god dammit i missed the question whe he brought up the break dancing vegeta lol
@4
Not a lot of comments because it's nothing special.
People would care for gameplay or tutorials instead.
What do people think of these videos? I like them personally, ReNiC is a good player, his advice is helpful IMO. But my opinion aside, is this something people want to keep seeing on the front page? Not interested? Something else entirely?
The feedback I've seen so far has been mostly good, but if this is something people don't want to see on the front page, I'd like to know. As always, your feedback shapes the website.
@Catalyst
I don't mind the videos popping on the front page, I actually enjoy them and any technical 3s material is newsworthy imho, plus as you said : the answers here are definitely helpful if you're looking to brush up on your skills heading into the title's re-release.
I didn't know this guy before, but I like what he's doing, the haters are just jealous that they're not on the front page I guess.
@Catalyst
I've said this before and I'll say it again, C-Royd's 3s tutorials are really great but never get it's own article even though it would be more useful for new players because they actually see footage of what they want to see happening. I'm not a fan of Renic's series because it's just him talking into a webcam while C-Royd actually shows off what he's teaching.
the vid was good, but without visuals it becomes hard for new players to understand his advice.
As a Q player, his Q advice was on point but it missed a few things...
1. Learn Command-Grab EX/non-EX combos.
2. Don't forget that you also have a low and an overhead dash punch.
3. Use Ex-Slaps to catch players before they jump back and to annoy the f*ck out of them
Lol @ people thinking ReNiC is a random.
Do some hw folks. ;P
Gootecks and Mike Ross have already stated that content needs to get out for 3rd Strike if it's to do well.
This guy is giving practical advice and he obviously knows what he's talking about. I'd rather it stay on the frontpage, instead of taking it down because of skill-less players who refuse to learn something different or put real time in.
Visual tutorials would be nice, but he should also be able to format his videos in the way he chooses. I myself might want to get into 3rd Strike, please keep putting these videos up.
It's either for a few people around here to whine about everything, but that's always how it is. A few people contributing something, and a long line of people complaining instead of helping.
@Catalyst.
I love Renic's tutorials but I can see why it wouldn't be everybody's thing. However, I think your inquiry corresponds to something a little deeper, as you say, which is, "What is front page worthy?"
To that I say, Renic's videos are perfect because they are timely. They are done well but maybe in Vanilla SFIV days it wouldn't make the front. But with 3SO on the horizon these videos are perfect. Somebody mentioned C-Royd and maybe that's worth the front page too.
Basically, look at Kotaku. When something timely is upcoming, the stories reflect that. Maybe with upcoming game releases it's cool to psyche people up with as much information as you can find that is of high quality. And then, when SFXT is coming out, find more videos and stories that reflect peoples wants for SFXT. Basically, cater the front page to the taste of the time.
Renic's videos fit the 3SO window, especially since I predict that game to come out in the next two months anyway.
If you dont know who renic is you for sure came in around SF4..... kids man.... he is one of the legends in 3S
I'm being lazy,, haven't read the comments, but WTF does Q's taunt do??????????
Might have missed it in the vid. All i got was that it's good to do when your opponent is on the run.
IIRC he was an alex main, think ive had a few alex mirrors with him on ggpo like a year or so ago. Hes a legit player but think alex hinders him in the long run.
@#27
Q taunt increases his defense permanently for the rest of the round. Basically the value is 1200 default/1 taunt 1400/2 taunts 1700/ 3taunts 2000. Numbers maybe off a bit but thats the idea of his taunt.
Hugo works similar but his max health is almost 1900 after 4 taunts.
Who is this guy?
