This is a really cool idea, although I feel that it's quite cumbersome to do it live. Doing it live may present opportunities for audience participation, but there's a lot of awkward pauses and the pacing of the analysis is weird, going back and forth between English and Japanese.
This would be better if the players themselves were to do it themselves, maybe even those who played the match, so you'd get an even more in-depth look. I feel like if these were done beforehand and edited so it flows more smoothly, they'd definitely be a big hit.
Props to them though, it was a really interesting bit.
He's great but they worship him a bit too much. He claim that he can read his opponent after 10 sec. Most ppl can do it. It's called match-up knowledge . I know what guile can do before the match even start and which option he got.
It's a mix of MU knowledge reflex and also game trick . Like buffering. Daigo practically mastered his character and most matchup . Than you have mind game . It's a mix of thing that created the beast .
yeah it's kinda boring, but the scene is still growing. Once they get used to doing stuff like this, it'll get better and better.
The problem with this analysis is that there's no way we can be sure that it's anything other than Monday morning quarterbacking. Does he really remember exactly what he was thinking for every second of this match or is he doing what we all do when we analyze a match, i.e. applying his knowledge of the game to what he saw happening on the screen. It seems like he was trying to rationally explain his own instinct, which is admittedly interesting since it gives us a glimpse into his knowledge of SF4. It's just not an hour's worth of interesting. They should have played a bunch of matches and gotten his synopsis on each one.
I'm really happy that EVO is willing to do this. It's so radical and interesting. I hope it helps the new players out there learn and get better and hopefully more will get into SF4!
GAME SPOT CAN'T EXPOSED NO ONE , THEY BE GARBAGE
