Lmao at the nemesis at the end. I have to say im also dissapointd with some of the char choices in umvc3. On marvels side. I still didnt get why raccoon is even in or nova! Even worse are the people who say "we've already got Zero/tron, dont be greedy" or something to that effect. We've got 4 street fighters. what if Ryu was missing? We've got 3 reps from Devil may cry. And you know i find it weird how capcom claims things a certain way but change. They claimed marvel didnt want sentinel in the game,but he was. Then they say strider was in the first because there were no rights but hey they now got them? Couldnt they have gotten the rights prior to the game development? Capcom knew theyd would make umvc3 before it explains why mvc3 was rushed thats why there were so many glitches and patches and stuff. Strider is an early reveal to let you kno they had him for a lil while and they know a sh!t load of fans like and will buy the game for strider and now ppl are sold. Its a dirty trick to no end!!! Still gonna buy it tho.

I don`t know much about Marvel, so can`t comment on their additions, but I am more than happy with Capcom`s additions to the roster.
Why is everyone so bothered about MegaMan anyway? I would bet that most people who cry about MegaMan not being in the game would not even use him in their main team anyway.

I really laughed at the "Where-the-hell-is-Megaman-meter". :D I don't really care for Megaman really cause I never played even one game with him but still I would prefer him over Frank West. But I'm not gonna bitch about anything because:
1. I cared only for Vergil and he got in. (well I veoted for Nemesis and Phoenix Wright too but they really didn't matter half as much to me)
2. If Vergil wouldn't make it in than no biggie as probably there would be some other character which would surprise me, just how much I like it. (it could be even the racoon for all I know. :D)
I think he's coming. Personally all this "where is Mega Man?" Stuff is going to actually pay off huge for Capcom in the end. For years the series was taking a critical lashing because it was game after game with little change to the formula.. all of a sudden the blue bomber leaves and the gamers freak?
You watch, a slew of Mega Man stuff will be announced one of these days and he will return a critical AND commercial darling. I mean what better way is there to bring something back than "by popular demand" I also don't see why a company would willingly put themselves through such a PR nightmare. Going to a fan-centric event like SDCC with a build of a fighting game that has most of the stuff its prior version was supposed to have without the one character fans and the media have been most vocal about? Something's up, and I for one am just going to be patient and watch the show.
The we have less health meter now or more damaging combos. X-factor damage got nerfed. That means it will be just about the same right? We already discovered 100% combos as is. Now with less health I guess it wont be as impressive to pull off.

I find kind of ironic that people asked for Jill for MVC3 and we get RE5 Jill instead. Personally, I don't like the new Jill I prefer MVC2 Jill. I just thought "Oh well nothing can be done, they are going for the latest version of the character, same concept as the Marvel side" but then for UMVC we get Nemesis from RE3 WTF?.
Either way I don't mind Nemesis, it'll be very cool to see what Capcom comes up with. What I really, really hate is Phoenix Wright, Frank West and the stupid Raccoon. This will be the team to practice against when the game arrives.

Not everything has to be tied to movies for Marvel. Both Nova and Raccoon are tied to pretty popular series that revolve around cosmic matters. They also both offer up some interesting gameplay options, whereas a guy like Black Panther offers absolutely nothing new to the game that Wolverine and X-23 don't already offer... I mean, seriously, another guy with claws?

Rocket Raccoon is a very popular on the Marvel side of things. He's basically in the position Deadpool was in about 10 years ago, where Marvel had a goofy character that a group of comic readers really loved, but wasn't known to the public. His inclusion is an attempt to spread his fame and give them a new money maker character.
Nova's inclusion I have no idea about though. He has a fanbase, but they're small. He's a lame character who Marvel has been trying to popularize on and off for years with no luck (He's got Ms. Marvel syndrome). I wish they would get the point already. Him and Virgil are the only disappointments to me, but 10 out of 12 isn't bad!

It's cool Mega Man can steal people moves but what good is he if he has no normals? That's what MM fans are failing to see yeah he can make leaf shield, tornados, Magnetic shockwaves, Charge up a hand blast or turn into a hulking big ass robot & blow people away but what about his punch & kick combos? Go back to MvC & MvC2 then look at his combo ability followed by everybody else in those games I mean my god his sister is a better fighter than he is plus she got better in TvC.

lol I find amusing that some people say that we should not complain about megaman when it was with complains that we got SF4 AND MVC3. If you don't want to complain is maybe because your favorite character is already in the game and that’s fine, but just don’t pretend to shut up all the other people or all the media that got freaked out after this decision. A kind of weird decision of capcom so far and I´m pretty sure that is not a technical/gameplay issue but a BUSINESS decision, and those ones are usually the most difficult to understand because people of business departments of almost any company never tell you the truth or they try to disguise it, I know that by experience.
Capcom say that mm is not dead, but words from them don’t have credibility anymore. I can only wait to see what is going to happen but for now it means no umvc3 for me or maybe that I’ll get it used at best, after all I’m still pretty happy with blazblue cs2; and by the way their balance fixes, gameplay changes and netcode upgrades where all a FREE DLC.

What you mean have no normals? he had basic normals like most others, and more than half the cast basically just dialed up magic series for combos outside using assists. His regular punch and kick combos are like everyone elses. Its how the special moves and assist are incorporated into the combos that give it variety. And about his sister she had nothing to go off from so she got the treatment of being revamped from the ground up instead of attempting to go off source material like they did with megaman. His combo ability was about average compared to the rest of the cast.
There was alot of characters in the both mvc1 and mvc2 that couldnt even do half of a magic series on the ground before having to use a special/super or immediately launch. Why you gotta single out mega man about his punch and kicks??? Sounds like you hate him alot. Did you even research yourself before spitting that out?
Plus with the control system in play for the mvc3 series its a perfect time for mega man to be in and be redeemed. Capcom got alot of material sources they could pull from to come up with a movelist instead of the simplistic ones they did the other times. Or better yet allow him to copy one of his opponent moves(like rogue in xvsf).
They have alot of freedom to do something with any iteration of him, could easily pull moves from favorite bosses. He could turn up like a mix of arthur/modok/zero. MODOK having unconventional normals, zeros height and movement, arthur with the heavy variety artillery.
To everyone complaining about no Megaman:
Go play some TvC. Pick up Megaman. Sit there and realize how awful, boring and generic his moveset is. HE SHOOTS THINGS. Who else does that in Marvel? EVERYBODY. Yes, maybe he shoots things in new and exciting ways! But it's still going to be obnoxiously redundant, and if MvC2 and TvC are any indication, everyone is complaining about him not being in the game because it makes them more hardcore, or they need something to complain about, but nobody is going to seriously play him because he's A. Generic and B. Awful. Frankly I applaud Capcom for going outside the box to introduce characters who have some variety in their fighting styles. Unfortunately, he'll probably still be DLC, and everyone will buy it, and nobody will be vocal about how disappointed they are that we're stuck with another useless iteration of Megaman because that would be considered some form of idiot fanboy blasphemy.
To everybody complaining about Vergil:
Go pick up DMC3. He's ranks up there as one of the best boss fights in video games to date, and provides a nice alternative to Dante.

Chill out dude, your post is no better. As this video discusses about the exclusion of Megaman, it's OK to bring Megaman up. Plus, people are allowed to post whatever they want, it's how they feel. Anyways, I think the reason for Megaman not being in the game goes beyond what they are willing to share. And it's probably related to the cancellation of MML3 and MM Universe. But my question is, why put in Zero and Tron if they wanted to put the series in the back burner? And why also exclude the main character? That's like putting in Ken Masters and excluding Ryu. Or putting in Trish and Vergil but not Dante.
A racoon with guns. I don't see how that's a bad thing. And nova is in it too it's the closest thing to cosmic characters from the marvel universe I'm gonna get in this game I'm not complaing. However I would love to have seen thanos and silver surfer.

I do enjoy the list but I do feel that the list is lacking Mega Man rep. But to be honest I would much rather have Bass w/ Treble over any Mega Man. Like think about this for a moment.
- He would have flight ability (he has WINGS!!!!)
- His buster at full charge will shoot two blast like Deejay's EX Air Slash
- He'll have air dives like Firebrand
- He would have a Double Sphere Flame as a super that can also be used in the air
- He would air super with his trail laser (kind of like mystic ray if it acted more like Magnetic Shock Wave)
- He can have a shoot in the air move like Taskmaster's arrows or Dante's acid rain

Another reason Raccoon is in the game. Marvel is really trying to push the cosmic-related characters right now, which I don't mind, since I have been a huge fan of those stories since Adam Warlock and then the Infinity Gauntlet.

If Capcom never made a billion and one MegaMan games that made everyone go, "Meh, another one? I'll pass" then maybe MegaMan wouldn't have been so overexposed.
When people see a large number after a title: "MegaMan 9" "MegaMan Battle Network 5" "MegaMan X8", they more than likely go "Damn, I won't be able to play these because I haven't played the rest of them"
More than likely, if MegaMan games were given alot of time and dedication like SF and RE games do (Thus, why they are selling so well), then maybe the MegaMan franchise would have turned out differently. Also, Frank may have the "real" Mega buster, but classic MegaMan has the REAL Mega Buster and X has the Mega Buster Mark.17. Frank is outclassed in terms of Mega Buster authenticity. lol

Where the hell is Mega-Man? In the game after UMVC3 knowing how Capcom works. Probably another disc release shortly after UMVC3 called Super Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 or something of those lines. Enough though I'm being sarcastic it would not surprise me one bit to see another disc release. Let's hope the DLC rumor list is true with Mega-Man and Venom and two other unknowns.

Sure, MegaMan games were on the shelves for a long time, but everyone and their mother knows about Resident Evil (if you don't play the games, you watch the horrible Hollywood movies) and everyone knows Street Fighter because "it's that one game with the guy in white" they've seen in arcades so long ago, and he's on the cover of everything Capcom related as of late.

I don't get people saying Volnutt was a bad/boring character in TVC. On the contrary, his weapon switch made him the most technical character in the game, and if you bothered to learn him completely he could hold his own against pretty much the entire cast.

In all fairness, Ryu wasn't that great in MvC1/2, but with his new moves and tweaking of the bad areas, he became a really good character. The same can be said for Viewtiful Joe, the same can be said about ANY character.
MegaMan was a great, fun character to use, just not competitively. TvC MegaMan was one of THE most technical fighters to use, so it's no wonder why he wasn't picked as often, but the ones who took the time to learn his best combos saw that he's freaking beast.
If they were to implement a MegaMan, with dozens of games to choose from, they can make him the best iteration of MegaMan in a fighting game thus far. Period.
Look at Morrigan. She had the same sprite since the first Darkstalkers used in MvC1/2 and CvS1/2, but once TvC came out, she was SO improved than any iteration since then, and her MvC3 iteration is her best, and she'll be even BETTER in UMvC3 with her new meter-drain Soul Fist and damage buffs.
Do you know why? They're taking their time improving characters. If a MegaMan was in this game, he would rape up a storm as the best iteration of MegaMan like how Ryu and Morrigan have evolved.

Actually, your reason is "dumb." You gave no actual response to me telling me what new gameplay would a character like Black Panther bring to the game that isn't already in it? He has no abilities outside of being fast, strong and having claws made out of vibrainium.
You say you can create a new move-set. No they can't, they can only go off of stuff the guy does in the comics, but that isn't the point. The point is that Capcom has stated that they want a diverse set of abilities and ones that offer interesting gameplay elements. Even if a character is popular, Black Panther is fringe popular BTW, he might be boring in a fighting game. Black Panther is boring, sorry.
Also, you mentioned Ryu & Akuma as being similar... you are right, but they are very different because Akuma has a LOT of different powers.... Black Panther has NO interesting powers and it would be extremely difficult to differentiate him from the other melee guys.
Also, you shouldn't criticize a character choice until you have seen them in action. You have probably never even read a comic book with Rocket Raccoon in it, or maybe have never read a comic book, so you are no position to judge whether he is a good character or not. Most people probably have never played a game with Strider in it, but they salivate over him being in the game. It's all about gameplay and how fun the character is to use. I want a diverse cast, not a bunch of boring usual suspects.
Anyway, that is fine that you don't like Rocket's inclusion. A lot of comic fans do. He is a popular character for those who read comics related to Marvel Multiverse because he is funny and badass. I think Marvel, who allowed him to be in the game and wanted him there, is a better judge of which characters are currently popular in their comics than you. Sorry to burst your bubble.

That's why Black Panther isn't in, he's way more known than Racket Raccoon and a lot of other characters added. Marvel uses their slots to raise awareness on characters, something that Black Panther doesn't need. He's not important enough to need a spot like Cap or Wolverine, he doesn't have a VS series history like Storm or Sentinel, and he's not unknown enough for Marvel to put him in just to raise his awareness. And Capcom knows enough to not put in a token black guy just because they need a token black guy.

You stated that black Panther is "boring" but the same thing can be said about Wesker, She-Hulk, Hulk, Jill, Haggar, and Phoenix Wright. All wesker does is shoot with his hand gun and punch and kick. All Hulk does is throw rocks. All She-Hulk does is punch and kick. All Jill does is shoot people and kick. All Haggar does is use his pipe. All Phoenix Wright does is...nothing; he has no moves. They all don't shoot lasers out there eyes or conjure elements; should they all be removed from the game? I think that Black Panther and Megaman are two great additions to MvC3. Here is why:
Megaman:
- Able to steal moves and attributes from opponents. This is Megaman's primary way of attaining new abilities. Very powerful ability that can make a unique move-set.
- Numerous armors to choose from. Each with unique attributes and properties. Can boost defense, offense or meter gaining capability.
- Chargeable projectiles. Similar to Zero.
- Wall cling/slide.
- Numerous items/weapons to choose from. Let's assume it's Classic Megaman. He can use the support of both Rush and Roll. He can transport or launch items/weapons such as bombs, elements, and status-afflicting weapons. And that's only focusing on a few of Classic Megaman's weapon potential. There's still X, EXE, Legends, etc.
- Air/Ground dash. Similar to Zero.
- Weapon Change ability. Allows Megaman to have tons of specials and different weapons at his disposal. Similar to Amateratsu, Megaman has the ability to switch into anything for any situation.
Black Panther:
- Extremely fast.
- Physically very strong.
- His suit is made of Vibranium and it has the properties of reflecting bullets/projectiles.

- His most powerful skill is his melee abilities. He is an expert in Gymnastics, Hunting, Acrobatics, etc...
@8 Megaman would be cool but he might come out as dlc if the game sells good. Ryu/Akuma Dante/Vergil and Zero/Tron.

This is what im talking about. You cant throw off someone and call them garbage over what you want because its all mere opinion.Whoever made it,made it. Those who dont, its okay and maybe they'll come for DLC.
Same thing goes for Megaman, we shouldnt throw off the others because he didnt make it.
Also, why the hate for Rocket Racoon? He's an old classic fan favorite and yet you insult him and his return for your own needs. As for Phoenix Wright, its called CREATIVITY, it will be interesting and exciting to see what he'll do coming from his series which isnt fighting.
I rather perfer old classics and creative people than the obvious overrated ones,but thats my opinion and by no means am i calling the others garbage.

I can understand that Marvel want to be an *** with the Marvel roster selection but Capcom do not have any excuses on their part.
Megaman X was the second must requested character from the polls and they choose to ignore it. They cancel Mega Man Universe then Inafune left the company then Mega Man Legends 3 is canceled and finally Mega Man X is rejected from UMvC3. They swear to God that they still have the Mega Man rights and that they still care about Mega Man but the facts show the opposite.
On the Marvel side we just have no hope anymore. The only requested characters that are in are Dr. Strange and Ghost Rider but the "all time favorites" were completely ignored.
The game needed Capcom bad guys so I'm glad to see at least Nemesis, Vergil, Firebrand. Phoenix Wright and Frank West are "cool" additions but hopefully they are not going to be useless characters or joke characters.
Finally I just hope for DLC for this game and the inclusion of Mega Man X, Captain Commando, Jin Saotome, Gene and Sigma...
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is going to have good sales but probably not as good as the first because of the lack of requested characters :S.

Frank west was pretty awesome in TvC and i dont see that changing, and as for Phoenix, its interesting to see what Capcom will give him as moves that will come from his series, I dont see him being a joke considering Ono wanted to experiment with him
@88 i understand...but to be honest no one cares for him. Maybe a small community but majority dont want him in. He is not important at all. And wonder why no one has heard of him is because his series only went 4 issues!! He is better off in the dusty pile of comics in the corner
I like these videos but I find hilarious that even max is complaining about mega man! It reminds me of eveyone whining about poison and Hugo in the 4 series and now there in sf x tekken. Maybe mega man will be a hidden character in those games along with pacman lol
