For smart asses who didnt know,yes poison is a girl,but america made her a tranny because we cant beat on woman in games.
#5 is Right
Game looks great though. Im so hype. Too bad this is coming out around probably SUmmer - Fall of next year. But atleast it will be(should) a great game. Its about a year early before release and they are pretty far along it seems.
YESSSS STEVE FOX AND POISON!!! <3 Now this game needs for me is Juri. Then I'm good.
yea poison is a girl dont let anyone tell you different just enjoy those pics guys . . .
i hope now EVERYBODY who was crying over poison not being in any game, will MAIN her and i want to see ALOT of poisons online to beat your tranny ass
oh wait you KNOW this won't happen because it's just the same few trolls and weaboos who wanted her...anyways bring on some real women man where asuka and jun at?!
steve fox and yoshimitsu look nice.....sim is there :D
Anybody notice the character behind Dhalsim in the first shot?
Aaahh!!!! :( i wish those pics were bigger.. i want the Poison ones to add to my wallpaper collection.
You guys notice the lifebars? Easy to see and not flashy, which is to say - probably not the final versions yet. Still, vastly improved for visibility.
Also ... the Japanese Semi-truck parking lot level looks damn hype? Agree?
Yah! Cool! Comments. Thanks, MrDrOfficer for the comment.
@#13 This 1000x this. can we get karin and sakura in this game. poison is an odd choice. also i've never been a fan of transvestites so there's that also.
Yay Poison!!! Just need Adon and the twins, and i'll be done :p
@23 HighonPCP you the dumbest f*ck I know bro...nah just kidding ;-)
Gotta agree with ya a bit tho, poison was reaquested by ALOT of people here. I didn't want her in tho cause she takes the place of other great fighters. On the other hand, she fights pretty cool tho, but I still hate her >.>
Nice I guess the all major Final Fight characters have made an appearance. Look at Poison go. Gender female, not post-op transgender as America wanted it, that's lame (Look at the women abuse statistics in USA) Right on #5. hahahahaha.
Come on put up Lili please!!!!
yo Ralenzo....man i'm tellin you it'll be just like i said. UNLESS she's top tier people will try her out and drop her after a week or so. maybe a handful of people will stick to her but it's just like ibuki, makoto and even freakin t.hawk in SSF4 "we want him/her you never put good characters in capcom bla bla" and then not 1 single ibuki makoto or tony hawk online...that changed a little now since mak and hawk had some good buffs in AE but you get my point.
ANYWAYS you people...have fun playing poison if you really like her and wanted her in a game for a long time.
@#43 lol nice one. got alot of eddie murphy types in the fgc that are in for a few surprises if they ever go to japan. :)
People just like to whine about what they don't have. Unless Poison is REALLY good, most will still use easy-mode characters. It's like that in all fighting games. Most people just care about winning, not being unique. =P
It would be sweet if we could get some Hugo+Poison teams going on.
This is going to be a good game but Super Street Fighter x Tekken will be better...
@Everybody saying Poison is a transvestite: http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/P... Read under history and gender controversy. Then shut up please. Although none of you will and I will forever have to see idiotic comments about Poison being a tranny. Sigh. I for one am excited to see her in this game, and I will definitely be playing her no matter what tier she is. Hopefully they add my ssf4 main Juri so I can have a Juri/Poison team <3
Don't worry, Bryan is coming and everyone's getting machfisted.
Yoshinori Ono, when asked in an interview about the matter, stated "Let's set the record straight: in North America, Poison is officially a post-op transsexual. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female."
sounds like a tranny in either country to me. XD
mebbe people just can't accept it because homophobia is much more rampant in america than it is in japan ^^;
@ 56:
"Ono preeeeeeetty much"
Ok following you here...
"confirms"
What?
"Ono" + "confirms"
Does not compute.
@#56 because these are the same forever alone guys who look at sherry and see a supermodel instead of an average looking girl. they will cling on to this fantasy of poison being a guy because they want to be able to keep fapping without guilt.
Basic lame street fighter 2 characters no 3s or alpha love...tekken side looks good though
@53: Idiot, Poison wasn't even IN the American version of Final Fight. They replaced her with some dude called Sid. America didn't like beating womenz at the time, but neither did they like trannies in their gamez. So they had a dude called Sid. But in Japan, Poison was always a tranny.
@ 68 - and I am glad they did. Actually I like that most of the Tekken characters thus far are in their "original" attire, at least for now.
Which makes me really curious what they'll have for alternate costumes or colors.
Maybe with some luck it'll have the customization that recent Tekken games have had? :-o
(not holding my breath)
@67
Are you stupid? Japan is where she was originally created and INTENDED to be a woman. "Named after the band by an unnamed female employee at Capcom, she was designed by Akira Yasuda to contrast against the bigger characters in the game and move about randomly. According to the book All About Capcom Head to Head Fighting Games, the characters were originally planned to be cisgender females, but were changed to transsexual females (or more specifically "newhalfs") due to the suggestion that "hitting women was considered rude" in America and the concern that feminist groups would sue." The ORIGINAL version of her is a female. Just like the ORIGINAL version of Bison is Vega, Vega is Balrog, and Balrog is M.Bison. Sigh.
So basically it's up to you to decide what which version you wanna think she is. The original, or the screwed up american one? I don't know about you or anyone else on here, but I like my women to be actual WOMEN, so I'm gonna go with the ORIGINAL version of her. Hate or insult me if you want.
what's the big deal with poison being a female or not?? she's a videogame character!, it's not like she's going to be your girlfriend, ono or whoever can suddenly decide that ken was born being a girl and what difference would it make???
btw, i'm definitely using her
LOL @ all these idiots debating Poison's gender. Akiman designed Poison as a male crossdresser. Just go to his blog and ask him. It's a popular trend in Japan for males to dress up as females. Capcom USA didn't get it. They assumed Poison was female and was ignorant of that cultural trend, so they took him out of the console versions and replaced him with more obvious male characters.
At any rate, I hope you tranny loving f@ckers are happy. That's one slot gone to waste. Next thing you know, we'll get El Gado and Hollywood in this b!tch.
@53: Man, it's okay. If you want to think that Poison is 100% female, you go for it. No one can or should change your opinion...you're of course entitled to that.
I actually think it's pretty cool thinking there's a gender-blending character being added to the mix. Capcom's had countless men and women in their games...why not have one representative for those that fit in between those lines?
you maybe right HighOnPCP on trolls and weaboos but you forgot another group of people. Final Fight fans! Its on the way back from the shadows of time :)
@#63 you will pray that they don't put in ling xiaoyu AND sakura because not only will that be my team, but i will be winning evo, sbo, whatever. me with ling xiaoyu=unstoppable.....UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!
Street Fighter has always been very progressive. Chun-Li is one of the few female characters in all of fiction who is muscular (those thighs, man: ^_^), Cammy is scarred, Juri is one of the powerful characters in canon (and also ambiguous as to whether she's a lesbian), C. Viper is a single mother, Zangief is gay but not stereotypically so, Eagle a little more stereotypically so, and Poison is transsexual.
Poison? Serious, Capcom? ... Well, she is not really a fighter. So she is supposed to be weakest in the game.
@73
You're either extremely retarded or the worst troll ever but I'm going to go with the first assumption either way. I'm not even going to try to explain to you why you are stupid, just so you know that you are. Shut up and get bent. I sincerely hope someone deletes your post before the false information and stupidity spreads.
Poison's gender is region specific, whatever we get is what we have to get used to here in North America. End of story.
@77 I agree, I'm sick and tired of people saying only "weeaboo" and "tranny lovers" want Poison. I always wanted her as a character because having playable Final Fight characters as a fan is always great.
@ 81 I think Poison could be female. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_%.... Go read two: a section "Promotion and reception" and a subsection "Censorship". What do you think?
Geez this comment doesn't let me paste the full link. =( But here go to wikipedia.org then type "poison (final fight)"
@ 81 Street Fighter players should also be aware of the historic links between both titles. In fact Final Fight was originally supposed to a be a sequel/ spin off of Street Fighter. Guy, Cody, Rolento, Sodom and Hugo are all characters from Final Fight who were featured in Street Fighter titles. There's absolutely no reason why Poison should not be in a Street Fighter game.
HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG poison. n she's not a freakin tranny.
And btw, Ono said in his tweet that if he brings Poison, then he'll also bring Hugo to SFxTK. Let us see.
@84 For you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_(...)
@81- Is that so?
Newsflash, idiot: They translated Poison's Japanese bio and put it in the US release of Capcom Classics Collection in 2005. THE BIO SAYS POISON IS MALE.
He is male both in Japan AND overseas. Stupid f@ggot. If you want to keep him female in your mind so you can jack off to him, that's your business. But YOU'RE the one who's spreading misinformation, and YOU'RE the one who needs to STFU and get bent. That's all you're good for.
Here's a serious question. How many of you guys who have been waiting FOREVER for Poison to be a in a fighting game actually played Final Fight Revenge?
Please oh please oh please! I want Sakura to be in this game so bad!!
Everytime i saw poison its really confusing!!
its like kayo police all over again, lol
http://ihogeek.com/2011/07/21/freddy-...
They have all this and the videos too
Great stuff!! This weekend is hype
omfg stfu aready poison is a female and capcom this time are going to fix that she meant to be a girl but do to that first final fight game that came out in the 80s or 90s back then they flet bad beatin up on girls now since chun li and cammy juri etc are all girls in a fightin game.
things are going to change you can say what you want or maybe get that faget thinkin out your minds or maybe ya roll like that doesn't fkin matter to me she a girl in my books btw those shorts are wayyy to fkin tight for balls to fit in those just sayin
You guys still on the Tranny thing? LoL, ok look, for those who are insecure in their man hood. Read.
Posion is who you want her to be but the Japanese developers like to poke around the idea that she is a Transvestite because they had to change her to a man at one point when Final Fight was being released in the US. I won't go into the details on that.
In short, Poison was always meant to be a woman but they used the tranny excuse (which was a lousy excuse) to keep the game from getting censored in the US. It did'nt work so everytime Americans google over Poison they like to play with our emotions and say Poison is a Tranny or cross dresser or whatever.
At the end of the day she is a cartoon, calling her a tranny does'nt change the image of the picture your looking at, Poison is NOT REAL!!!!
If you were to show a picture to a guy who had no idea what Final Fight was, im sure the first thing they would NOT ask is if she is a tranny. Feel better?
#77
i know man i love final fight...i've still got my original final fight 3 copy for SNES...that's some collectors item man :D
but yeah in final fight poison is just a weak enemy you beat the hell out of...but i'll stop "hatin" on poison and people who want her in...there you go she is actually in so have fun playing her!
i want Raven and Heihachi to be in (heihachi most likely will be but who knows)
so yeah, everybody wants some other sheet right?
i'm just mad hype for everything, UMvC3 got me soooo hype and then i remember daamn there is still 8 more characters we got to see in action etc. new moves for everybody, SF3 OE coming august 24th!!!!! this also looks gdlk...what else? Freddy freakin Krueger for MK9 haha, gdlk...and yeah after i saw the poison hugo trailer i'll have to admit it was indeed hype so it's all good FGC is the best!
Here are the facts, you Poison f@gs:
1. Akiman designed Poison as a male crossdresser. He said so himself.
2. Ono verified in EGM that Poison's a male who keeps his c0ck tucked away in Japan.
3. Capcom USA retracted everything they said in the past about Poison being post-op/female in North America with Capcom Classics Collection.
4. Poison's English bio in Capcom Classics Collection is a direct translation from the Japanese version, and it clearly says he is a GUY.
Just face it. All these facts are official. You Poison supporters just don't want to admit you've been drooling over a tranny all these years. You could have just asked for Roxy instead if you wanted a nice female to jack off to.
Don't say that's not the reason you wanted Poison, because I don't see anyone asking for Two P, Bred, El Gado and Axl to get in the game.
Correct. Poison's gender does not vary by region. She is a male-to-female transsexual in either region. Only her pre- or post-operative status has varied by market.
I am not sure why there are so many people posting here claiming otherwise and am tempted to guess it has to do with hatred for transsexuals. However, no amount of hatred will alter the history of the character as depicted.
@110- Not true. "She" is a tranny. Everything Capcom Jp and Capcom USA has said/done points to it. Look at the facts #109.
And I don't have hatred for transsexuals, gays or even crossdressers. But I do have a HUGE problem with characters that were never playable in a SF game being added over someone else. Poison was just a thug. What if it had been a different FF thug like Holly Wood? EVERYBODY would be up in arms and boycotting Capcom for it. But then, Holly Wood and the rest don't look like women, so that makes Poison acceptable? Bullsh!t it does.
THAT BIO IS OLD AS FK IMA WAIT TO I HAVE THE Game in hands and guildbook and look at the new bio of her i will have mt answer there
@ 111 - She's been playable elsewhere, and she played a decent part in SF3 as Hugo's manager. She's popular enough that Capcom felt she should be in.
OF COURSE part of it is that she's a sultry, attractive female character (in appearance, anyway).
Hell, the fact she may or may not be a transexual (depending on your point of view) has already drawn this much attention to the character!
And we haven't seen the rest of the roster yet, you've no idea if she took the place of someone viable, or she would have gotten in anyway.
If Holly Wood had been in multiple SF games and had something to do with one of the SF characters? I'm sure no one would have a problem with that either. But he hasn't, so he's not, like many of the other characters.
I think Poison is a female.
... I think Poison is a male.
@111- The only game Poison was playable in was FF Revenge. That doesn't count, because it was made BEFORE Capcom USA acquired the rights to SF, which means it has no ties to the actual SF continuity. And good riddance to that.
Until now, Poison's only been a weak little punk for Guy, Cody and Haggar to beat up. That's what he was made for. Making him playable in a SF crossover is just stupid. If his looks are supposed to be some kind of justification, it'd be like putting Sakura's friend and Dhalsim's wife in the game.
We all know they're gonna put a cap on the roster. If a SF character that Capcom knows is popular doesn't make the cut, that's how we'll know Poison kept him/her from getting in.
@112- Uhhh, no... there is no "new" bio for Poison. That's bullsh!t.
CCC came out for the PS2 in 2005. That overrides everything that came out in NA before then, including FF Revenge where Capcom USA mistook Poison for a female. They now know he's male. There's nothing from them that says they think your little tranny is otherwise.
Poison is a girl. She start off as a girl, she is always a girl. Do you think CAPCOM try to design a hot looking female character to attract male players, only them to make her a tranny?
As Ono said, in USA you can think that Poison is a tranny and is male. In Japan, Poison is female. End of story
@118- LOL. You can't read, can you? Here's the proof again. Try looking harder this time, moron. It's not that difficult.
It doesn't matter how "hot" Poison is. He still has a d!ck. One of Capcom's top character designers gave him a d!ck. Ono said he has a d!ck, and Capcom USA AGREES he has a d!ck. You clearly know nothing about reverse gender trends in Japan. Just sit down and STFU.
@ 118 - ~~"Do you think CAPCOM try to design a hot looking female character to attract male players, only them to make her a tranny?"~~
Uh... heh. Welcome to Japan, bro. ;p
@ 119 - Calm down man. I understand your name is Murderous and all but that doesn't mean you have to sound like you're really going to kill everyone you respond to, lol.
To your other points, that isn't "good riddance to that". Just because it predates Capcom USA's rights to SF doesn't mean it suddenly doesn't exist.
And to your other point, again, she was pretty prominent in SF3S as Hugo's manager. Obviously a large part of the fan base has been interested in her being playable in a main series game for a very long time (Hell, even I've been curious to see how she'd play!). Capcom knew she was pretty popular and decided that this game was the best to fit her in right now.
Aside from that, it's been stated multiple times that the Final Fight continuity and Street Fighter's continuity are at least in the same world, if not tied together completely by now. So hell, why not?
I can understand the fervor against say, Cole from InFamous (which I'm not jumping out of my seat about but whatever, I don't have to play him), but Poison, to me, seems to be a fair enough choice.
Finally, the other point still stands as well: we don't have any idea why [insert character here] would be left out; people like to ASSUME its because another character they don't like/care for was chosen (gotta' point that anger somewhere!), but there could be a plethora of reasons. And if it is because of their want to include Poison, someone who a lot of fans have been asking about for ages, then so what? Just run with it. ;p
Whatever she is, she's sexy and looks like a fun character to have in the roster.
@120- FF Revenge physically exists, but the fact it makes a mockery of the characters with over-the-top super moves, and contradicts what Capcom established with Alpha 3, means it doesn't belong in the SF universe. Poison never framed Cody for anything, he went to jail for getting in too many fights.
Regardless of what Poison did in SF3, he's still just a worthless thug. For all intents and purposes, he's a bigger joke than Dan. I can accept FF bosses like Sodom and Rolento. And Hugo's not an Andore, but a much tougher grappler who's designed after them. Those guys actually do pose a threat to the other SF characters. But lesser thugs who can't take down any of the main FF characters in a f@cking GANG UP? That makes no sense.
A character can be likable for a number of reasons, but putting someone in a game whose popularity is completely based on superficial garbage like looks, ethnicity, nationality, storyline and so on doesn't sit well with me. Crossovers should be reserved for popular characters that are fun to play, first and foremost. They should not serve as a testing ground for new ones. There's no excuse not to prioritize playable SF characters that have been proven to be successful in terms of appearance and design, as well as strategic value and unique gameplay.
Poison is particularly frustrating because if the fans were smart, and they knew he was a guy, we wouldn't have to put up with this sh!t. Capcom's not oblivious to those who realize he's a tranny. They knew damned well that putting him in SFxT would cause needless tension. I shouldn't have to vent, but it's hard not to when people that think with their c0cks continue to spread misinformation.
@Murderous
I'm going to have to agree with you. Poison is a worthless street trash cannon fodder goon whose ONLY claim to fame is controversy and sexuality. If the controversy over Poison's birth sex never arose, no one would care about Poison at all. I'm going to wait until we see whether Hugo is actually confirmed or not before I completely blow up, but Poison should never, NEEEVEEER have precedent over an homage to the most legendary professional wrestling in existence that Poison merely manages/escorts to the ring. That's like including Ken in lieu of Ryu, they're irrevocably associated with each other. You include number one, you include number one and number two, but you never include just number two and HUGO IS NUMBAR JUAN.
@119
Poison was originally intended to be a woman, plain and simple.
Anything after this simple fact is a situation that started off as a safety precaution to avoid lawsuits from civil groups concerning domestic violence against women.
Ono could say anything he wants about the situation at PRESENT about this controversy concerning "Poison's gender", but I'm going by the artist's original intention, and that intention was for Poison to be a woman.
@125- That is plain and simple BULLSH!T, and you're an ass. You think you know what Akiman's intentions were? Were you there at Capcom when he worked on Final Fight? Did he tell you about it over dinner? Or are you just living in some f@cking dreamworld where you're a g0ddamned super computer, and Capcom transmitted all their records and programming codes to your brain?
Get a clue, b!tch. If Akiman really wanted Poison to be a woman, he would be in the Japanese version, because civil suits were never concerned with anything relating to games in Japan. Poison's a man in both versions.
Ono has nothing to do with it. You got that? Poison was a man from the start. This is a fact because AKIMAN SAID SO. You can get somebody who knows Japanese to go to his blog and ask him. He'll tell you the exact same thing he was quoted on in Capcom's original sourcebooks. Until then, GTFO and stick a dild0 up your ass, you lousy know-it-all dipsh!t.
@126
You done ranting?
I would actually read what you have to say if it weren't for every other word was an attempt to be a, I don't know, a rage-driven idiot?
We'll never know his original and true intentions, and he may be lying on the stand just to get this "controversy" over and done with.
In short, you may be full of it just as much as he is for believing him.
I may be wrong for believing that she was supposed to be, with all intents and purposes, a woman.
Does anyone REALLY know the truth?
Nope.
Do people continue to argue on the matter?
Yep.
You may continue raging with your "Capcom facts", because we all know Capcom tells the truth 100% of time, every time, right?
@127- LOL, yeah. NOBODY can know the real truth except him. That's the only thing you said that's even remotely intelligent. So why the F@CK would you come on here and act like you know anything about his thinking process?
As of the original Final Fight, Poison is officially a man. As of 2005, there is nothing to suggest it varies on the region. That's all that matters. And unless Capcom elaborates on what Akiman "really" wanted, it is practically, and legally, immaterial. You mind shutting the f@ck up now?
Most sites I've visited in the past have implied the artist designed Poison as a woman, but American censorship got in the way.
Thus, why Roxy and Poison were replaced with Sid and Billy for the international SNES release.
Final Fight, in itself, got screwed over for the international localization.
Names were changed, "Oh! My god!" became "Oh! My car!", blood splashes were explosions, the list goes on and on. It's not entirely out of the ball park that severe changes needed to be done to Poison as well.
The classics collection, and the "All about Capcom" guide was all after the fact of this dispute anyway. The way I see it, Poison is a woman, and this situation got too big and they needed a "cop-out" just so everyone could shut up about it.
In the end, Poison may/may not be a man, Eagle is gay, and Birdie magically became Black. lmao
That's the problem. Most sites on the internet don't know WTF they're talking about regarding Poison.
Capcom USA just didn't know any better. Roxy is the only one said to be female in CCC. They might have had legit concerns about her. But they assumed Poison was female too when they saw him, so they both got replaced in the home ports.
CCC set everything straight about Poison in English finally. It sickens me that people are too f@cking stupid to believe it counts.
I'll just leave this here
http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/P...
"According to the book All About Capcom Head to Head Fighting Games, the characters were originally planned to be normal females, but were changed to transsexual females (or more specifically "newhalfs") due to the suggestion that "hitting women was considered rude" in America and the concern that feminist groups would sue. "
"Originally " Means they were meant to be females, therefore Poison is legit fap material for everyone
@131- Wikias are not reliable sources, dumba$$. Anybody can go in there and edit them. And that little snippet there is false. All About Capcom does NOT say they were originally female.
I'll just leave this here.
Either way, you're just coming off as a someone with rage problems.
Yeah..because she definitely looks like a "guy " who had a sex change.. >_> suuuure
Poison is a girl.
And anyways its up to the player to decide, if you want to think of a hot female character as a male then sure.. whatever rocks your boat
@ 96 Dark Yellow, not many due to the games limited release and high price. Apparently the games absolute rubbish as well, so that might put off anyone who can actually afford the game.
@#133 you say that like you're a real pro. like you like in santa monica and spot trannies for a living. lol the whole point of a trap is for you not to be able to tell until it's too late hence the name "TRAP". i guess if you think ash from kof is a female then that makes him so even thought he designers that made him say otherwise? okay buddy....whatever rocks your boat.
Looks great
