I thought his hcf+p throw was gonna get a damage nerf. It still looks pretty beefy from what I saw it do to Adon.
I like the video because of the DK country music haha
We need more Guy players around. He's truly a fun character to watch. His mixups and corner pressure should go hand in hand with the general offensiveness increase of AE. Hope combofiend wins a lot more with him from now on.
btw if you recognize/love the Donkey Kong Country aquatic track at the beginning of the video, I played a piano version of the song a while ago if you wanna give it a listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi7TD_...
^^ Nep, it's Dubstep baby, international Dubstep from the man like Skrillex. If you don't know, get to know (try 'Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites').
Skrillex did a massive gig with Deadmau5 in London last weekend, smashed it. Almost as much as Kiryu Tsukimya smashes it with Guy!
One thig I would say as a Guy player tho- don't try that at home kids. Guy has a very narrow range of combos, and it takes a lot of practice to be able to pick the right one on reaction.
But hey, that's Bushinryu for ya!
- It sounds like a symphony of car alarms, or optimus prime getting raped up the ass.
- "womp womp womp womp womp" - dubstep party, where everyone is too high or drunk to realise how terrible it is.
- I could become a dubstep millionaire by sitting at a computer pressing random buttons, and calling it music. Actually I will just hire a chimpanzee to do it.
- It is a remixed version of the natural communication methods used by glub monsters.
- WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP. Wow, so much talent went into those WOMPs and bass! Autograph my glow stick!
There are no legitimate reasons why anyone dislikes anything, everything is opinion. If I listened to some jpop-orchestral-metal-reggae-techno all-in-one weird ass song, there's no way it can be "legitimately terrible". To me, dubstep is just a completely random series of beats which don't have a rhythm, along with some exotic electronic effects that seem to stun and amaze people.
And if I asked you to give reasons why dubstep is a great music genre, you can't.
@16 Ending your post with that sentence makes it seem negative for dubstep. Everything has a balance in this world so I'll finish with this:
If I asked you to give reasons why dubstep is not a great music genre, you can't.
I don't take much stock in these type of videos anymore after seeing Infiltration give Poongko a run for this money at a recent tournament. After seeing the many videos of the Poongko in action, I thought that he was a Seth god ... until he lost matches to Infiltration. It makes me wonder if some of these videos are cherry-picked.
This is some top of the line Guy play. I really respect his skills to utilize the right moves at the right time.
But the music, oh the music. I can't imagine anyone listening to this music for pleasure, and I'll tell you why. It's bad enough that I have to listen to that Alvin and the Chipmunks song around Christmas. Why anyone would want to duplicate that experience by choice in their own home is something that I cannot grasp. I'm not even saying that it's devoid of technical skill or anything like that. Now, this genre of music may not be my cup of tea, but even if it was, this would be like someone painting a really nice picture and then deciding later to just draw a bunch of dicks all over it with finger paint.
Anyway, I'd like to see this "Guy" more. I'll have to look him up.
the amateurish video cropping made it impossibly annoying for me to watch it. Why the hell did he do it?
Ignore my retarded comment above. It's just the embedded vid on EH doing that.
Ugh, all dubstep sound the same... you start up with som high-frequency tones and a extremely auto-tuned voice and then do a couple of drops into some low-frequency tones, preferably with a scream or something alike. The rest is just repeating what has already been played so that the song extends to somewhere between 4-5 min...

someone who knows what I'm talking about
Kiryu Tsukimiya is sick
F**k Skrillex and that brostep nonsense ha
Lol just about all music is terrible these days so it makes little difference saying dubstep is bad.
Dubstep not garbage just all the bs used in sf movies, trailers and combo vids is ha. As usual when a genre gets a bit commercialised u tend to hear all the crap like skrillex, mt eden when really that's not even dubstep haha.
I'd rather have Dubstep then a rap song going on about bitches and hos, just saying. Then again, its a bit confusing that people are complaining about the music used than the actual content of the video.
As for the Guy player, amazing stuff, I'd probably be pretty free against him at my current skill level. I know that Guy is low tier and very hard to use properly and he makes it look easy, damn.
Noob question. Is he using a lot of frame traps? Is that what the pauses are in his offensive play. Just trying to get my terminology right :-)
Dubstep isn't really my style, I agree it's quite bad music. I think it requires some small talent for music, but other than that it's a load of bass. I can't say I've listened to a huge ammount of dubstep but it's played in every club here and people look retarded. Although the zelda lost woods dubstep remix is pretty good:P
to answer #3's question in super the grab did 200 damage in AE it does 180, might not sound like much but in situation where it would have KO'd before it doesn't now.
It makes me laugh that people can come to a forum like this and get all excited about the most advanced electronic games on the planet, but then hate on the most advanced electronic music on the planet at the same time!
If you think that 'serious' guitar-based bands (or any modern bands for that matter) are not using computer technology in their production, you are living in a fantasy. Different genres just make the presence of the computer element more or less obvious.
Anyway like the lobby song says: 'Get on the dancefloor'!
@49 - 180 is still hella big damage, the 20 points was a price worth paying for the buffs :)
@ Raius1
Same here the stuff here was sick especially since it was all done in match. Also the music was gdlk. Phuk the haters and your limited music view.
I tell you one thing. Producing dubstep or any kind of electronic music for that matter, is not a question of just sitting at one's computer "pressing buttons". It requires a knowledge of computers, a knowledge of music theory (whether you believe it or not those sounds are notes in a key), knowledge of synthesis, and finally a knowledge of nearly every aspect of audio engineering. You may hate the music, but don't pidgeonhole anything like electronic music production as "Pressing random buttons on the computer" when you, in fact, no absolutely nothing about it and can not speak with any authority on the subject.
This guy is oldnews because @ the start in super he was beasting with his Guy. Im glad hes finally gettings some probs =)
