hell I've used him on my team more or less as a tank and things didnt turn out so bad but i only know extremely basic combos with him heh.
Anyway congrats to the two of them I only recently heard about them but I really enjoy their show. I think of them more like 'The Neptunes' of fighting games lol. Fairly light skin black guy and really asian guy, both talented at their craft lol.
Interesting. I will talk to Mike Ross and gootecks next time I see them at WNF.
so excellent adventures may be auditions now?
should up the ante
