game is crap. No ground tech ruined the gameplay. being able to ground tech would force your opponent to either go for the OTG and miss/ bait you into ground teching and mix you up on your way up. whats shown in this video, and so many others, is just dumb.
OMG THIS GAME IS BROKEN!!!!
Nah. Forget those knee jerk reaction guys (I don't think they even play this game). Combos like this are awesome, but landing them under pressure is extremely rare. Even at the highest level of gameplay you rarely see 100% combos on high health characters unless X Factor is involved.

Yeah, ground teching would add some much needed variety to how the game is played. Every single character has the same MMHS air combo which produces a hard knockdown. Should've kept it like the past Marvels where only certain characters have knockdowns and you could still roll out but could be making a risk at the same time.
Oh well.
Thank you dugthefreshest! I thought I was only one that actually noticed that tech-roll wasn't in. People are so infatuated by what they see in this game but forget what this game lacks to make it more than a great game. I can eat a bowl of cereal through the amount of time I lay on the ground after being comboed it just sickens me but I deal with it because I have no choice. Tech-roll would of prevented that whole combo from happening and adding tech-roll would force people to play more technical and actually think before attacking.
None-the-less great combo as I link 2 arrow supers in when I have the opportunity to.
Screw UMVC3, as shown here there are still a million things to be discovered in the original 70% done version of the game, and they are already rebalancing/removing stuff (prob 2 years later you'll stil; find crazy new setups and things).
But this is pretty cool stuff, and that relaunch combo is pretty hard to do actually lol. Not to mention almost every chars got 100% combos now lol
Wow, impressive combo.
People may complain about using three level 1 hypers in succession, but using all three only applies to a handful of the staff.....
yeah yeah im in for a world of hurt i get it
sweet vid

Except for the fact that, in the other MvC games, characters could actually OTG with anything, they had infinites, and most characters in this game can't do most of their damage if they couldn't relaunch.
Is Taskmaster considered top-tier in this game? I started picking him from day one, but only saw him used once in the 25-odd fights I had online. I stopped playing it online in March though, and altogether on April 7th. I hate picking top tiers, but don't want to drop him as I loved him right away... :'(
Taskmaster isn't top-tier, he's good, but he's not god tier or anything. But if you've been using a character from day one, there shouldn't be a reason to drop him just because he's god tier.
@duckmouth
he's not top tier but he's imo he's pretty high for the fact that he's got plenty options and all of them are relatively easy to do. Compare Task to someone like viper or spiderman or even felicia and you realize why so many people are comfortable playing him both in execution and team compatibility (he is a task master after all!)
This combo isn't exactly easy but I'm sure it won't be out of the ordinary to see this or similar combos being performed in tournaments soon by some of the more skilled task players.
I've been using Task since day one and I assure you he's not top tier, When the first "Tier list" (Which wasn't accurate but wtv) came out he was B. He's got lots of health and damaging combos but isn't particularly fast. Look at it this way, chun has like 3 infinites and she's not High tier or even used much in game (Maybe once every 12 games I see her?), just because task can do this doesn't make him "broken" as I'm sure some people will say. Also remember this is not a beginners combo (as butterknife said) and it sucks up 3 bars. There are characters far more advantaged than task like Sent, wolverine and Dante.
i use deadpool, dante, and zeromost often... and i know that taskmaster is a real BEAST, regardless of what teirs say. not because of this combo, but from the simple fact that he can land super attacks like it's no big deal, and his projectile and chip damage game is crazy. top that off with the fact that he EASILY counters and you have a real problem against this guy. esp if they play keep away and/or turtling lol.
the projectiles and chip i was talking about... this 3 arrow shots are crazy. get hit by the 3 of them twice and he's damaged you more than he would with 1 super attack.
the imitation special move attacks he has do chip damage and are not easy to punish.
blocking those arrows does a lot more chip damage than you'd think...
with that said, he's not god-tier but one thing's for certain... he's a mutha-f**kin' problem! lol.
and oh yeah... "you're in for a worlda hurt" LOL
I will probably stick with him. My team was Taskmaster, Dormmamu and Deadpool. I picked them solely because I liked their appearance and style. I just need to fight a 1st Lord online to complete all the achievements for MvC3, then it's going on eBay post-haste to finance the inevitable purchase of UMvC3. I won't be back on Xbox LIVE until August 16th though. Not having my Xbox is crap.
Tasky may not be Wolverine tier, but he's definitely among the best in the game.
He has a lot of health, BnB's are not really complicated and do good damage, good DHC options, good assists, good options from both close and far range and he has some pretty good set ups and traps.
@30 These fancy combos should be a reference in building your own combos. It should not be something you should rely on because it's unlikley you will nail this all the time (especially online). BnB's will always win the day. Just build your team around his combos and you should be fine.
@33 no sir i decline that statement i even play with wolvie and have never lost to one with my task he the best imo he got me all my wins and 108 win streak hahaha
That's the thing with TaskMaster.
Why use Spidey or Captain America or even Hawkeye when Task has their best moves and done easier and better.
Reverse Dragon Punch to do a Web Swing? or Foward and Hard for almost the same effect/speed AND you can do it in the air too!
Mega Chip for arrows. And unlike Spidey and Cap. Taskmaster can OTG by HIMSELF!!! His OTG hyper also does virtually unscaled damage.
Taskmaster EASILY can combo into a hyper off a regular throw in any direction. Can wolverine do that?
That's why I was shocked when I saw Hawkeye. He seems like a waste compared to Taskmaster unless they nerf him to HsienKo level
Glad you guys liked my vid, but it's pretty ancient :). I'm working on something new which I'll likely release this weekend. It's about 15 minutes of combos so it's a fair bit more substantial than this.
As for the combo itself, I've landed it in matches before. Of course I rarely play against Thor players(I do use him though) so I never get a chance to do the whole thing. It's actually not that difficult relative to some of the staple combos in MvC2. The hardest parts is the last relaunch, but it's not necessary against most of the cast.
@jamheald I'll give you that spidey swing is an overhead if tiger knee'd, but Cap's charging star doesn't really compare to Tasky's. Taskmaster's is a normal attack that can be canceled (into launcher no less, so dumb, lol)and made safe on block, leading to really good frame traps. Cap's version, on the other hand, requires him to commit to it 100% since none of his supers are safe at all. Task can also extend the range on shield skills quite a bit by dashing just before doing it. I'm not referring to the distance covered by the dash, but rather, the momentum from the dash is actually transferred to shield skills making it travel much much further.
Oh yeah, no offense but, big gigantic LOL at people saying Task is better than Wolverine.
wolverine made me hate this game. yet i still play it and i make it my business to destroy him with thor lol. every time. almost.
Damn... always knew Task was op.
