Here's a rundown of what you can expect from the Cross Counter team's E3 special.
After sneaking into the VIP area of the Capcom booth at E3, Mike Ross, Gootecks and Combofiend give you an exclusive sneak peek of Street Fighter X Tekken. Mike Ross explains the combo, juggle and meter system and then Gootecks and Combofiend play a match.
Afterwards, Gootecks gets an in-depth tour of 3rd Strike Online Edition from producer Derek Neal. We go through the parrying challenges and combo trials as well as brand new training mode features such as Save State.
Tip from Ian.
sfxt looks incredibly redundant with the generic combos... seems like every combo gonna result in a tag.. everyone has the same properties... i rather have combos like ssf4.. 1 frame links and all.. this looks super generic
@5 the combos don't seem to be a big part of it. I heard that there is some crazy cross ups and setups and playing footsies is the next big thing. Meaning this game is slower than marvel with less exciting combos with more pokes and faster than ssf4 with less tick throws. I'm exicted because everything I like about both games are on display
@5 it might look generic right now, but this is 3rd day like they said. The combos will get fierce, and this isn't even the finished product of the game don't be so harsh on it. The games combos are very much like some of capcom's classic fighter such as Rival School and Alpha, which both turned out to be fan favorites. Give it a chance man, I mean the game hasn't even come out yet haha.
As for 3SOE, that is my dream being answered better than I dreamed of it. I am SO ready, the Ken to Q combo made me sad tho haha, I played Q and I've had that combo and ones similar to it pulled on me multiple times haha.
Can't wait to see the rest of the roster in SF X TEKKEN, I would hope to see Oni and Birdie.and I also hope that Capcom can come up with extra modes like Tekken does such us Customization for the characters. And also 10-12 colors for every character like SFIV games. But this game is going to make CRAZY SALES and it's going to KICK SO MICH ASS. It would be good if that was the roster for now and then you was able to UNLOCK THE REST OF THE CHARACTERS. So the game can have some replay value.
@9
Let me guess. you want some pre-order bonuses for fanservice? and a helicopter that can work underwater?
Wow Seth was right when he said that it would be pant wetting. Cant wait to finally play 3S and see whats so great! =D
Hmmm I wonder if capcom is going to do an exclusive like when they release mvc2 for ps3 you got a limmited game case with a DLC slip inside when you preoder it from game stop. What you guys think?
I get ultra giddy every time I see that 3SOE demonstration. Good call on the pant-wetting, Capcom.
I hope to god this will revive 3s on the scene. Seeing monsters like Kuroda, RX, MOV, and Nuki annhilate people on EVO or other major US Tournaments is my dream.
This is going to sound weird (though not a comparison that is all my own) but in a way SFxTekken has a bit of something from Marvel and SF4 but also with it's used of continuous juggles and how they interact with specials moves, a bit of the new MK. I like all those games so I'm stoked.
SFXT is starting to be a beast. I like OE for its massive amount of features. But I think the game, though Arcade perfect, will be short lived as AE is here and all the baddest tourneys will feature AE an not OE.
@14 Vergil9229, actually it was Ono who said that.
Yea SFIII3s OE is looking amazing and so is SF x T, if its $15 and that was the price for AE I think it was about a tenner in GBP so yea I would gladly pay that for OE.
Also that is some nice art of the MvC3 stick, wish I had some art to put on my stick as its a SFIV RD2 stick and I've been thinking about just getting some stickers and sticking some heavy metal art on it like bands I like and art from or something. Not that I dislike the art on it I just to throw my own touch on it cause I don't want to take the damn thing apart as it all seems too much trouble ^^"
I thought I would never say this but Capcom take my money now. 3SO is looking to damn sweet. GGP0 means that we could quite possibly play folks from all over the world.
Holy ---, 3SO... I want it NOW. So many features that need to be standard not just in fighting games but games in general! Insane, insane stuff.
Can't wait for SFxT either, although as a Tekken fan I really wanted to see more of the Tekken characters in this game and how they're implemented (particularly Julia if she was even available). I understand why they didn't play many of the Tekken characters though (familiarity for demo purposes).
So much fighting game hype right now! How am I going to make time for all these games?!
SSFxT looks like easy mode. Everything made simple is going to end up being boring to watch. With a emphasis on watch.
Well, looks like SFxT is already hated more than MvC3... Greaaat. Well, it's in it's early stages, so we will NOT be seeing full potential yet. I'd be more willing to try out the Tekken characters before Street Fighter, simply because they have new controls.
Dumbed down SF4 gameplay with Tekken juggles + Tekken characters + tag mode = the death of hype. My main problem with SFxT is that, along with MvC, it's inevitably going to be Capcom's main focus for the next few years. This mean no DarkStalkers and that's really depressing.
This is the thing. SFxT is going to be WAY better than MvsC3. But NO WAY is the "easy mode" nature of the game going to take the lead spot away from the "Meta Game" heavy SSF4AE.
Not going to happen.
Also, I kinda wish the game engine hadn't been built around the Tag feature. It should have been like MK9.... One on One with Tag in a separate mode.
3S:OE is complete value for money. SFxT looks very easy and seems like its designed for players who find SF4 hard.
Gah already tired of playing AE, i still dont get whats so more offensive oriented with the game if the twins arent involved in a match. While alot of the turtle style characters took a hit it doesnt stop people from resuming that playstyle. Damned friction battle that causes enough frustration to not even enjoy the win at the end of the match. Even had quite a few twin users go for a time out even when they didnt even have the life lead, guessing they hoping i would just come in recklessly and start taking unnecessary damage.
Sfxt looks a bit solid and faster paced. Doesnt look like i would have to take 15-30 of a match to walk someone to the corner while trying to counter poke anything they throw out just only to get any meaningful damage from throw set ups.
Juggling system looks a bit fun but the characters dont seem suited to aerial combat unlike mvc3. Also doesnt have the large amount of meter like Darkstalkers/mvc3 have access too, so i can see that being a limit on combo potential and depth. They claim tekken juggle system but havent seen anyone getting carried of the ground during a combo or any of the bs wall combos. Shaping up to be sf4: combo juggle edition with the fine print of"we are sorry about the harsh damage scaling in sf4 have fun now!"
3sOE is a steal for 15 dollars, old game or not, the features alone are good enough for a purchase
That interview w/ the 3rd strike producer really got me hyped! sounds like he and his crew packed it w/ great features- i hope they'll be put in charge of more titles in the future. Again- really impressed!
Im sure there will be alot of changes to sfxtekken before its released, this is after all a demo. I just hope that they makes some adjustments to the throws(yea, they need to be good) and the launcher. I know they want to see alot of tags but they need to make it cost meter.

I use a variety of characters, but simply just trying to rush down against people that know how to play the game doesnt work out to well. I usually use the 3 main grapplers, fuerte, guy, rose, dan, bison, vega, honda, adon, and trying to pick up evil ryu due to him being able to stomp on people like bison :D.
So im basically forced to try and push them into the corner. Its not that im losing constantly or anything if i just keep my head on.
But some of the people i play against( Alot isnt online play mind you) are pretty good at anti airing and avoiding things. And not being able to get a jump in its hard to get a clean hit in on a crouch blocker with no other reliable overhead.
Which leads to the heavy throw game with most of my character choices, or if im using a grappler ill be lucky to land 1 command grab per round.... which starts to bore the hell outta me seeing the "time over" flash across the screen or the timer running really low and i still have about 60% of my life bar trying to work my way in. It takes the fun outta winning having to always resort to that. The monotony kills it for me, or find another group of people to play with that dont play so damned lame... i cant stand being online for too long either.
Lol, yeah, I know ppl that try to lame it out all the time! That does get boring.
In fairness though... I main Chun Li now, and if I play a good Zangief or T.Hawk I'll play it pretty lame too. :)
But on the flip side. I've been killed by T.Hawk on THREE HITS! So, sometimes that's all you can do is keep them out.
Honda, I rush him down, mix him up to keep him off of his charge.

>:( speaking of chun li shes one of the abuser i have to deal with, taking her sweet *** time to finish a round. I roar in glory when i put that b**** into the pavement like 10-20 secs into the round when i catch my buddies slipping. too bad a few of them quick victories isnt good enough to keep me playing for long before i get agitated. Yea i can understand having to resort to keeping people out but some of them do it with every character in the game no matter who got. I just wanna punch a hole thru someone face after playing that game for a few hours.
I'm still undecided about getting SF 3rd Strike OE. Hmmn, seems someone had a fake laugh.
