Ooh that's a tough one. Master Chief doesn't really fit in with the cast of this game so I'd say talk it out with Rare for a Killer Instinct character.

#3 is pretty clever with that one, But it would have been more clever to do that with MK since Midway along to make Killer Instinct in the 90s.

Link was a really cool guest character for Soul Calibur. I don't think it necessarily ruins the integrity of a series to have guest characters.
I don't think there are many 360 exclusives with memorable characters because, like someone already said, they're all a bunch of derivative shooters. I mean you might as well make Cliff Bleszinski a guest character.

DoA didn't have Master Chief. That was a female SPARTAN. But I get what you mean. I'd like to have a character from Fable 3 who can change stances from Brawler to Zoner to Grappler. I'm not sure about other people, but I don't want to see a Gears of War character in a fighter.

Marcus Fenix would be better than Master Chief, at least he fights in the game with some take downs, but of course he very much a shooter. Mortal Kombat as guest characters wouldn't be a surprise either. The question I have, Why was Ed Boon in the background when Seth K. was getting interview with someone from Shoryuken.com? Not a fan, but It wouldn't surprise me if Phoenix Wright was a guest character as well.
Sony does have punchy characters lol and have tons of options. These are also possible if they only done Sony Exclusives as guest characters:

Any could fit in regardless what people think, it just depends on the fans. To me this game needs all the help it could get because for me, I'm just not hyped for it lol...

actually i totally agree with you. i only posted my opinion as kind of who i wanted to see in a future X game. this however should be kept stictly Sf X Tk. and i hope to god Cole aint in the ps3 version, as i dont even like infamous, dont even know who he is, and dont even want to have anyting to do with him, or him to have wnything to do with this game as a matter of fact.

They should add Shepard from Mass Effect. He could be a rushdown (Vanguard/Sentinel close range) or keep-away/projectile (Adept) character. For Ex attacks he could use barrier (super armor) .
As for super moves, he could use Shockwave or either Adrenaline boost to gain stronger attacks and increased speed, similar to Juri's first ultra.
Me being serious now:
I think master chief would be the most obvious one.
1. His games are hardly gorey. He's easy to make into a clean fighting character.
2. He's been in an anime. Forgot the name, but Japan probably looks at that with a positive note.
3. He's easily recognizable as a big title hero.
That's what I'm going with. Though Capcom does have a history of not choosing obvious characters *COUGH*megaman*COUGH! I believe that they'll go with this.

360 really cant compete when it comes to exclusive characters thar are so marketable. ps is just tryin their best to exploit that and get a litl momentum back after the whole psn thing. when i really think about it, i havnt seen it announced on the console side like when mike ross and maximillion were playin that cole was "revealed". i think hell just be a vita exclusive kinda how ssf4 for 3ds has that eclusive over the shoulder view which is kinda cool but not for the more serious fighting game enthusiast.

I totally agree with you, but hate to disappoint you Cole is in the PS3 version as well. Reread the top heading and plus Cole has been announced for the PS3 a while back. I'm not a huge fan of Cole either, but he resonate better in MvC 3, C-mon a super hero in a street fighting game lol. Cole is just there to promote sales because this crossover, I think is the less interesting one ever. I would of been happier with Cap vs Snk 3 or even Capcom vs Shonen Jump. Or they should of went with Capcom vs Namco (a fighting game version not that old one lol.
Man if this has too many exclusives and they could of put characters like Guy,Elena or Raven and such and such in that's Street Fighter related, but they got kick to the side for exclusives that would be stupid lol.

I say Kratos to be a guest star because he was an awesome guest star for Mortal Kombat 9 and I hope Kratos was still a guest star for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 9. So I say Kratos.

It's too bad, Street Fighter X Tekken will have guest stars. The finalized character select screen to the game will have a separate menu for the guest stars like Mortal Kombat 9. I'm going to wait for Kratos to reveal.
Just throwing this out there. They don't make games with the mind set of "This needs to be in EVO OR CEO" or whatever tourny is out there. Not every fighting game has to be tourny material and it isn't a waste of time and or money providing us with a extra character.

I hate console exclusive characters. If they are going to take the time to develop a whole character, make it for everyone. I never use Kratos in MK because the whole community does not have access to him. Also, there are so many great tekken and SF characters. Why not just add as many of those as possible for everyone to use on all platforms?

#37 some FF characters in SCV would be awesome I think, i mean they already put half the ffvii cast in a fighting game before (ehrgiez) although they were mostly clones D:! That would prob help drive sales as it looks like the soul calibur series has been relying on guest characters to help move units nowdays (c'mon star wars characters?).

Nothing wrong with guest characters. If a character you like doesn't end up in the game, it's not because a guest character took it's slot and is "a waste of one". It's because said character was never planned to go in to begin with, doomed from the start. Sure, there's probably a "tiny" bit of elbow room in regards to top fan requests, if they already haven't been considered, but yeah...a bit too early for a the whining when we know next to nothing of the final roster. And hell, if there's a chance that these guests can be a gateway to ideas for fun new crossovers in the future, then i'm sure as hell welcoming them.
tl;dr Roster/Number of Characters is more than likely set in stone. Guest characters are purely extras for free, not wastes.
