IGN is one of the first major media outlets to post a review of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. They recap a lot of what people on the site already have long since known, but they give the game a respectable 8/10 score, citing that it's not a must buy for the average player, but for hardcore gamers it's a great addition.There are a few presentational improvements in this version, mostly related to the online Replay Channel. The Arcade Edition lets you check out the replays of elite players and integrates a Twitter-like follow function that lets you more easily add their replays to your channel. Capcom also considered that adding in the Arcade Edition might fracture the online player base, and so lets you filter to search for Arcade, vanilla Super Street Fighter IV or both when looking for a match against others. It's a nice way of ensuring that purchasing Arcade Edition doesn't lock you out of the entire Super Street Fighter IV community.

Getting it as both DLC (360) and a stand-alone title (PS3).
IGN at it again... It makes me so sad that the once-great 1up.com will soon be affiliated with these clowns.
What's the definition of this one then? Strawberry SF4? Mint? No not mint, that's just rank. Can't wait to get this! From the uk so got 12hrs or so yet :(
lmao ive never heard rocky road before. and even though i like the sense it makes, AE is much easier to write. Rocky Road isnt catching on
yea this score is fair.. since only hardcore gamers will appreciate it.. you know those casuals outnumber us 10 to 1 :(
so no one else then? no new guys other than the four put out..... man thats lame.
oh and I forgot to say. Hey Scorpion, what up *raise hand for a high five*
Why put all of that extra development time into an old game like 3rd Strike. I know it's a good game, but I would have rather them put the extra time and effort into AE.
They could have incorporated some form of GGPO for SSFIV AE, although I know it only really works with 2D fighters per se, but surely they could have done something better than what's currently on offer with SSFIV?!
Also, the direct upload to YouTube. Why the hell didn't they include that in their latest rendition of Street Fighter? Why facilitate that feature for an old game?
I don't know, I'll buy 3rd Strike, but I think the effort put into it would have been better served on SSFIV AE. Maybe they could have even put in a couple more characters.
@18: Wait a sec. I came up with something like this.
Vanilla = SFIV
Chocolate = SSFIV
Chocolate with Sprinkles = SSFIV AE
The old cynic that I am I was still secretly hoping there were going to be a couple of surprise additions, I feel a slight tug of sadness.
Yun & Yang are great to have but why so over-powered out the bag? Oni and ERyu are fine if you felt there needed to be more shotos online, it really would have been good to get a bit more variety to entice more players in.
How about calling AE "Rainbow Sprinkles"? As a kid you're like "wow, it's so colorful!" But then you realize "hey, I could be getting something more worthwhile..."
hardcore gamers unite.....ok
