Not even gonna bother with CEO! Daigo, Mago, Sako and Air at Revelations is much more interesting. One of them will win SSFIV for sure. That's probably why most of the CA players went to CEO instead...they've been focusing pretty much only on MVC3 so they don't have enough practice to take them on right now. It's a bit of a shame, I'd rather see them all compete in one place. Oh well!

Phoenix needs a nerf. Both Tokido and Daigo uses Phoenix, while Justin refuses to use her because he wants to win with his own skills.
The whole match was just whoever got the first grab to kill the other's Wolverine... but the difference was that Tokido had Phoenix.

I don't think Phoenix was the difference in the match. It was Wolverine. Whoever killed the other player's Wolverine won the match: Tokido only needed Dark Phoenix to win one or two times. The rest of the time it was Wolverine blowing up the whole team.

Correction, Justin is VERY familiar with Tron and Ammy. If you followed form the beginning, Tron and Ammy were parts of one of his main teams. Justin had plenty of chances and gambled the last 3 matches to try to beat Tokido to the first throw. That's what made the difference, not Phoenix.
Dark Phoenix only came out twice in the entire grand finals and Tokido didn't even meter whore like normal Phoenix players. As much as I'm a fan, Justin got beat fair and square.

Anyone who's been following MvC3 for the past few months can tell that Justin Wong is not that good with Ammy and Tron. Or rather, his skill with those two characters have been steadily declining for a while (that's probably because he tries to play too many different chars).

Mike Ross and Gootecks don't play as serious online, plus there is lag and they talk to each other while playing. You can see this from the lastest excellent adventures where at first the get bodied by the Blanka and then the just destroy him when they become serious. Also you never see Mike Ross that good when he plays online and it's because of the atmosphere and the importance of the match and his not talking. You wouldn't play 100% serious in all your online matches, that's just absurd.

Gootechs isnt as good as he used to be, recently i've been totally going off Gootechs and a lot of other American players, Mike Ross is the only guy i'm really watching these days.
I'm happy the Japs came over and took gold in the big competitions and I hope they do the same at EVO.
Alot of people seem think the world owes them in the fighting game community, always going on about whos done a lot for the community etc... Its like really? Have you? Are you the reason i play SF? No, I play SF because I played it when i was a kid.
Even the commentators on the streams are starting to piss me off, over usage of the word "Salty" and constant complaining about players not doing things or players being cheap... It's clear Jwong knows more about the game (about Wolverine at least) and it's painful to see him lose this, but it was not totally undeserved. Tokido played great in general, not relying on *trollface* XF3 Phoenix. It was amazing to see how one throw at the start of the round decides the whole freaking match.

Stop making excuses like Justin has a job and stuff. So does all the other Japanese players. Justin IMO is still the best MVC3 Player out there but, everyone loses especially in Marvel. Tokido was just the better player on that day. They shouldn't nerf phoenix, they should nerf Wolverine. One touch ex factor taking out 1 character and a chance to take out two. Atleast you still have to build up 5 bars for Phoenix to do that and there's still a life drain on Phoenix. For people saying that Phoenix winning more matches against Justin than Wolverine are wrong. Wolverine is starting first not on the end so I don't even know how you could complain about that.

Phoenix changes players mindsets and thoughts that's what Phoenix does, Phoenix itself isn't even that broken. This is the first tournament a Phoenix won, she's been around since the beginning of the game. Combofiend, Justin beat great Phoenix players like Viscant before, its not her.
And to the people saying Justin switched his team to characters he never played is BS, cause WITHOUT Tron he would have never gotten a round on Tokido, so it actually helped him. If you noticed the begin matches, Tokido kept getting hit by Tron (He seemed very inexperienced against Tron assist)
Wolverine + Akuma is as cheap or cheaper than Phoenix. (Phoenix requires some risk/has low HP/Snap her in LVL 1 XFACTOR Chip her) It was basically which Wolverine hit first. It was either a perfect From justin, or a perfect from Murderface. Great tournament, great experience.

"Jap" is a slur. It stems from WW2. However, many other countries do not see it as a Slur, and use it in stores and other places to indicate Japanese imports.
I.E Japanese Rice behind the counter would be Jap Rice.
But with all of the crap from back in the day, it's better if US people don't use "Jap". Use Jpn instead.

All of you are overestimating phoenix. Phoenix is a character that makes you avoid usin meter and can be killed with only one combo for any character in the game, if nevertheless you manages to bring dark phoenix YOU deserve the credit, not the character.
About the x-factor, that was the way that capcom found to allow more comebacks in the game, if you watched the money match between neo and clockwork in MVC2 you may have noticed that most matches were decided early on and the rest was, with rare exceptions, to postpone the inevitable defeat (for one side). With x-factor you can, in many cases, compensate one mistake.
Congrats tokido, great performance...why are so many people defending j wong on this..its comical. At the end of the day , in pro gaming, you do whatever it takes to win ( that doesnt involve being disrespectful) within the game and you take home the prize. This should be a wake up call to the top players in the us to come off their high horses and get in that lab if they want to defeat the japanese players, who are all very intelligent and creative players aswell as being fundamentally rock solid. USA got bodied at AE this weekend and thats no surprise, but i was surprised to see tokido take mvc3. The top dawgs need to sharpen their skills for evo, otherwise the beast and his friends are gonna clean up again
