Rafael2487 noticed that Maximilian put up a new clip taking a closer look at the fighters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This is the second entry in his video series, and it recaps some of the gameplay and feature details posted here on the site, but Max also mixes in some interesting new gameplay tidbits and other opinions too, which are pretty cool.

I'd say a lot of people were thinking the same thing that Maximillian was thinking when they first saw that Hawkeye was added in; just a Taskmaster clone...but then we saw all the different arrow shots with status effects and all that, and were impressed. :P

Did he say he didn't recognize Hawkeye because he grew up in the 90's with Jim Lee's X-Men and was hip to current trends? Does that mean Max thinks Hawkeye is a new comic book character? A bit confused on that one.

Yeah, that and the fact that Firebrand is the star of three platformers, and was never actually a boss in a Ghost 'n Goblins game.

firebrand doesn't look that powerful. He might have a dive kick, but he doesn't have a herp a derp relauch BND combo. a quick left/right mixup. instant overhead to combos.
firebrand is more like trish than wolverine really

@9 yeah but it's not really that damaging. wolvie's herp-a-derp BNB does like 800k damage with 1 meter

Firebrand herp a derp combo damage is TBD, Not to mention his running grab drags them more towards a corner which is a good thing. He looks to do solid damage and wolvy got toned down a bit which is to be evaluated.

I know a lot of you only know marvel from movies and the 90s cartoons but hawkeye is not a recent creation, he been around for over 2 decades.

no actually 1,2,3 launch, 2,2,3, drill -> dive kick, relaunch 2,2,3 drill -> fatal claw does like 640.000... the other one where you use akuma assist for example is a little more but not 800.000
anyways doesn't matter i think firebrand has some BIG potential...he has fly, air dash, that swoop move in the air, fast command grab you cna combo into...i think it's the one where he takes you across the screen and then combos after, good projectile, that fast dash move etc. etc.
so yeah i think he might be a threat

@15 I can only think of Human Torch other than that I think that's all the characters who's heads are on fire but, I think I remember a character with blue flames around his head not sure.

*face palms hard at Max's lack of knowledge of Hawkeye* he's been apart of the avengers SINCE THE MID 60's he appeared to die in the mid 90s!

I guess no one played the arcade game captain america and the avengers with hawk-eye in it. There were even avengers cartoons in the 90"s with hawk-eye. I grew up in the 80-90 and hawk-eye was one of my favorites. I can understand if your not all that into comics, but don't use i grew up in the 90's argument.

Actually it does relaunch, it depends on what sort of hit starts the combo.

Yeah, I love Max's work and all.. but Hawkeye's been around at least half a century. I mean, IIRC he's a core member of the Avengers. And definitely recognizable in the 90's.

I remember him, at least.

Don't go hatin' on Hawkeye! (I know he wasn't really hating on him) :p

In any case, informative vid, nice to have all the info wrapped up so nicely. Good stuff, can't wait for the next one.

Take it easy guys, just because Max doesn't know the full history of a fictional comic book character doesn't mean he's lame or anything. Some enjoyed reading comics a lot more then others.

All I can say is that Hawkeye is a legendary comic book character created by the master himself, Stan Lee. He was apart of the original Avengers squad as well as the New Avengers and the West Coast Avengers, amongst other group affiliations. Bottom line is Hawkeye is a staple in Marvel lore. When you think of Avengers you think of classics like Iron Man, Thor, Incredible Hulk and Captain America along with a few others.

Marvel is making sure that Hawkeye is synonymous with these names, hence him being put in this game and also being put in the upcoming Avengers movie. If you saw Thor then you got to see a brief glimpse of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

the thing he didn't even look up basic info.. but obviously had time to get that screen cap of X-men 1's cover, showing he had the opportunity to research and he sure as hell has the time to do so if he's making 3 videos and one specifically about his personally requested character.
also he wasn't apart of the original avengers he was actually part of the second version of the Avengers.

It's not that max doesn't know the full history just that he doesn't know even that hawkeye is as classic as he is

this equals out to something more annoying then X-23 having tattoos (Due to their healing factor Tattoos, which are basically just colored scar tissue, same with piercings, and other forms of body modifcation) which I wouldn't expect him to know
