The Cross Counter team is back with a new episode. Today, Gootecks and Mike Ross discuss EVO 2011, making predictions and general conversation. They also cover the Super Battle Opera (Tougeki) qualifiers and the viewer Q&A session returns.

Yeah I def. don't think Poongko can win, but he's DEFINITELY making top 8. The dude is on an absolute tear and no offense to Online Tony, but comparing him to Poongko is like comparing a McDonalds quarter pounder to a nice T-bone steak.

Are they crazy? shiro, momochi poongko,rf,kindevu not in top 8 . Its seems to me impossible.momochi will be top 4 guaranteed.

@3 a lot of the reason poongko tore through the competition was due to the fact that a lot of people did not have Seth experience. A LOT of the same set ups and gimmicks that Poongo performed seemed completely new to the players there. For example teching the knockdown after seths lightning legs kick. A ton of people in america know what do after that having seen high level seth yet many people were thrown off at shadloo showdown. Of course Poongko is amazing will do very well at evo but that is the reason that statement was made. It was not made to say online tony and poongko are on the same level.

@4, I don't think Momochi is confirmed. He is sponsored by EG, but I don't know if he's coming to EVO yet. If he is, he's guaranteed top 8 for sure. I also think this video was made way before RF and Kindevu were announced.

Didn't Kindevu comment about how he thinks that he would've done better than Momochi against Poongko Seth? At Shadow Showdown, Momochi eliminated Kindevu but then got mauled by Poongko.

I don't know how to read or speak Japanese so I cannot say anything for certainty; but someone has claimed that Kindevu says that Momochi looked like he was "Green" when it came to fighting Seth with Yun at Shadowloo Showdown.

Kindevu played Seth in AE and he says that Momochi seemed to be clueless towards even some of Seth's basic gimmicks when agaisnt poongko.

not in top 8 is crazy. probably not all of them in top 8, but some of them has to be in top 8 unless evo them all in one side of the brackets, so they can beat eachothers.

They are unranked as far as EVO seed points go. They might eliminate each other since they are not guaranteed seed points to avoid other strong players. Other than that, fair game.

@ 8 People are going to say its excuses, and they're right, Momochi should know the MUs but I know Gamerbee had said the same thing about Momochi being totally clueless against his Adon last year. So yeah Kindevu prolly woulda done better considering Kindevu definitely has experience with Seth.

Actually I was reading the Evolution rules earlier and came across this:

Apparently brackets will be split up by region (to the best of their ability) - this means all the Japanese/International players are less likely to run into each other in pools.

The problem with Mike Ross is that he complains about the haters who say "He is free" etc...but he continues to say "i'm getting bodied" or "I'm going 2 and out" before every tournament! What a fool!
